KENNEL CLUB OF PHILADELPHIA

The judges’ were all done up in their evening wear this afternoon in suburban Philadelphia where today’s Kennel Club of Philadelphia show was being taped for broadcast on Thanksgiving Day.

Karen Wilson welcomed a glamorous seven to her final, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Bernese Mountain Dog, Blumoon's Tanzenite v Blackrock, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Propwash Reckon.

Millions of viewers will witness the Wire Fox, Eira, take home one of AKC’s most prestigious titles.  It was the 15th BIS for Eira & handler Gabriel Rangel.  Eleven of those big rosettes have come in the last three months.  Look for the broadcast of the show on your local NBC affiliate immediately after the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.

OCALA FL DAY THREE OF FOUR

The hometown Greater Ocala Dog Club took over today and put Cindy Meyer in the final ring with the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Bandog’s Brutus Raven, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Homebrewed Page Three Girl, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Dancee Moonlight Fashion, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Bandog Bayou’s The Warrior, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy of Merivern.

The Cocker, Beckham, took home his second BIS of the stop, bringing his AKC leading total for the year to 61.

Today’s final at the Lima Kennel Club show in Columbus OH must have seemed familiar as all seven of yesterday’s finalists returned to see Helen Winski Stein.  They were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the one newcomer, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol‘s Veni Vidi Vici, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Castle Rock's Sbigstaff Mad About You, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkein Raintree Mister Baggins..

She chose the Afghan, Mowgli, as her Best.  Mowgli, America’s Number One Afghan Hound, has collected seven BIS & 24 Hound Groups as well as BISS at the Afghan Hound Club of America’s 2011 National Specialty.

BOCA RATON DOG CLUB, AT LAST

It’s been nearly two weeks since the Boca Raton (FL) Dog Club’s show on November 6th, but we want to make sure that we don’t leave anyone out in our reporting.

Donald Booxbaum’s seven finalists were the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Rosewater New Yorker, the Whippet, GCH CH Karasar's Masterpiece, the Rottweiler, CH Ivoss Sonny's Angel, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Snowbank Dash `N Dazzle, the Havanese, CH Mystic Ji Jo's Virgil Earp, the French Bulldog, CH Motif's Hemingways Whiskey, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Get Over It.

Best was the Whippet, Juliet.  We are graced this year again with a very competitive group of Whippets, making it tough to even get out of the breed at many shows.  Juliet has managed to make it to the final ring eight times this year and has finally been rewarded with her first BIS of the year.  Juliet becomes the eighth Whippet shown to an All Breed Best In Show by breeder/owner Kerrie Kuper, a record for the breed.  Congratulations to Kerrie and co-owner Neil Barthelette.

Now, can anyone tell me where I can get the Puerto Rico results from earlier this month?

SALISBURY NORTH CAROLINA KC

GCH CH Holly Wood’s Sex and the City

Concord NC joined the all breed action yesterday with the Salisbury North Carolina Kennel Club show.  Des Manton chose his BIS from the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Mahali Rustic Ringmaster, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Holly Wood’s Sex and the City, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknor’s Cross the Ts, the Chinese Crested Pammar Pirates of the Caribean, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Flolin TellSomeone, and the Border Collier, GCH CH Kennsington’s Artful Dodger.

Best went to the Doberman, Miranda.  It was Miranda’s first BIS in four final appearances this year.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Diane McGarvey & Mike Thomas, and Esteban Farias.

BACK2BACK IN ROSEBURG OR

We’ve been told that the country’s Number One Terrier, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, has picked up his second consecutive BIS out in Roseburg OR.  Joining Adam and handler Eddie Boyes in Jeanne Zaver’s final at the day two show  of the Umpqua Kennel Club were the Parti-Color Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH My-Ida-Ho Jems Captain, the Borzoi, GCH CH Aashtoria Wildhunt Hidden Agenda, the Newfoundland, GCH CH BigDogFarm Oh My Baby Huey, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere's Dusting Off White At Pevyne, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Silveroaks First & Foremost, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Rainedance Written In Stone PT AX AXJ.

 We’re not sure Adam’s 19th big rosette will get him into the Top Ten Dogs All Breeds, but it will get him very close.

Frank Sabella had today’s final for the Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association.  Vying for his attention were the Pointer, GCH CH Tahari's To Wild To Be Serious, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Torquay’s Midnight Confession, the  Cane Corso CH Firehorse Franklin, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ta Sen Bond James Bond, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim’s Captain Crunch.

His BIS was the Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Joey looks to finish the year with a flourish, adding his 29th all breed Best to his 2011 take.

