MARSHVILLE WI DAY TWO

Stephen Hubbel had the final ring on day two in Marshfield WI for the Marshfield Area Kennel Club.

The seven he saw were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Royal Guardian's That's My Boy, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Fort Merrill Topsfield Yahoo, the Bullmastiff, CH Leatherneck Law N Order O Kilroy, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Abbeyrose Jersey Boy, the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Gemstone's Hips Don't Lie Eng, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Northwind Nothing But Trouble, the Rough Collie, CH Wyndlair Cherokee Vindication.

Best went to the Basset, Yahoo.  It was just last month that handler Brian Martin put the first BIS on Yahoo.  We imagine number three will be coming soon.

ST CLAIRSVILLE OHIO KC DAY ONE

GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici

The St Clairsville Ohio Kennel Club opened their two day stop in their hometown and closed day one with Wendy Willhauck’s final.

The seven seeking her approval were the English Setter, GCH CH BJ'S Silverline Echo Of Emrock, the Greyhound, GCH CH CrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknor’s Cross the Ts, the Pug, CH Riversong’s Doc Holiday, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Vogel flight’s “Honor” to Pillowtalk, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.

Best went to the Doberman, FiFi.  FiFi is having a hot time this summer with her second BIS in the last week, bringing her 2011 total to nine.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Jocelyn & Kevin Mullinsand owners Suzy & Dick Lundy.


WACHUSETT KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot

Results are in from Fitchburg MA and the day one show of the Wachusett Kennel Club.  

Judge Susan St John Brown chose her BIS from the Irish Setter, GCH CH Shadagee Red Delicious, the Borzoi, GCH CH Greyhaven Wizard's Crystal, the Boxer, CH Pleasant Hollow's All Time High, a Lakeland Terrier from the Open Dog class, Larkspur Acadia Save Me A Spot, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Kimro's Dora The Explorer, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Salishan's My Special Angel, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Windfall Slam Dunk.

Her Best was the 19 month old Lakeland, Spot.  Spot’s first AKC BIS completes his championship.  That's the way to punctuate a title.  Congratulations to breeder/owner/handler Susan Fraser, breeder/owner Maria Sacco, and co-breeders Norm & Lynda Kenney.

MUNCIE IN DAY TWO

It was day two in Muncie IN Friday and BIS judge Dr Eric Liebes had his choice of the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Wingates Its All About Me, the Greyhound, GCH CH Gaia Elfin Dance, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Kenro's Fleeting Moment, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Waybroke Broxden Turning Tanner, the Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, the Schipperke, GCH CH Danter Fire when Ready HOF, and the Briard, CH Le Coeur D'Ange De Briardale.

He chose the sleek Greyhound.  It’s the second this season for the five year old, who now has 18 Hound Group Firsts in 2011.

TOPEKA KS DAY ONE

They got things rolling in Topeka KA Friday with the Greater Emporia Kennel Club’s show, the first of four shows scheduled this weekend for that Kansas town.

Carol Kniebusch Noe’s lineup included the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Harrier, CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Great Dane, GCH CH Lobato's Code Red, the Colored Bull Terrier, CH Glentom You Were Mint for Me, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

Once again we had a face off between the Country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Cocker, Beckham, and the Number Two Dog, the Peke, Malachy.  Today the big rosette went to Malachy  & owner/handler David Fitzpatrick.  If you are within a tank of gas of Topeka we encourage you to get out to one of the three remaining shows to see these two and the other great AKC dogs gathered there.

The Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club kicked off the three day weekend in Marshfield WI.

James Noe chose his BIS from the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summits Emery It’s in the Bag, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH Raydachs Playing With Fire V Gleishorbach SW, the Rottweiler, CH Bernkastel's Chunk Of Topaz, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Abbeyrose Jersey Boy, the Papillon, CH Ashlor's Smooth Sailing UD RE OA OAJ, the Keeshond, CH Dreamwood's Rock The Boat, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Frontier's License To Carry All Margaux.

He chose the Golden, Chloe, as his Best.  It’s the sixth this year for Chloe.

MUNCIE IN DAY ONE

The show week got underway today in Muncie IN with the first of four shows hosted by the Muncie Kennel Club & the Anderson Kennel Club.

Tim Catterson had the BIS ring for the MKC and his pick of the Brittany, GCH CH Shellitany Against All Odds, the Greyhound, GCH CH Gaia Elfin Dance, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Spicerack She's All That RN, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Brightluck's Prancing Pirate JE, the Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Briard, CH Le Coeur D'Ange De Briardale.

