SOMERSET HILLS KENNEL CLUB

The week’s biggest numbers are in Briddgewater NJ where the entry at today’s Somerset Hills Kennel Club show was almost 2100 dogs.  The seven that made it all the way to judge Anitra Cuneo’s final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Crispy Legacy, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo Picture Perfect.

Today’s BIS was the Toy Poodle, Sakura.  The RBIS was the IWS, Riley.  Sakura is the Number One Toy Poodle and the Number Five Toy Dog with nine BIS and 32 Toy Groups.

Our first show results today come in from Biloxi MS, the beach destination of choice for us here in the Mid-South.  Today’s host club was the Mobile Kennel Club who asked judge Molly Martin to choose her top two from the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro Rendition Top Call, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, GCH CH Alexander’s Gold Rush Xcetera, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Papillon, GCH CH Wildfire On The Record, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know the Way to San Jose, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Aussbern Premier Ticket Of Myshara.

Her Best was the Giant, Dora, and her Reserve, the Shar-Pei, Josie.  Dora and handler Amy Booth are carrying some serious summer heat into the fall with 20 BIS and 50 Working Groups this year.

LABOR DAY LEFTOVERS

We have two more shows left over from Labor Day for you.  Monday’s Cary Kennel Club show capped the four day Tarheel Labor Day Cluster.  The cluster had drew top dogs from all over the nation.  Helen Winski-Stein’s final included the English Setter, Wyndswept's Reflection of the Heart, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner's International S'Cess, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Ariel Bella Dona, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Whisper, the Tibetan Terrie, GCH CH Kan Sings Tenzin, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy of Merivern.

Her BIS was the GSD, Galaxy, her RBIS, the Doberman, Bella.  Galaxy is the Number One German Shepherd Dog and the Number Four Herding Dog with 11 BIS and 49 Herding groups.

Up in Morristown NJ Desmond Murphy had the closer for the Schooley Mountain Kennel Club.  His super seven hopefuls were the Irish Setter, CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Soonipi Friends In Low Places MLH, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH Bayard Wendy, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Diva’s Bastille My Heart, and the Briard, GCH CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

Collecting the top two awards were the Frenchie and the PWD.  It was the first for the 21 month old bitch in ten final appearances this year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Patricia Hearst Shaw and handler Jodi Longmire.

SIBERIAN REPEATS IN ALBION NY

Sunday’s Towanda Kennel Club in Albion NY was much like Saturday’s.  Once again the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist's Quicksilver Speigas, walked away with the top award.  Patricia Mowbray-Morgan’s Reserve went to the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Cin-Don On The Road Again.

Rounding out her seven were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Ventures Boys N Toys, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Tioka's American Ride, the Colored Bull Terrier, GCH CH Yoeckydoes Kissproof, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH By Request Bon Mot, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Acadia Stage Presence.  The BIS is the fourth in 12 final appearances this year for Fizzy and handler Tim Terella.
