GET AWAY TO A DOG SHOW

El Morro Fort, San Juan PR

The coming weekend should bring us bigger numbers than last weekend and a couple of opportunities to get away from it all.

In the Northeast we expect lots of dogs and lots of heavy competition in Harrisburg PA where the Lebanon County Kennel Club, the Mason And Dixon Kennel Club , & Harrisburg Kennel Club will start their four days on Friday or you can opt for the two offered by the Providence County Kennel Club and Rhode Island Kennel Club in Providence RI and Warwick RI.  (Why can’t these clubs agree on a common site?  It is such a pain to pull up and move in the middle of a set.)

Down south of Atlanta in Perry GA, the Valdosta Kennel Club will start things off on Thursday with their two shows, followed by the Atlanta Kennel Club’s Saturday offering.  Hound fanciers will stay on through Sunday for the North Georgia Hound Association competition.   Our lone Midwest offering is the two day stop by the Steel City Kennel Club in Crown Point IN.

A central location and the Northeast Oklahoma Kennel Club’s & Bartlesville Kennel Club’s four all breed shows are sure to attract some big numbers to Grove OK starting Thursday.   Texans will be in the state capital for two with the Austin Kennel Club.

Out west we expect the Northern California Terrier Association’s two limited breed shows on Thursday & Friday in Sacramento CA to augment the already large numbers for the weekend’s Sacramento Kennel Club’s two shows.  In the Pacific Northwest the place to be is Moses Lake WA for the Ephrata-Moses Lake Kennel Club’s twofer.

Finally for those seeking a vacation with dogs, try the four shows in Bayamon PR hosted by the Caribe Kennel Club & the Ponce Kennel Club, starting Thursday, or head to Kaneohe HI for a weekend with the Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association.
