AFGHAN BIS IN OBERLIN OH

GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir

Our next report comes in from Oberlin OH where the Lorain County Kennel Club is hosting two shows this weekend.  Judge Whitney Coombes had the day one final and her choice of the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sasyta’s Eleven Eleven, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Newcastle’s Blame It on the Sun, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Broxden Waybroke Halstan Heritage, the Havanese, GCH CH Qbin’s Strictly Confidential at Enginuity, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Her Best was the Afghan, Ryder, and her Reserve, the Corgi, Libby.  Ryder only joined the Top 100 All Breeds during the last month.  However, he has picked up three BIS since then .  We will have to wait to see if today’s win, his sixth of the year, will put him in the Top 50.

FOUR IN A ROW FOR #1

Col Joe Purkhiser had the judges book at today’s  final for the Southern Adirondack Dog Club and he made it four in a row for the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, AKC’s Number One Dog All Breeds.

Col Purkhiser also liked his Reserve winner, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Phelps Insignia, more than he did the Labrador Retriever, CH Ancroft Gentlemen Player, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Eis Haus Ivy League Big Red CD CGC, the Pug, GCH CH Foursquare I'll Be A Shostopa Tu, the Ale Kai The Beat Goes On Fifth, or the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Dunhill Celebration.  Sky’s 41st BIS of the year assures that she will lose no ground to the Number Two Dog.

NUMBER TWO IS BIS IN WISCONSIN

GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse

Our Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, surfaced yesterday in South Milwaukee WI where he took the opening BIS of the Cudahy Kennel Club.

Judge Robin Stansell also liked the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, whom he gave the RBIS.   Challenging the Top Two were the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Nexus Total Eclipse, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake’s Pants on Fire, the Smoot Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH  Sandy’s Babes Tradewinds As Ever, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH  Overtops And The Winner Is, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy of Merivern.

Yesterday’s win was only about a quarter as big as Matisse's last BIS, and will do little to reduce the lead of the Number One Dog.  However, Matisse leads all dogs in the number of BIS this year with 50.

The Penn Ridge Kennel Club kicked off the big weekend in Harrisburg PA.  Judge Beth Sweigert had the opening final and her pick of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Mario N Beechwood’s Midnight Express, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Jokerlands Glacyia, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee’s Easily Persuaded, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Padow’s Twilight Embrey in a New Moon at Asans, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Karizma’s Ike of Edale.

Her Best was the Peke, Rodger, and her Reserve was the Foxhound, Jewel.  After a late start this year, Rodger has steadily climbed the rankings.  Rodger is the country’s Number One Pekingese, and Number Four Toy Dog with ten BIS and 40 Toy Groups.  We would not be surprised if Rodger finished the weekend as the Number Two Toy Dog.

#1 GETS 3 IN A ROW

The country’s Number One Dog, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, has picked up her third consecutive BIS in Ballston Spa NY.  The latest win came at today’s Mohawk Valley Kennel Club show, the third installment of the Adirondack Circuit.

GCH CH Foursquare I'll Be A Shostopa Tu

We suppose judge Ron Menaker might have chosen the Field Spaniel, GCH CH Sandscape Pardon Me Boys, the Akita, GCH CH Ruthdale’s Candy from a Baby, the RBIS, the Pug, GCH CH Foursquare I'll Be A Shostopa Tu, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Rinchen’s Blazing Black Icon, or the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Rosmoor Protocol, but he didn’t.

With her 41st BIS of the year, Sky has set the bar high for those dogs gathered in Harrisburg PA for the point rich Keystone Cluster.   Stay tuned and we will tell you where our Top Dogs stand.
