TWOFER IN YAPHANK NY

GCH CH Classical’s My Turn

We admit that we were slow to warm to the idea of the double header dog show, i.e. two shows in one day.  Entries are small enough at already at most shows.  However, we have come to realize that the shows have many advantages.  First, many exhibitors can only attend shows one day because of work or family demands.  When we first starting showing we often worked Sundays.  However, two things finally sold us on the concept.  The public generally arrive at shows after much of the breed judging is over and many of the exhibitors have left.  When breed judging begins in the afternoon our sport gets introduced to more of the public.  Secondly, too many of our exhibitors never stay for group and BIS judging.  They show and leave, robbing themselves of the most beneficial part of the show experience, getting to see (and hopefully talk to) the more experienced exhibitors who make it to the group ring.

GCH CH Johari’s He’s All the Money on Wallstreet

The Brookhaven Kennel Club opted for the Saturday double header in Yaphank NY.  The morning show ended with judge Geri Kelly in the final ring with the Golden retriever, GCH CH Inlet s One Spectacular Ride, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Tarabon Willowood Man with the Golden Gun, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Johari’s He’s All the Money on Wallstreet, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Est Etiam Junctus Maximus at Arily, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel , GCH CH Piccadil’s Dream a Little Dream of Me RE CGC, the Bulldog, GCH CH  Cherokee Legend Cowboy, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn.

Her BIS was the Beardie, Turner, and her RBIS, the Bullmastiff, JP.  Turner is the Number One Bearded Collie and Number Three Herding Dog with seven BIS and 30 Herding Groups this year.

Both Turner and JP would be back in the afternoon to try their luck with BIS judge Dr Wanda Spediacci.  Joining them were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH The Dutchess Vom Deppe-Haus JH DS, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Hobarra’s I Dreamed a Dream, the aforementioned Airedale, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Aloha’s Million Dollar Baby Gingery, and the Chow Chow, GCH CH Chowlamar’s Rebelrun Mr Kidd.

GCH CH The Dutchess Vom Deppe-Haus JH DS

The big rosette would go to the Bullmastiff, JP, and the reserve ribbon to the GSP, Dutchess.  JP won the breed at last February's Westmisnter Kennel Club show at the astonishingly young age of 17 months.  Now the precocious youngster has his first all breed BIS at just 21 months.  Imagine what he'll be doing when he starts to mature.  Congratulations to breeders Craig Mitchell Garcia & Dwight Clark Yeager, owners Robert Korber & Victor Caldas, and handler Kent MacFarlane.