OCALA FL DAY TWO OF FOUR

It was a good day for breeder/owner  Carol Harris, the 2010 AKC Breeder of the Year (Toy Group), who had two of her dogs in today’s Seminole Dog Fanciers Association’s final.  Her Whippet, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Speed Demon was Lawrence Terricone’s BIS pick over the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, a Portuguese Water Dog from the 12-18 month class, Driftwood The One That I Want Of Amethyst Acers, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, Carol’s Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Open Button (the Number One Italian Greyhound in the US), and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Wolf Creek Galaxy Of Merivern.

It was the third all breed Best this year for Demon and handler Justin Smithey.  We love it when a great breeding program gets recognition in the show ring.

DAYTON KENNEL CLUB

The Dayton Kennel Club had day two in Columbus OH.  Roger Gifford’s final seven included six of the prior day’s finalists, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the one newcomer, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol‘s Veni Vidi Vici, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Castle Rock's Sbigstaff Mad About You, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkein Raintree Mister Baggins.

It was the newcomer, the Doberman, FiFi, taking snapping up the BIS.  Of course, Fifi, the nation’s Number One Doberman and Number Four Working Dog, is no newbie.  This is her 14th BIS this year.

ROSEBURG OR DAY ONE OF FOUR

Before we get to today’s shows, let’s catch you up on yesterday’s Umpqua Kennel Club show in Roseburg OR.  Pat Trotter’s seven included the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Mountain View National Acclaim, the Whippet, GCH CH Endeavor's White Roses on Nysa Hill, the Newfoundland, GCH CH BigDogFarm Oh My Baby Huey, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneaks a Peek, the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Linshires Rolling Stone, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Hiwood’s Big Shot, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Rainedance Written In Stone PT AX AXJ.

She chose the Number On Terrier in the US, the Smooth Fox, Adam, as her BIS.  Adam has had a remarkable batting average this year, gaining a Number 13 Dog All Breeds  ranking in limited showing.  Adam & handler Eddie Boyes have 18 big rosettes this year.

PENN TREATY KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

The Penn Treaty Kennel Club is doing the two warm ups for Saturday’s prestigious Kennel Club of Philadelphia show, which will be broadcast nation wide on Thanksgiving day.

As such, judge Rita Biddle was treated to the special seven of the Pointer, GCH CH Tahari's To Wild To Be Serious, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Mi-Ti's Three Cheers, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon’s Blue Thunder.

Her choice for Best was the Whippet, Chanel.  Cha Cha, the winningest Whippet in AKC history, has collected 32 of her career 65 Bests this year, as well as an astonishing 117 Hound Groups.

COLUMBUS OH DAY ONE OF FOUR

Our next report in is from the Sandusky Kennel Club show in Columbus OH.  Betty-Anne Stenmark’s powerhouse final featured the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Boxer, CH Sapphire’s Violet Sky in Vegas of Streamline, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Castle Rock's Sbigstaff Mad About You, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkein Raintree Mister Baggins.

Her Best In Show was the Standard Poodle, London.   London  and handle Ann Rairigh are another pair that are finishing the year with a big surge, with eight BIS in the last three weeks, to bring their 2011 total to 31.

 Our pre-Thanksgiving week is off and running with all breed shows underway today in Pennsylvania, Florida, Ohio, Oklahoma, & Oregon. 

From Ocala FL we hear that Houston Clark’s BIS was the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction.   Beckham was challenged by the Saluki, GCH CH Bahia Persian of Interest NA NAJ SC, the Boxer, CH Bo-Pa’s Grand Slam, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Major league’s Silver Slugger, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Open Button, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Karosel Kartwheels.

Beckham and handlers Michael &Linda Pitts have been collecting big rosettes at an enviable rate, collecting ten of his 60 BIS this year, in the last five weeks, and this is just Thursday.

ALABAMA, FINALLY

We can now give you the results from this past week’s four show cluster in Priceville AL.  The Huntsville Kennel Club had the first two days and they chose Gene Blake to do their Thursday final.  As we previously reported here he chose the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, as his  BIS.  He might have chosen the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Braerwood Reflection Spectacular Storm, the Norwegian Elkhound, GCH CH Vin-Melca's The Norseman, the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Lancelot Chiornyy Prints, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Temris Bully For Me, the Keeshond, CH Karolina Bonnyvale Meant to Be, or the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim's Captain Crunch, but he didn‘t.

Classie and owner/handler Armando Angelbello would leave Alabama after Friday’s final and go on to their home state of Florida to pick up another BIS at the Brandon Florida Kennel Club show on Monday, finishing the week with five Toy groups and two BIS, pretty spiffy.

