CHAIN O'LAKES KC DAY ONE

Luc Boilleau had the opener in Grayslake IL for the Chain O’Lakes Kennel Club.  Presenting themselves for consideration were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfiled-Sanchu Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Remember When, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Pem We-Syng Lucky Mi, the Dalmatian, CH Mapleaf Don't Stop Believin in Sun Runner, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Dreamline Starphire Mahalo

The two little guys claimed the day with the Chin, Mimi, taking the Reserve, and the Russell, Bosse grabbing the Best In Show.  Bosse is the only Russell to take a BIS in the US since the breed was introduced in mid 2012.  Bosse’s second BIS of 2013 brings his career total to six.

Gay Dunlap had the judge’s book at the day two show of the Baton Rouge Kennel Club in Alexandria LA.  Her seven hopefuls were the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea JH, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Faouziah's Faramir, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby's Toast with Gusto, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinful, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH LTO Prosperity, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Best went to the Corgi, Libby, and Reserve went to the Swiss, Gus.  Libby closed 2012 as the country’s Number One Cardigan Welsh Corgi, and the Number Two Herding Dog with eight BIS and 57 Herding Groups. Congratulations to breeders/owners Cynthia & Vincent Savioli, co-breeder Shawn Michael, and handler Sherri Hurst.

The Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, has picked up her fourth consecutive BIS.  The latest win came on Friday in Ocala at the day two show of the Lake Eustis Kennel Club.

Beth Speich’s final also included the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Foxvale Foxbrooke Dare To Cruise, the Whippet, Harmony's Lucky Man, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Bella Donna, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broxden Danea, her RBIS, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Bret D N Engine Co To The Rescue, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Fields Heiress HSAs.

Although Classie’s BIS may not be as large as those in Palm Springs and Portland, put enough of them together and you’re Number Four Dog All Breeds.

BATON ROUGE KC DAY ONE

Dr Eric Liebes had the final today for the opener of the four day stop in Alexandria LA for the Baton RougeKennel Club.  The seven he saw were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Win'Weim's It's My Grey Goose, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Faouziah's Faramir, the Greater Swiss Mountain Dog, GCH CH Derby's Toast with Gusto, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake Simply Sinful, the Pug, GCH CH Sweetbriar Boo-Koo Bucks, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Jade East Do You Know The Way To San Jose, and the Australian Shepherd, Harmony Hill's Money Talks.

BIS went to one of the new faces on the circuit, the Swiss, Gus, while the Pug took home the RBIS.  Among Gus more significant wins was the breed at last month’s AKC/Eukanuba National Championship,

FLORIDA MARATHON, DAY NINE



GCH CH Marlex Classie Red Glare

The Florida Marathon resumed today in Ocala FL with the Lake Eustis Kennel Club first show of the last leg.  Terry Goldman chose her top two from the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Whippet, CH Boehm Swan Song, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s Witching Hour, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’Cobe Broxden Danea, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classie Red Glare, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Kan Sing’s Tenzin, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables Frosted Footsteps.

Picking up her third consecutive BIS was the MinPin, Classie, while the RBIS went to the Giant, Dora.  Classie and owner/handler Armando Angelbello chose to begin their season with the Florida Marathon and have collected three BIS and seven Group Ones so far.  That choice has made Classie the Number One Toy Dog and the Number Seven Dog All Breeds.
