The biggest prize of the week is today’s Beaver County Kennel Club show in Canfield OH.  With almost 2000 dogs entered today’s BIS winner will have their current standing in the rankings vastly improved.

The seven dogs that hoped to persuade judge Charlotte Patterson to give him/her those points were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Portuguese water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Whisper, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Halls, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy of Merivern.

The dog getting the points was the Portie, Matisse.  The dog getting second place and a fraction of the points was the Pug, JJ.  Today’s win, Matisse’s 49th of the year, puts him within 5,000 points of the Number One Dog, the Wire Fox, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky…but then we haven’t heard from the west coast yet.  Stay with us.  Dog Show Poop is the only online service that will tell you what every BIS means in the rankings.

Classie’s 40th BIS of the year is likely to leave her status unchanged, still well behind the Number Two Dog, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, and well ahead of the Number Four Dog, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, both of whom have collected BIS in Canfield OH where the points are much larger than they are in Salem.

DAY TWO IN MARSHALL MI

In Marshall MI the seven dogs who made Dr James Sillers’ final at the day two show of the Jaxon Kennel Club were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Nonnies No Doubt, the Black & Tan Coonhound, GCH CH Foxfire’s Full Force Gale, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Darbydale’s Don’t Stop Bellevin’ RN, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Bells Will Be Ringing, the Keeshond, GCH CH KJ’s Hot Date, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Karizma’s Ike of Edale.

His Best was the Coonhound, Molly, and his Reserve was the 23 month old Keeshond.  It’s the first BIS for the three year old bitch. Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Robert Urban and owner Andrea McIlwaine.  We hope to have a photo for you soon.

DAY TWO IN CANFIELD OH

GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour

We had expected that this week’s Steel Valley Cluster in Canfield OH would generate some sparks and today's Columbiana Kennel Club show did not disappoint.  Yesterday the country’s Number Two Dog, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, opened the set with a BIS.  Today, Matisse, saw judge Garry Newton send another Working Dog forward to Robert Slay’s final, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour.  Dora and handler Amy Booth would take theBIS.

Judge Slay would also like the Chesapeake Bay Retriever,  GCH CH Chesastar Hudson Bay RN, who was his RBIS, more than the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Pug, GCH CH Hill Country Tag I’m It, the Lowchen,  GCH CH Paceaway Play It Again, and the Bearded Collie, CH Briarpatch Kit’N Kaboodle.  Dora started the week as the Number Five Dog All Breeds.  This win, her 16th of the year, will make her the Number Four Dog, at least until we get the rest of the weekend’s results in.
