Despite upsets in the breeds tonight’s group judging was
pretty predictable. It started with judge
Peggy Lloyd’s Toy Group which was won by the Number Three Dog, the Shih Tzu,
GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power.
Rocket Spent most of the week in Cleveland, closer to his Michigan home,
but came to Orlando for the big one.

Michael Dougherty went with the nation’s Number One Hound,
GCH CH Flessner’s International S’cess, in what may thought was the night’s
strongest group. There were only two of
the Top Ten Sporting Dogs in Ed Bivin’s group and he went with the Number Two
Sporting Dog, the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Promenade Pay It Forward.

The lone surprise came in the Non-Sporting Group where the
2014 Cruft’s winner, the Standard Poodle, CH Afterglow Maverick Sabre, made a rare US
appearance, beating both the Number One and Number Two Non-Sporting Dogs in the
breed to make it to judge Toddie Clark’s ring.
The English born dog, who won
last year’s AKC/Eukanuba World Challenge, is now a Peruvian resident. We think he could be serious competition for
our American dogs tomorrow. Join us on

tomorrow.
