NO FOOTBALL? DO A DOG SHOW

San Bernardino Mountains

It seems this entire month that our biggest shows have been on the west coast.  It started with Palm Springs.  Last week we had Portland.  This week the number will be in Southern California where the Tri-valley Working Dog Club Of Pinon Hills will warm up for the Orange Empire Dog Club’s two shows in San Bernardino CA.    Expect close to 2000 dogs on Saturday.   Up north, just south of San Francisco in Daly City CA, the venerable Golden Gate Kennel Club will hold sway for two days at the legendary Cow Palace.

Back on this side of the Mississippi, we have multiple show venues in Grayslake IL where the Chain O'Lakes Kennel Club & the Park Shore Kennel Club will team for three all breed shows and In Alexandria LA with the Baton Rouge Kennel Club & the Alexandria Kennel Club giving us four shows.   The Middle Peninsula Kennel Club Of Virginia will give us just two all breed shows in Doswell VA , but will sweeten the deal with two limited breed prelims, the Potomac Hound Club & the Virginia Terrier Club shows on Friday.

The remaining shows are all of the two day, working guy, variety.  You can spend Saturday and/or Sunday with the Erie Kennel Club in Erie PA, in Ladson SC with the Charleston Kennel Club, in Ocala FL with the Greater Gainesville Dog Fanciers Association, in Lake St Louis MO with the St. Charles Missouri Kennel Club, or in Abilene TX with the Abilene Kennel Club.    There’s no football this weekend to keep you home in front of the TV.  It’s a perfect weekend to spend with the beautiful dogs of the AKC.
