HISTORIC FINAL

Long Beach Convention Center

It was a dog show royal flush dealt to Judge Virginia Lyne for her BIS ring at the Long Beach Kennel Club show this evening. All of the finalists came from our top ten dogs save one, the Blood Hound, CH Quiet Creek's Mi Amor. When was the last time you remember a final seven with the number one Sporting, Working, Terrier, Toy, Non-Sporting, and Herding dogs all competing? I can't think of a single time in recent history (and my recent history is ancient history for a lot of folks.) this has happened AND all six of them from our top ten. Now that's drama, folks. And to add to the drama, the Giant Schnauzer, CH CH Galilee's Pure Of Spirit, needed a BIS win to stay in contention for the number one ranking at year's end and she proved once again that she has the "spirit" of a National Champion. Congratulations to Spirit and handler, Taffe McFadden. Our thanks to all the finalists for giving all of us dog show enthusiasts one of the most memorable finals in history. Special thanks to Terri Ericson of Paragon Siberians for bringing it to us in real time.

And now, are you ready for the main event, the Eukanuba National Championship?

  1. Billy, please be advised that Coda is still in Cleveland but cannot be shown today (Saturday). The breed judge is my father, so Coda is ineligible for competition. He will be back in the ring on Sunday.
    LOVE your blog!
