GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore's Diamond Lil
Our Monday Morning Mop Up begins in Houston TX where three of our Top Four Dogs All Breeds were gathered with many other of our Top 100. For the Houston Kennel Club, the Beaumont Kennel Club, & the Galveston County Kennel Club teamed up for one of the biggest weekends of the year.
GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm
The drama started early as the Top Two Dogs All breeds, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, & the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, faced off in the Sporting Group. The GWP, Oakley, advanced to Robert Stein’s final, while the Springer, Peyton, put his Group Two ribbon in the tack box.
Rounding out judge Stein’s final were the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Criston Enchanted, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore's Diamond Lil, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin’s Tarheel, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Padow’s Twillight Emery in a New Moon at Asans, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Karousel Kartwheels.
Oakley would finish the day with the Reserve Best In Show, while the big prize would go to our newest DOG2WATCH, the Dane, Scout. A striking black bitch, Scout, and handler Laurie Lynn Coomes have seven BIS this season, four in the last two weekends.
GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky
The BKC had the Saturday sweet spot, with an entry of almost 2600 dogs and Edd Bivin had the Springer, Peyton, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Vin-Melca’s Norseman, the Dane, Scout, the above named Wire, Sky, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English toy Spaniel, GCH CH Royalist Ready to Reign, the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Harmony Hill’s Money Talks.
GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova
Judge Bivin’s Top Two were the Wire & the Springer. The BIS, the Wire, Sky, had arrived in Houston early to take both the Wednesday & Thursday editions of the Houston all Terrier Club. Sky’s 16th BIS of the year and additional four Group Ones will net her nearly 3000 points, but still leave the Number Four Dog 7000 points shy of the Number Three Dog.
GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose
Honey Glendenning would close the weekend for the GCKC with the Springer, Peyton, the aforementioned Elkhound, Eric, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Silver Six Pence, the Wire, Sky, the previously seen Toy Spaniel, Dash, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me And My Shadow of Cornus. The Springer’s persistence would pay off with the last big rosette of the set, while the Shar-Pei, Jose, would get the RBIS. Peyton would leave Houston with his 26th BIS of the season and a little closer to the Number One Dog. Check back with us in a couple of days and we will tell you how close.
