GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch

Because the Roanoke Kennel Club is one of those that refuses to share their catalogs on line, we had to get the results from someone on the inside at today’s show in Salem VA who knows the secret handshake.

SALEM VA DAY ONE OF FIVE

GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction

Our show week began today in Salem VA.  As regular readers know, many of the Virginian clubs have decided to withhold on line catalogs and show results until the week is over.  We’re not sure what the logic is, but it sure makes it difficult for us to try and keep fanciers around the US and else where in the world up to date on what’s happening in the world of AKC dog shows.  Fortunately, we have loyal, generous readers who share.

The secret society hosting today’s show was the James River Kennel Club.  Thanks to our reader we know that the first final was judged by Charles Trotter and among his finalists were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Celestial CJ’s Hearts on Fire, the Siberian Husky, CH Trillium Blue's Raising The Bar, Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Bayleigh Shaireab's Pinball Wizard, the the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Boston Terrier GCH CH Shine's Cupid Dolly, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

Day One went to AKC’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham.  Beckham and handler Linda Pitts have maintained a comfortable lead over the opposition for most of the year, always adding another BIS to their resume whenever anyone gets within a couple of thousand points.  Today’s win was their 28th of the year.

BURLINGTON WISCONSIN KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari

Before we start with this week’s reports we have the last of the previous week.  The Burlington Wisconsin Kennel Club finished up the big four day weekend in Wisconsin with two shows in Elkhorn.

On Monday Clay Coady’s lineup featured the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summit’s Emery It’s in the Bag, Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Sixpence, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogel light’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Frontier’s License to Carry at Margaux.

Picking up his second BIS of the weekend was the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Joey’s 18 BIS of the season makes the Top Five Dogs All Breeds a very tight knit group indeed.

Six of Monday’s finalists would be back the next day to see Raymond V. Filburn Jr, with the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv’s Blue Thunder, being the lone newcomer.   Picking up the big rosette was the Kuvasz, Tanner.  The win, Tanner’s eleventh this year, came one day shy of his third birthday.  Yes, this was has a lot more final appearances yet to come.
