GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan's Wake

Today’s Lima Kennel Club in Columbus OH offered up the largest point total of the week and it drew the largest number of the Top 100 Dogs All Breeds.   The seven that BIS judge Nelson Huber saw were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaz'R 'N Wingfield Time Will Tell, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Tells Matrix Reloaded, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Blackhawk Finnegan's Wake, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsand's Columbus, the Toy Poodle, CH Baliwick Behold and Believe, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine's Deck The Halls, and the Icelandic Sheepdog, GCH CH Vinlands Leifur CGC.

Collecting all those points was the Schnauzer, Finn.  Getting the Reserve ribbon and the photo op was the Russell, Bosse.  Finn is the nation’s Number Four Working Dog with five BIS and 39 Working Groups.

The annual Saturday Kennel Club of Philadelphia show is surpassed only by the Westminster Kennel Club show as the most recognized dog event in the US.  The Thanksgiving Day broadcast has assured the show as a family holiday tradition in many US homes. 

Judge Randy Garren was in charge of today’s final and had the pleasant task of considering the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Yarrow Venerie Ticket To Ride, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee Easily Persuaded, the Bichon Frise,  GCH CH Vogelflight's "Honor" To Pillowtalk, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Ha’Penny Miriamar The Fab Fawn.

Getting the Thanksgiving Day limelight was the Foxhound, Jewel.  Sharing the stage will be the Norfolk, Rider.  Jewel is America’s Number One Hound and the Number Five Dog All Breeds with 32 BIS and 98 Hound Groups.

OCALA FL DAY THREE

Our first set of today’s results comes in from Ocala FL and the Greater Ocala Dog Club.  Judge Sandra Walker had the last say today, choosing her top two from the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Fieldstone Carousel Hell's Kitchen, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Phelps Insignia, the Great Dane, GCH CH Longo Miller n Lore’s Diamond Lil, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Goodtime Charlie, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Kaylen’s Oh Really, a Xoloitzcuintli from the classes, Blancho-O’s Carolina Herrera, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek’s Galaxy of Merivern.

The two she chose were the Great Dane, Scout, and the Greyhound, Freckles.  Scout is the nation’s Number Three Working dog and Number Nine Dog All Breeds with 23 BIS and 50 Working Groups in 2013.

DAY TWO IN ROSEBURG OR



GCH CH M & M’s Fear The Beard

Friday was day two for the Umpqua Kennel Club in Roseburg OR.  The seven dogs that stayed all day to see judge Carolyn Herbel were the Vizsla, GCH CH Jabren’s Irish Star, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH M & M’s Fear The Beard, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Peace River’s Gathers No Moss Sunstra, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Regency Play For Keeps, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Kulana Sh-Boom, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind’s Rumour Has It, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Take Aim’s Playing For Gryffndor.

The two she liked were the PBGV, Wilson, and the Crested, Holly.  It’s the third BIS of the year for Wilson.

TUCSON DAY ONE



GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky

AKC’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, surfaced yesterday in Tucson AZ at the day one show of the hometown Tucson Kennel Club.  Sky and handler Gabriel Rangel would join the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Portuguese water Dog, GCH CH Roseknoll Sunny Benjamin, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Forestcreek Louisiana Lagniappe, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Kastle’s Go Speed Racer, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Allure at Wyndstar, in judge Robert Whitney’s final.

Judge Whitney would name Sky his BIS and the Corgi, Allie, his RBIS.  That’s 76 BIS in 128 trips to the final ring this year.