Day one went to the Pug, Rufus.  Rufus has been among the nation’s top dogs since the beginning of the season.  Today was his eighth all breed Best and 27th Toy Group First.

MINNESOTA FINALISTS

You may recall that we told you that the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, pulled off the hat trick this past weekend, taking home the big rosettes from the Kennel Club Of Freeborn County Minnesota’s two shows in Albert Lea MN & from the Greater Racine Kennel Club’s Monday show in their Wisconsin hometown.

We promised you the names of all of the Minnesota finalists and now we have them.  On Saturday, the Springer, Peyton, was accompanied in Gene Blake’s final by the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Windfall, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tropix Lemon Twist RN, the Welsh Terrier, CH Abbeyrose Jersey Boy, the Shih Tzu, CH Itsa’s Hurricain Chaser, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Ri Lee’s Diamonds Are Forever, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Serenity’s Walk in the Park.

Sunday, Edd Bivin saw the same seven save one, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Ayrwen Star Kissed Delight.  Our congratulations to all the finalists.

BLUE SUEDE SHOES OR FLIP FLOPS

 
 Our show week gets underway tomorrow, with the first of 28 all breed shows in eleven locales.

If you are looking for a multiple show venue try Muncie IN where the Muncie Kennel Club & the Anderson Kennel Club will kick off four all breed shows tomorrow or Topeka KS where the Greater Emporia Kennel Club & the Jesse James Kennel Club will do the same starting Friday.

Here in Memphis TN fanciers in town for Elvis Week can stay over for the Memphis Kennel Club’s two shows just a few minutes down the street from Graceland in Southaven MS.  Toy Dog enthusiasts can start early and take in the Memphis Toy Dog Club’s two limited breed shows on Thursday & Friday.  Likewise exhibitors in the Pacific Northwest can arrive on Thursday in Enumclaw WA for the Rainer Sporting Dog Association limited breed event on Thursday, take in one of the 18 specialty shows on Friday, and still do the Olympic Kennel Club’s two all breed shows on the weekend.

New Yorkers can head upstate to Apalachin for three shows with the Susque-Nango Kennel Club & the Tioga County Kennel Club.   Wisconsin residents likewise can pick up three in Marshfield courtesy of the Wisconsin Rapids Kennel Club & the Marshfield Area Kennel Club.

The remaining shows are of the tradition Saturday/Sunday type.  Check out the hometown efforts of the St Clairsville Ohio Kennel Club, the Greeley (CO) Kennel Club, & the Reno (NV) Kennel Club.  You can also get two from the Wachusett Kennel Club in Fitchburg MA or from the West Oahu Kennel Club in Ewa HI.

Whether it’s blue suede shoes in Memphis or flip flops on Waikiki Beach, you can have a dog show in a fun place this weekend.  Do it!

MONDAY IN WISCONSIN

They wrapped up the weekend in Wisconsin today with the hometown Greater Racine Kennel Club ‘s day two show.

Robert Shreve chose his Best In Show from the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria's Must Be Fate, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Waybroke Broxden Turning Tanner, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Knolland Amber Moon, the Keeshond, GCH CH Dreamwoods Rock The Boat, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Daybar Blew By U.

The last BIS of the weekend goes to the Springer, Peyton.  Peyton had spent Saturday and Sunday in Albert Lea where he took babck2back BIS at the two shows of the Kennel Club Of Freeborn County Minnesota.  The hat trick brings to eleven the number of all breed Bests for Peyton and handler Robin Novack.    We will bring you the complete results of the Minnesota shows as soon as we get them.

NISQUALLY KC DAY TWO

The Nisqually Kennel Club held two shows in Lacey WA this weekend.  You can read about Saturday’s show here.

On Sunday Jeraldeen Crandall picked her BIS from the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, GCH CH Wyncliff’s Wanna Be Loved by U, Saturday’s BIS winner, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Boxer, GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Highwayman, the Maltese, GCH CH Scylla’s Small Kraft Re-Lit, the Bulldog, GCH CH Devineabull Achilles Legendary Warrior, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Snowdown When in Rome.

Best was the AmStaff, Jelly.  This imposing fellow has collected five BIS this year, four in the last 60 days. 