On Friday, it was Nathaniel Horn at the HKC’s day two show in the final ring with Classie, the Brittany, GCH CH Dual Lanes Cam JH, above named Elkhound, the Samoyed, GCH CH Tobil Storm Warning At Sunrise , the Miniature Bull Terrier, CH Cambrias Kind-N-Play, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Ta Sen Bond James Bond , and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.

He went with the Puli, Ziggy.  It’s the third big rosette this year for America’s Number One Puli.

The Decatur Alabama Kennel Club took over on Saturday and put Robert Vandiver in the final ring with the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Kaltrav Carribean Cruise JH, the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Zilya’s Chicago Blues Fusion at RN C, Friday’s Miniature Bull Terrier, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Austin Powers, the Bulldog, GCH CH Itsa Brix, and the previously mentioned GSD.

Judge Vandiver put the big rosette in the hands of Lenny Brown, standing in for the regular handler of the GSD, Capi.  Capi is the Number One Herding Dog (based on all breed points), with 24 BIS & 93 Herding Groups.

Stephanie Seabrook Hedgepath closed the four day set calling the BIS for the DAKC second show.  Her options were the previously finalist, the Brittany, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Suncrest Sharp Dressed Man, the Tibetan Mastiff, GCH CH Dream Catcher Major Victor of Loki, the Miniature Bull Terrier, CH Cambrias Kind-N-Play, the aforementioned Shih Tzu, the Shiba Inu, GCH CH Kobuchi Justa Draco Rosso, and the GSD, Capi.

Taking home the cluster’s last big rosette was the Brittany, Cam.  It’s the first for the Cam.  Congratulations breeders Louise M Brown & Herbert & Donna Harrison, owners Christopher & Leslie Robinson & Katherine Sullivan, and handler David M Harper.

TUCSON AZ DAY FOUR

The Madera Canyon Kennel Club finished up the four day set in Tucson AZ with Dr Sophia Kaluzniacki’s final.  She chose her Best from the English Setter, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Kilyka’s King Of Cool, the Lakeland Terrier, CH. Iron Van Foliny Home, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Cashnross‘ First Griff Tina Fey, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Kastle’s Go Speed Racer, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lakota’s Hitman Of Cantar.

Her BIS went to the GSD, Wallace.  It’s the first BIS for the three year old dog.  Congratulations to breeders/owners R Alcantara Jr & V Cayer, co-breeder S Moses, and owners S & E Brehony.

We don’t have all the results in yet from this past weekend, but we want to get you looking at this coming week, one of our busiest in a while.

For those of you haven’t had your 15 minutes of fame yet, head to the City of Brotherly Love, Philadelphia PA on Thursday, where the Penn Treaty Kennel Club, the Greater Philadelphia Dog Fanciers Association, & the Kennel Club Of Philadelphia will treat you to four days of all breed shows.  Even better, if you win the breed at Saturday’s KCP event, you will be seen on TV in millions of American homes on Thanksgiving Day. 

If you can’t make it to Philadelphia, you still will have lots of opportunities to spend multiple days indulging your dog show appetite.  In upstate New York you can get three days in Syracuse with the Chenango Valley Kennel Club, the Central New York Kennel Club, & the Del-Otse-Nango Kennel Club.  Our Mid-Atlantic offering this week is in Concord NC where the Carolina Terrier Association will do a limited breed warm up for the Salisbury North Carolina Kennel Club, the Greater Monroe Kennel Club, & the Fayetteville Kennel Club.  Down in Ocala FL the Seminole Dog Fanciers Association & the Greater Ocala Dog Club, will team for four shows starting Thursday.

Our Great Lakes offerings this week are in Columbus OH where the Sandusky Kennel Club, the Dayton Kennel Club, the Lima Kennel Club, & the Central Ohio Kennel Club will set up on Thursday and in Shakopee MN for a weekend with the Minneapolis Kennel Club.   Fanciers in the Great Plains States will have lots of options choosing from two days in Lincoln NE with the Council Bluffs Kennel Club, four days in Chickasha OK with the Canadian Valley Kennel Club & the Town And Country Kennel Club, and two days  in Houston TX with the Brazoria Kennel Club. 

We have a full schedule out west where we will stay another four days in Tucson AZ, this time with the Tucson Kennel Club & the Greater Sierra Vista Kennel Club.  There is action up & down the West Coast including three days in Paso Robles CA starting Friday with the San Luis Obispo Kennel Club & the Santa Maria Kennel Club, four days in Roseburg OR with the Umpqua Kennel Club & the Rogue Valley Kennel Club, and a traditional two day weekend in Monroe WA hosted by the Whidbey Island Kennel Club.

