ROSEBURG OR DAY THREE

GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore

Day three in Roseburg OR was hosted by a new club, the Rogue Valley Kennel Club, but the BIS winner was the same as the day before, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore.  Also reprising their finalists roles were the Sussex Spaniel, GCH CH Seamist On A Windward Tack RN, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Soletrader Donald Duck, & the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek.  Rounding out Robert Stein’s BIS ring were the Akita, CH Blackngold Witchy Woman, the Papillion, GCH CH Zeilacon Butch Cassidy at Draco, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Winsorcastle's Foxlore Tymeless.  Encore has pretty much stayed close to her Pacific Northwest home since winning the Poodle Club of America’s National Specialty back in April in Maryland.  Nonetheless, she and handler Tim Brazier have amassed 17 BIS along the way.

WE HAVE A NUMBER ONE DOG!

GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy

We waited three days to find out who would emerge the Number One Dog in the US and today we know.  Today the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, and the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, faced off once more in Columbus OH at the Lima Kennel Club show.  Giving them a run for their money in Timothy Catterson’s final were the Vizsla, GCH CH Artisan Grouse Point Pink Panther JH, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH tres Pinheiros Starbarack Kent, the Rottweiler, GCH cH Cammcastle’s Friar Tuck, the Boston Terrier, CH Annalee Told You So, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder .

Taking home the sizable point advantage of  2019 dogs defeated was the Peke, Malachy.  The win assures that Malachy will hold the Number One Dog All Breeds title for at least the next week.  Our thanks to all the competitors for making this one of the most exciting weeks of the year.

KENNEL CLUB OF PHILADELPHIA

At our home Thanksgiving Day is a day for family, food, football, & Philadelphia, the annual broadcast of the Kennel Club of Philadelphia show, that is.  Today’s highlights, Groups and BIS judging will be televised immediately after the Macy’s Parade on your local NBC affiliate.

POODLE DOUBLES DOWN IN NC

GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction

We told you yesterday that you might want to note the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction had won four BIS in the last eight days.  Well, London has added another BIS to his 2010 resume.  Today’s win came under Robert Ennis today in Concord NC at the day two show of the Greater Monroe Kennel Club.  Rounding out the final were the Irish setter, GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Komondor, CH Meadow View Officer N A Gentleman, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Edbrios Stradavari, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Krissy‘s Malibu Dream, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Brookridge Pop Secret.  That brings London’s season total to 14.

GREATER MONROE KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction

The Greater Monroe Kennel Club opened the all breed action in Concord NC today with Fred Ferris commanded the final ring.  His seven contenders were the English setter, GCH cH Kaska’s Capture The Moment, the Saluki, CH Ellessar’s Bush Bunny KC, the German Pinscher, GCH CH Nevars Jules, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Lil Itch Cheerleader, the Pug, CH Wowoo Serendipity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Bearded Collie, CH Aellen Blue Persuasion.  BIS was the Poodle, London.  That’s 13 this season for London and handler Ann Rairigh, four of which have come in the last eight days.  Now that's worth noting.

SEMINOLE DFA DAY TWO

GCH CCH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction

We did warn you that there would be a fall feast of dog shows this weekend.  Down in Ocala FL the Seminole Dog Fanciers Association was holding its day two show today.  The capped it off with Charles  Olvis considering the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CCH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Kimani's Sneak Preview, the Anatolian Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Inanna Bay Boudreau Of Luckyhit, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Castile’s Endless Love, yesterday’s BIS winner, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Leeason’s Rock My Soul.    BIS went to the nation’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham.  It’s the 21st this year for Beckham and handler Linda Pitts, three already this month.

GREATER PHILADELPHIA DOG FANCIERS

GCH CH Windntide Mr. Sandman

Patti Widick Neale had the final for today’s Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association show in Oaks PA.  Her seven hopefuls were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Windntide Mr. Sandman, the Afghan Hound, CH  Ledgehill Man Of My Dreams, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood styled Dream, the Scottish Terrier,  GCH CH Lomondview Clementina, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Honores Lily-Belle, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH My Thai Ta Sen Halleluiah Chorus, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Mysharas Dream Girl.

Her BIS was the Irish Setter, Clooney.  We haven’t seen much of this guy, but we do know that he was Best Of Opposite Sex at this year’s Irish Setter Club of America National Specialty.  We think this might be the first all breed BIS for the three year old.  Congratulations to breeders Carol McGarry & Christina Marley, owners Patrick J & Carol McGarry, and handler Peter Kubacz.

BACK2BACK BIS FOR NUMBER THREE

GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed

It’s day two in Columbus OH and there was just as much drama as day one.    Most observers had expected today’s Dayton Kennel Club to be another face to face meeting between the nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, and the Number Two, the Pekingese, GCH CH Malachy.  However, neither would make it to Dana Cline’s final.  His seven were yesterday’s BIS winner, the  country’s Number Three Dog, the Irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Tiara Ne-Kabu Abu Simbel Ankh, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Catera's Fun Fast N World Class, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Tyrolian Eight Belles At Meadowlark, the US’ Number Eight Dog, the Havanse,  Qbin's Happy Feet At Enginuity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Spitfire, and the Rough Collie, GCH CH Taliesin Fashion Forward.

It was the Irish Setter, Emily, picking up the back2back BIS, a result that, once again, leaves our top two so close together than it is a virtual tie.  And while Number Three trails the top two by a substantial margin, we have to like that she doesn’t seem to know it.

TOP DOG SHOWDOWN IN OHIO

GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed

Everyone in the dog world was breathlessly waiting for the showdown between our two top contenders today in Columbus OH at today’s Sandusky Kennel Club show.   The Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, and the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, both have defeated nearly 70,000 dogs this year and are just a handful of points apart.  Both met today in Christine E. Calcinari’s final.  Also on hand were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee Caught Red Handed, the 15” Beagle, CH Langrigg Star Of The Stage, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Kontoki’s A Bend In The Road, the Bulldog, GCH CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

Proving just how tough the competition was the Irish Setter, Emily, as the Number Three Dog All Breeds bested both of the leaders taking home the top prize of the four day opener and leaving us totally clueless as to who has the Number One Spot.  Our congratulations to breeders Debbie Burke, Timothy Burke, & Ellen Bieler, owners Debbie Burke & Nancy Lee Conner, and handler Adam Bernardin on the big, big win.

SEMINOLE DOG FANCIERS

GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior

Our dog show weekend started today with four all breed shows.  From Ocala FL and the Seminole Dog Fanciers Association, we hear that Elizabeth Muthard chose the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, as her BIS today.  She might have chose the German Wire Haired Pointer, GCH CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout, the Afghan Hound, CH Pizzazz Debonair, JC, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Cammcastle’s My Gigolo, the Parson Russel Terrier, CH Bayshore N’vr Queen Victoria, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Mondrian VH Lamslag RE, or the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside in the Dark Zone, but she didn't.  It was the first all breed BIS for the two year old Frenchie, Griffin.  Congratulations to breeders Vickie Lang & Patricia & Luis Sosa, owner Nancy Shaw, and handler Larry Cornelius.
