AKITA TAKES PHILLY OPENER

GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret

One of the most prestigious stops on the dog calendar is the Philadelphia Cluster, four shows in suburban Philadelphia, that includes that Thanksgiving Day TV tradition, the Kennel Club of Philadelphia’s Saturday show.  The stop draws top contenders from all over the US.  We had hoped that today’s opener, hosted by the Penn Treaty Kennel Club,  would feature head to head competition between our Top To Dogs All Breeds, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH AfterAll Painting the Sky, and the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse.  Both dogs were entered today, but were absent.

GCH CH Yakee’s Easily Persuaded

However, there were several more of the Top 100 present just to keep things interesting.  The seven dogs that made it to judge Terry Stacy’s final were the Golden Retriever, My Buddy’s Times They Are A’Changing, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Bedlington Terrier, GCH CH Wrightwyn’s Power Play, the Pekingese, GCH CH Yakee’s Easily Persuaded, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Pine Hill's Payday Of Hayshill.

Taking the day one honors were the Akita, Trader, and the Peke, Rodger.  Trader is the nation’s Number Six Working Dog with six BIS and 30 Working Groups.
