ANOTHER PEKE BIS

We have a couple of BIS to give you. The Black Cocker Spaniel, CH EXL’s Leather’N’Lace, has taken the top prize at today’s Missouri Rhineland Kennel Club in Sullivan MO.

CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar

Another Pekingese has gone Best In Show today. CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar captured the big rosette at today’s Mobile Kennel Club show in Biloxi MS. The race for number one Pekingese is among the most interesting in the nation. Our top two Pekes, a dog & a bitch, have been neck and neck (probably a bad metaphor for this breed) all year. Both now have eight BIS. She has more group wins, but he leads on all breed and breed points.

Please let us know when these two go head to head. We want to be there.

PEKE WINS SOUTH SHORE

Well, it’s still raining in Falmouth MA, but our world class dogs just keep on trucking.

CH Lin-Lee’s For The Good Times

Helen Lee James had the helm at today’s South Shore Kennel Club show and had the pleasure of choosing her BIS from the Golden Retreiver, CH Tempo’s U’ve Got What Get’s Me, the Otterhound, CH Scentasia’s Shake Rattle n Roll, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Welsh Terrier, CH Territails National Treasure, the Pekingese, CH Lin-Lee’s For The Good Times, the Bulldog, CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

Her Best In Show was the nation’s number one Peke. We’ve noticed that this dog is consuming Toy Groups like potato chips. Handled by Pekingese maven, David Ftizpatrick, the two year old, bred & owned by Erna G Holcombe & Charlotte Carter, has been steadily climbing the rankings and is now in the top twenty all breeds.

WHATEVER LOLA WANTS, LOLA GETS

From today’s Salina (KS) Kennel Club we learn that Robert Sharp has selected the 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession as his Best.

CH Torquay Midnight Confession

Lola and handler Marcelo Chagas had the company of the Spinoni Italiani, CH Bela Presto Change-O, the Doberman Pinsche, CH Horizon’s Password, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, the Pomeranian, CH Pomeranian, CH Castile’s Endless Love, and yesterday’s BIS winner, the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv’s Daydream Believer.

That’s Lola’s and Marcelo’s third BIS in the last two weekends. Remember that thing about inertia from high school science class? In the dog world it means winners keep winning.

ARTFUL DODGER IN MICHIGAN

We have results from today’s St Clair Kennel Club in Goodells MI.

CH J’Cober Kemosabe Vigilante Justice

Judith Brown’s last seven standing were the Spinoni Italiaani, CH Klondike’s Frederico Ilario, the 13” Beagle, Someday’s Red In the Face, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Kenro’s Happy Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cober Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Pomeranian, CH Mountain Crest U Don’t Own Me, the Standard Poodle, CH By Request Tie The Knot, and the Old Englis Sheepdog, cH Lingtining’s Tequila Sunrise.

Best In Show went to one of our DOGS2WATCH, the Smooth Fox, Dodger. Dodger is the nation’s number two Terrier and the number eight dog all breeds.

WALTER BEBOUT KILLED IN ACCIDENT

We have some sad news to report today. AKC judge Walter Bebout was killed in a traffic accident while inroute to his BIS assignment at yesterday’s Hutchionson Kennel Club show.

Walter was a former AKC Conformation Field Representative and was AKC Director of Canine Legislation from April 2006 to November 2008. Making good use of a Master in Political Science, he was responsible for all AKC legislative initiatives on the local and state level and worked closely with the AKC Federal Government Relations Consultant on all federal issues. He was a champion of the pure bred dog both in and out of the show ring and will be much missed by all of us. Our sincere condolences to his family and friends.

NEW BIS WINNER

It’s been a good good couple of weeks for California based handler Mike Stone.

CH Blossomhill’s Momma Mia

He has logged BIS on his Alaskan Malamute, CH Catanya’s Latin Lover, and his Silky Terrier, CH Safire’s Rock It To The Stars. Now we hear that Madeline Fish’s Best In Show at today’s Redwood Empire Kennel Club show was Mike’s Basset Hound, CH Blossomhill’s Momma Mia. Also in the final were the aforementioned Malamute and Silky. It was the first BIS for the Basset, Violet. Our congratulations to Mike and breeder/owner Suzanne Sukey Shor.

SADIE GET NUMBER 80

We hear that, despite the fierce competition in the ring, everyone is having a wonderful time in Raleigh NC this weekend. Who said that dog people didn’t know how to party?

Jean Fournier’s finalists were all business as they went through their routines today, the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Filedfines Back In action JH, the Whippet, CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands, the Rottweiler, CH Chancellor Gorgeous Patrone, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH Arywen Star Kissed Delight, the Keeshond, CH Quest Stand By Me, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Equinox Ad Astra.

It was the 80th career BIS for the Scottie, Sadie, who holds the title of the country’s highest scoring dog in conformation by an astounding 27,000 points. Folks, that’s pretty impressive.

Now we hear from Ebensburg PA where the Colored Bull Terrier, CH Black Shark De Rocabull, went BIS at the Altoona Area Kennel Association show today, becoming the first Tri-Color Bull Terrier ever to win an all breed BIS. Barick.

His BIS was the Giant, Brigs. This is Brigs’ third all breed BIS this year. He doesn’t show much outside his own area. We guess we will have to make a road trip to see this fabulous guy.

HISTORIC WIN UPDATE

Well, we predicted that the 15" Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, would soon break the record she tied yesterday, the number of all breed BIS won by a 15" Beagle bitch. Lola is only two years old, with a long show career ahead of her. However, even her most ardant fans didn't think she would do it with a back to back win, but that's exactly what she did, taking the day two Carroll County Kennel Club show in North Conway NH. That's lucky, and record breaking, number seven for Lola and Marcelo Chagas.

HISTORIC WIN

CH Torquay Midnight Confession

We have a historic win to report. The 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, has tied the record for the most all breed BIS by a 15” Beagle bitch. Jack Ireland gave Lola and breeder/owner/handler Marcelo Chagas the top prize at yesterday’s Carroll County Kennel Club show in North Conway NH. It was Lola’s sixth big rosette, her fifth this year. Barely two years old, Lola has plenty of time to best the record she now co-owns with CH Shaw’s Circle Of Glory.

THREE MORE BIS

CH Avalor’s INXS

We awake to find we have word of three BIS winners. The Golden Retriever, CH Avalor’s INXS, in Des Moines IA, the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepnlady Webber, in Petaluma CA, and the Irish Setter, CH Ashton’s Peaceful Easy Feeling, in Eugene OR. Congratulations to them all.