Have a great doggy week before the relatives descend upon you for the Thanksgiving Holiday and if you are showing in Philadelphia, buy a TV friendly outfit and hope for a breed win.  Please, no short skirts, plaid jackets, or DayGlo ties.  People will have just eaten.

OZARKS KENNEL CLUB

We now have results from the Ozarks Kennel Club’s two shows this past weekend in Springfield MO.  On Saturday Dr Steve Keating went over the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Mastiffs, CH Kingmont’s Kalifornia Dreamin, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Skyscot’s Texas Hold’Em, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla’s Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Lhasa Apso, , Monarch Rufkins Tango in Paris, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

His BIS was the Norwich, Decker.  It’s Decker’s second BIS of the year, both coming in just the last 30 days.  This boy is certainly a chip off the stack of his celebrated father, CG Skyscot’s Poker Chip.  We think this is a DOG2WATCH.

Sunday, Decker and the above named Springer, Greyhound, & Springer would all be back to see BIS judge Dr Robert Berndt.  They were joined by the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Brussels Griffon, CH Endor Donanddru’s New Moon, and the Schipperke, GCH CH Dante’s Fire When Ready HOF.

He would choose the country’s Number Two Sporting Dog, the Springer, Peyton.  Peyton has been lurking just outside the door of the Top Ten for much of the year.   We’ll wait until all the weekend’s numbers are to see how close he’s come.

BRANDON FLORIDA KC

If you have spent any time around Miniature Pinschers you know that they seem to come at you from every direction and so it must seem to the dogs competing against the MinPin, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, this week.  Classie and owner/handler Armando Angelbello started the weekend in Alabama on Thursday collecting two Toy Group Firsts and a BIS before returning to their home state of Florida where they picked up another three Toy Groups and today’s BIS at the Brandon Florida Kennel Club ‘s show in Brooksville FL.

Joining Classie in LaMar Mathis’ final today were the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Signal Hill Joey, the Bluetick Coonhound, CH Charwin Fairmont Sweet Society Blue Snuff, the Standard Schnauzer Bardwoods Black Prince, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Prada Classic Aran Isle at Donellas, the GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker , and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.

Classie has turned on the rockets of late picking up nine of her 20 BIS this year, in the last 45 days.  We can’t wait to see this one in Orlando next month.

TUCSON AZ DAYS 1,2, & 3

We are going to take you out to Tucson AZ where the Canada Del Oro Kennel Club & the Madera Canyon Kennel Club teamed up for four shows this weekend.  The CDOKC had Friday & Saturday and the MCKC had yesterday & today.  The Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Caryola’s Antigua, dominated the first two days capturing both the big rosettes offered by the CDOKC. 

On Friday Ana and handler Andy Linton were accompanied in William Setbbins final by the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Darkover Don’t Dream It’s Over,  the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss And Tell, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart, the Pekingese, GCH CH Windemere’s Dusting Of White, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Lebull’s New Hope Woolybully, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Segni At Coventry. 

On Sunday Ana was the only one of Friday’s finalists to  see BIS judge Beverly Vics.  There to challenge Ana were the English Setter, GCH CH Oakley’s B’Dazzled, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH InvictusNightmare Before Xmas, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Baye, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the  Dalmatian, GCH CH Kastle’s Go Speed Racer, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum Of Samara.

That would leave Ana’s 2011 record as of this post as three BIS and 15 Working Group Firsts.

Sunday BIS judge Patricia Leakey Brenner would decide among Ana, the previously mentioned Bloodhound, Wire, & Frenchie, the Labrador Retriever, GCH CH Char-Don Ms T’s Rockin Tyme, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Hosanna Danica Dancing In The Rain, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lakota’s Hitman Of Cantar.

We now have all the results in from the Cypress Creek Kennel Club’s two shows in Houston TX this weekend.  On Saturday Robert Frost greeted the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Jodell's Boogie Back To Texas Of MNM, the Great Dane, GCH CH Ruby's Jewel Of Honesty, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Torum The Spaniard, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Royalist Ready To Reign, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy, and the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Dawn Heir's He's The Boss.

His Best was the nation’s Number Ten Dog All Breeds, the Bichon, Drummer.  Drummer has been keeping in step with the rest of the Top Ten, adding his 23rd BIS of the season.

On Sunday Drummer, the previously named PBGV & Toy Spaniel, were joined in Dr Arthur Sorkin’s final by the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, GCH CH Chesabar's Anyone Anyone, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Ingebars Siasconset Rose, the Scottish Terrier, Kelwyn's History In The Making, the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Hearthside Leave A Message.

