GSD GETS ANOTHER IN ATLANTA

The German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn picked up her second BIS in the last three days, taking the top prize at today’s Conyers Kennel Club of Georgia show in Atlanta.

Joining Rumor in judge Audrey Lycan’s final were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby's Toast With Gusto, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the RBIS, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.  Rumor has had a phenomenal month with seven BIS, four RBIS, and 13 Herding Groups.

British Colombia resident, judge Honey Anne Glendinning, was on the opposite side of the continent today to name the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), her Best In Show at today’s Great Barrington Kennel Club show in West Springfield MA.  Judge Glendinning chose Sonnito out of a seven that included the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Skara Braes I Was Worth The Wait, the Pharaoh Hound, DC Hallam's Jake Of Arolet SC, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Mistel's Can Can, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan's To Russia With Love, the Schipperke, CH De Lamer Overboard, and her RBIS, the Australian Shepherd, Propwash Iced Tea.

It was the first BIS this year for Sonnito who was last year’s Number Two Toy Dog with 27 BIS and 93 Toy Groups.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Romulo Sanchez-Torres, owners James & Janet Moses, and handler Erika Lanasa.

The Blackhawk Kennel Club opened the long weekend in Chicago on Friday, putting judge Douglas Johnson in the final ring.  His seven hopefuls were the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Albriden’s The Show Must Go On, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Giaconda, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek Lusitano Oceano Atlantico, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King’s Mtn Angelina Ballerina, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Char’s Seattle Slew For Triple Crown, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Barberry’s Take A Chance On Me, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Telltale Coco Posh.

It was the Greyhound, Gia, galloping to the BIS and the Chessie retrieving the RBIS.  It was the first for Gia and breeder/owner/handler Rindi Gaudet.  Congratulations to Rindi, breeders/owners Melanie Steel & Rose Tomlin, and owner Amy Phelan.

Die hard exhibitors continue to battle it out on the board walk in Wildwood NJ with Friday’s Sand and Sea Kennel Club show.  Judge Don Evans named the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Legacy Random Titleist, his Best In Show, and the Pekingese, GCH CH Legacy Random Titleist, after considering the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Stonewall Jackson, the Boxer, GCH CH Brisbane “N” Blue Mondays Diamonds Are Decadent, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Iacta Alea Est De La Bete, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Steeler Nation.

It was the first of the season for Titleist who finished 2014 with two BIS and 27 Sporting Groups (did you know that there were four English Springer Spaniels in the Top 13 Sporting Dogs last year?)  Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Kellie Fitzgerald, co-breeders David Rand & Jason Douglas, and owners Robert & Sandra Mockoviak.

POODLE BIS IN GEORGIA

Almost 2000 dogs gathered for today’s Sawnee Mountain Kennel Club of Georgia.  The seven that made it to judge Paula Hartinger’s final were the Vizsla, GCH CH Solaris Smokin Hot Habenera, the 13” Beagle, GCH CH Shoreview’s Raise Your Glass, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby’s Toast With Gusto, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Maibee Orlando, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

The two taking home the top prizes were last year's Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Poodle, Flame, and the GSD, Rumor.  It was the second BIS in eight final appearances this year for Flame and handler Sarah Perchick.
