GCH CH Whistletop's Riley On Fire
After a weekend where the news in the dog world has been dominated by controversy from overseas, it’s never been more of a pleasure to do our Monday Morning Mop up and focus on the dogs here in the US. We start in Milton NY where the Monticello New York Kennel Club & the Saw Mill River Kennel Club teamed for three shows. The MNYKC was first up on Friday with Ken McDermott making the final decision.
The seven seeking his favor were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistletop's Riley On Fire, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Brakenshire Scotch N Ice, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller N Lore Diamond Lil, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash JP Sakura, the Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Georgio Armani, and the Beauceron, CH . Beowolf Rime Des Monts Du Lac.
His Best In Show was the IWS, Riley. It’s the first this year for the two year old, who took home a Sporting Group four from Westminster last month. Riley sends a shout out to her half brother, CH Whistlestop’s Elements of Magic, who won the Gun Dog Group this past weekend at Crufts. Congratulations to Riley’s breeders Colleen McDaniel & Stacy J Duncan, owners Tom Urban, Bethany Urban, & Gregory Siner.
GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box
The above named Lakeland, Poodle, & Beauceron would be back at the MNYKC’s day two show on Saturday to see Chuck Winslow along with the Weimaraner, GCH CH Northwoods Send Money Honey, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Siberian Husky, CH Kontoki's Isaiah Little Prayer For You, and the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian.
His BIS would be another young bitch, the Foxhound, Jewel, our newest DOG2WATCH. Just 27 months old, this year’s Westminster breed winner adds her fifth BIS to her already impressive 2012 record.
The SRKC would finish it all up on Sunday with Sheila Balch in the ring with the aforementioned IWS, Deerhound, & Siberian, the Irish Terrier, Kell’s touch of Fleet Street, the Long Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Roseland’s Eli, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Rough Collie, Diamante’s Crown Jewel. Best was the four year old Siberian. We haven’t seen much of this boy since he won the 2009 Siberian Husky Club of America National Specialty. This is his first BIS this year. Congratulations to breeders/owners Maria DePalma Thomas Oelschlager and owners N Wisniewski, R Tang& S Kao.