BIS was the PBGV, Texas.  Texas has been staying pretty close to home this year, but has collected four all breed Bests and 18 Hound Groups.

Our next report comes in from Brooksville FL where they closed the Hernando County Kennel Club‘s two day stay.  Tim Catterson chose his BIS from the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Gemini Fallchase The Butler Did It, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Kimani's Sneak Preview, the Great Dane, GCH CH Bayside Just A Gentleman, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, Dalmatian, GCH CH Spotlight‘s Storm Chaser, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.

Best In Show was the winningest Skye Terrier in AKC history, Buddy.  The Number Three Terrier now has 14 all breed Bests and 102 Terrier Group Firsts this year, more than the Number One & Two Terriers combined.

Andrew Mills had his choice of the Spinoni Itlaiano, CH Dry Grass’ Jammin’ Marley, the Irish Wolfhound, GCH CH Pinehurst Garret, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Smooth Fox Terrier, High Mountain Everso in Command, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow of Cornus.

He chose the Bichon, Honor, as his Best In Show.   Honor and handler Lisa Bettis have collected six BIS & 37 Non-Sporting Group Firsts.

Best was the Weimaraner, Jimmie.  That’s the seventh BIS & the 41st Sporting Group for the Number Four Sporting Dog.

The Souhegan Kennel Club was batting clean up today in Fitchburg MA, the last of the four show weekend.  Anne Katona’s seven survivors were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Pineridge Jake’s Best Chance RN, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Langrigg Star of the Stage, the Samoyed, GCH CH Snokrest’s Bubbles LaRue, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Larkspur Acadia Save Med A Spot, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Kimro’s Dora The Explorer, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwoood Ale Kai Anthony, and the Old English sheepdog, GCH CH Winddfall Slam Dunk.

Her BIS was the Sammie, Bubbles.  It’s the first BIS for the two year old bitch.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Donna Glickman & Beth Oneppo and owner Eliza Wong.

Down in Winston-Salem NC Bradley Jenkins was putting the finishing touches on the day two show of the Furniture City Kennel Club.  Making the pitch to judge Jenkins were the Pointer, edge hill’s Thankful Gameshow, the 13” Beagle, GCH CH Lanbur Quest for the Best, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Krissy’s Malibu Dreams, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hitide Eclipse, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Brookridge Pop Secret.

Best went to the Beagle, Truman.  It’s the first all breed Best for Truman.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Jon Woodring & Wade S Burns and owners Cassie Milller & Chris Miller.

Don Evans wrapped up the five day stay in Salisbury MD with the Mispillion Kennel Club’s final.  The seven who stayed for the last ring were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Northwood’s Send Money Honey, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH McVan's Be Bop Baby, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Bichon Frise, CH Vogelflight's Taywyn Tarragon, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

It was the country’s Number One Working Dog, the Boxer, Scarlett, picking up her 31st BIS of the season.  Scarlett and handler Diego Garcia have also amassed a very impressive 88 Working Group firsts.

The Grand Rapids Kennel Club closed the set in Kalamazoo MI with Stephen Hurt in the final ring.   His seven were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Cane Corso, GCH CH Sleeping Giant's Vittore , the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Waybroke Broxden Turning Tanner, the Long Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Kokura Yama Jp Emirio, yesterday’s BIS winner, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Skylyne’s Walk The Line.

Packing his suitcase with one more big rosette was the Cocker, Beckham.  Beckham apparently has no intention of coasting to the finish line as he extends his 2011 BIS take to 59.

The Furniture City Kennel Club opened their two show stop in Winston-Salem NC yesterday  and put Cornelia Howard in the final ring.  Her seven hopefuls were the Part-Colored Cocker Spaniel, CH See Mar Nan Its Time To Party At Maroxy, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Hicotton Sweet Baby James, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Australian Terrier, GCH CH Kambara’s Zebulon, the Japanese Chin, Chindale’s Oriental Infusion, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hitide Eclipse, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Masquerade Mikey Likes It.

Her BIS was the Aussie, Zeb.  The winningest Australian Terrier in AKC history now has four all breed Bests and 18 Terrier Groups this year.

We have the results from yesterday’s Southern Colorado Kennel Club show in Pueblo CO.  Garry Newton’s final included the Brittany, CH Trio’s Mr Rocktober, the Irish Wolfhound, GCH CH Pinehurst Garret, the Kuvazs, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Scott's Masquerade. the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogelflight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow of Cornus.

The one he chose was the country’s Number Seven Dog All Breeds, the Kuvasz, Tanner.  Tanner joined the Top Ten early in the year and has never left.  He and handler Diana Wilson now have 17 BIS and 61 Working Group Firsts.
