SOUTH DADE KC SATURDAY

Judge Jacki Stacy was in Davie FL to call the BIS at today’s South Dade Kennel Club show. Her seven options were the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Fair Isle Black Tie CD JH, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett Appraxin Angel, the Samoyed, GCH CH White Magic's Seasoned Traveler, the West Highland White Terrier GCH CH White Oaks Invincible Snowplow, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kaylen's Kahlua, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Bluvali Players Paradigm, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

She would name the Puli, Charlotte, as her Best and the Tibetan Terrier, Dymer, as her Reserve. Charlotte is the nation’s Number One Puli and Number Two Herding Dog with 13 BIS and 63 Group Firsts.

FRIDAY IN YUMA AZ

GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno 

The hometown Yuma Kennel Club offered one of only two all breed shows is the US on Friday. As such, it drew some of the country’s top ranked dogs. The nation’s Number One Toy Dog, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, would by judge Norman Patton’s BIS and AKC’s Number One Herding Dog, the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bugaboo’s Picture Perfect, would be his RBIS.

Joining them in the final ring were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Sandpiper's Let Freedom Ring, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M&M's Fear The Beard, the Boxer, GCH CH Hijinx This Is How I Roll, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Hjohoo's Save Hjour Love For Me, and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow. It was the 26th BIS in 74 final appearances this year for Danny and handler Curtiss Smith.

While most of America were spending Black Friday shopping today fanciers were in Savannah GA for the hometown kennel club’s day one show. At the end of the day judge James Noe would consider the a top ranked seven, the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin For Trouble, the Boxer, GCH CH Mephisto’s Speak Of The Devil, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Starfire’s Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Alexy Handsome Devil.

Judge Noe did Black Friday his way, choosing the country’s Number One Non-Sporting Dog, the black Standard Poodle, Flame, as his Best and the nation’s Number Two Hound, the Beagle, Miss P, as his Reserve. Flame is also the Number Three Dog All Breeds with 46 BIS and 118 Group Firsts.

MONDAY IN STOCKTON CA

GCH CH Skyline’s Unit of Measure 

The San Joaquin Kennel Club wrapped the show week with their Monday show in Stockton CA. The seven dogs who stayed all day to see judge Janice McClary were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro N Shardust Authentic, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Vin-Melca’s Daggarwood Delight, the Akita, GCH CH Mojo's Continuation Of A Myth, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Absolutely Stand Back Look Out, the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Karisma Heart And Soul, the Keeshond, GCH CH Skyline’s Unit of Measure, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copper Hills No Reservations.

Taking home the week’s last BIS as the Keeshond, Cubit. Adding an RBIS to yesterday’s BIS was the Aussie, Bourdain. Cubit is the country’s Number One Keeshond and Number Four Non-Sporting Dog with six BIS and 38 Non-Sporting Groups this year.

Californian exhibitors left Turlock CA Saturday for Sunday’s San Joaquin Kennel Club show in Stockton CA. The seven dogs making judge Lydia Coleman Hutchinson’s final were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Foxboro N Shardust Authentic, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Boxer, GCH CH Maxl’s Stay Gold, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Absolutely Stand Back Look Out, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ta Sen Swinging On A Star, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copper Hills No Reservations.

Her Best was the Aussie, Bourdaine, and her Reserve the Basset, Tiger. It was the third BIS in 15 final appearances this year for Bourdaine and handler Larry Fenner.

GCH CH Dunham Lake Unanimous Decision became the first Australian Terrier to win a Best In Show this year, taking the top prize at Sunday’s Minneapolis Kennel Club show in Shakopee MN.

 Challenging Jennie for judge Jacki Stacy’s favor were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, her RBIS, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Phillmar’s Superman, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Man, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Bret D Gabriel’s Lost Art CD BN RAE RD CGCA, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey. The win brings Jennie’s 2014 record to 22 BIS and 88 Terrier Groups.

The nation’s Number Four Dog All Breeds, the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, was judge Gene Blake’s Best In Show at Sunday’s Council Bluff Kennel club show in their Iowa hometown.

Beckett starts the new week with 24 BIS and 86 Sporting Groups on his 2014 dance card.

The nation’s Number Three Dog, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, spent the week in West Springfield MA, ending the weekend in judge Sari Brewster-Tietjen’s final at the hometown Springfield Kennel Club’s show. Judge Tietjen would name Flame her RBIS, but reserve the top prize for the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

Rounding out her seven were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don’t Tell, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Shameless, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist’s Soda Pop, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, and the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH GCH CH Seagryphs Sleeping With The Anemone. Rumor is the nation’s Number 13 Herding Dog with five BIS and 31 Herding Groups.

The nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, made it a clean sweep in West Friendship MD picking up the BIS at Sunday’s Upper Marlboro Kennel Club show. 

GCH CH Devinwood A Perfect Stranger 

We suppose judge Sandy Wheat might have chosen the Irish Setter, GCH CH Militza's My Cherie Amour, the Ibizan Hound, GCH CH Serandida Abbaio La Contessa Scalza SC NAJ, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan’s To Russia with Love, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow's Hi-Tech Ben There Done That, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sing’s Po-Ba-Ri At Arundina, or her RBIS, the Rough Collie, GCH CH Devinwood A Perfect Stranger, but she didn’t. 

Matisse has garnered 129 BIS and 167 Working Groups this year, bringing his career total to 224 BIS, the second highest tally in AKC history.

 Our first set of results today comes in from Tallmadge OH and the Agathon Kennel Club. Judge Victoria Jordan chose her top two from a seven that included the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Otterhound, GCH CH Aberdeen's Under The Influence, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Pouch Cove's Seabrook Enough Said, the Norwich Terrier GCH Camio's Educated Exemplar, the Havanese GCH Qbin's Strictly Confidential At Enginuity, The Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Briard, CH Deja Vu Mia Cool As A Cucumber.

Fanciers in Shakopee MN enjoyed unseasonably warm temperatures to attend Saturday’s Minneapolis Kennel Club show. The seven dogs that stayed all day to see judge Dr Robert Indeglia were the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope Never Ask Why For Daykeyne, the English Foxhound, Taillis Au Birchwood Tamsall, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Nightline Viking A Tanglewood, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King’s Mtn Angelina Ballerina, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Char's Seattle Slew For Triple Crown, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Cher Amis Toast With Remy Martin, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Margaux’s Va Voom.

Fanciers in the Heartland are in Council Bluffs IA for the Council Bluffs Kennel Club’s two shows this weekend. Saturday ended with judge Anne Savory Bolus in the final ring with the Britanny, GCH CH Rainbow Splash’s Ruggedly Handsome, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Nighthawk's Limited Edition CD RE THD, the Parson Russell Terrier, GCH CH Posey Canyon Classic Stun Gun, the Brussels Griffon, Fist Face A Penny For Your Thought, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Unique Da Maya Dancing Queen, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Tang Dynasty Rocky.

The hometown Montgomery (AL) Kennel Club held their second show of the weekend on Saturday and asked judge Toddie Clark to name a Best In Show and Reserve Best In Show. Her seven options were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Dezperado's Hallelujah, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), the French Bulldog, GCH CH Escada Del Veintisiete At Qazara, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Finishing one/two were the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, and the Puli, Charlotte. Jennie is the Number Two Terrier and the Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 21 BIS and 87 Terrier Groups in 2014.
