THANKSGIVING TRADITIONS

Happy Thanksgiving!

Tomorrow most of us will be enjoying a turkey dinner with all the trimmings in the company of family and friends we have not seen for most of the year.  However, die hard dog show enthusiasts in New England will be at the Holyoke Kennel Club show in West Springfield MA, the first of four shows there with the South Windsor Kennel Club, the Windham County Kennel Club, & the Springfield Kennel Club, each taking a turn.   Mid Atlantic fanciers will wait until Blacke Friday, eschewing the mall, to hit the Northeastern Maryland Kennel Club, the Chesapeake Kennel Club Of Maryland, the Upper Marlboro Kennel Club, & the National Capital Kennel Club four shows in West Friendship MD.

Great Lakes fanciers will choose between the Agathon Kennel Club’s two shows in Tallmadge OH and the Lake Shore Kennel Club double in Chicago Heights IL.  Here in the South exhibitors will be in Montgomery AL where the Anniston Kennel Club, the Tuscaloosa Kennel Club, & the hometown Montgomery Kennel Club will host three starting Friday.  Texans will settle for a twofer in Alvarado TX with the Cen-Tex Kennel Club.

The lone offering out west is out in California’s Central Valley with Golden Valley Kennel Club‘s Friday/Saturday offering in Turlock and the San Joaquin Kennel Club’s Sunday/Monday venture in Stockton.   Us? We are going to watch the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and the National Dog Show taped broadcast presented by Purina and the Kennel Club of Philadelphia show before siting down to dinner.  Happy Thanksgiving everyone!