HARRISBURG PA

One of the most hotly contested sites this week was Harrisburg PA.  The three show stop started on Friday with the day one show of the Penn Ridge Kennel Club.   Robert Stein’s super seven were the Vizsla, GCH CH Artisan Grouse Point Pink Panther, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Bahama Sands, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Navio’s Flower of the Sea, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknor’s Cross the Ts, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Surrey Sugar Baby, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Gambolon Blue Thunder.

Day one went to the country’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Affenpinscher, Joey.   Joey and handler Ernesto Lara have been bringing their “A” game lately with eleven of their 19 BIS this year coming in the last six weeks.

On Saturday at the PRKC’s day two show, Joey and fellow Friday finalists, the Norfolk & Miniature Poodle, were joined by the Flat-Coated Retriever, GCH CH Valhala Born on the 4th of July, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Gamegards Rhythm of the Rain, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Quiche’s Grand Finale.

It was the second BIS this year for the Bouvier who just returned to the show ring in June after being sidelined with an injury.

The Harrisburg Kennel Club closed it out Sunday with Don Sutton calling the  BIS.  Returning for another try at the big rosette were the Rottweiler, the Affenpinscher, the Miniature Poodle, & the Bouvier.  Making their first final appearance of the weekend were the English setter, CH Wyndswept’s Encore, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Celestial CJ’s Hearts on Fire, and the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Castle Rocks Sbigstaff Mad About You.

Taking home the final top prize was the Rottweiler, Cadey.   This girl is not content to play second fiddle to the boys and has collected two BIS this summer.

ARKANSAS KENNEL CLUB

Thanks to a generous reader we have results from this weekend’s Arkansas Kennel Club’s two shows in the state capital, Little Rock.

Saturday, Sari Tietjen’s final consisted of the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Glengowan's Great Balls of Fire, the 15" Beagle, GCH CH Belcanto Flags A'Flyin, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria's Lucky Charm, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Laurelwynds Bekka O Sweetshounds, the Japanese Chin, GCH Kelaury Good Luck From We-syng, the GCH CH Dante Fire When Ready HOF, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Copperridge's One Time Offer.

Her BIS was the Golden, Jerry Lee.  It was the first this year for Jerry Lee.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Richard Caldwell, owner Patti Caldwell and handler Christopher Keith.

On Sunday, Jerry Lee was back to see BIS judge Dr Donald Gill along with the above named Westie & Schipperke, the Borzoi, GCH CH Wildwood Fiery Run Out of my Dreams, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Chancellor High Flyin' Gladiator, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH Brackley He's My Warrior, and the Finnish Lapphund, CH  Sugarok Born in the USA.

Closing out the set was the Westie, Bekka.   It was Bekka’s first weekend out as a special.  We call that quite a start.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Diann & William Singletary, owners Bob & Susan Ernst, and handler Jody Pacquette.

SOUTH BAY KENNEL CLUB

Next we will go to Torrance CA where California exhibitors were in town for the South Bay Kennel Club‘s two shows.

On Saturday Jordan Chamberlin saw a seven out of over 1200 entries, the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Ibizan Hound, GCH CH Harehill’s Ace in the Hole, the Great Dane, GCH CH Naples Tlbrk Dana Dan Roques Naika, the Scottish Terrier, GCH CH Jacglen’s Forever Present, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin’s Top Banana, the French Bulldog, CH Foxglen Born to Boogie, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Segni at Coventry.

He chose the Corgi, Molly, as his BIS.  That’s lucky number seven for Molly and handler Jenny Wornall.

Sunday, Rick Gschwender considered the previously named Weimaraner, Ibizan Hound, & Affenpinscher, with the Boxer, GCH CH Telstar’s All That Glitters at Cinnibon, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Steele Your Heart, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Danfour Debutante, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Cottonwood Man in the Moon.

Best In Show was the black Miniature Poodle, Banana.  it’s the second this year for Banana & breeder/owner/handler Daniel Chavez.  Not yet two years old, we see many more big rosettes in this girl’s future. 


WISCONSIN THIS WEEK

Our Monday Morning Mop Up includes some heady competitions across the US this week.  As results are still rolling in we will be jumping around a bit.

The fun started in Wisconsin on Friday in South Milwaukee where the Cudahy Kennel Club set up for two days.  On Friday, Denise Dean gathered the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH MtView's Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Hundeleben Queen's Armada SL, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria's Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Max-Well's Red A Apple, the Papillon, GCH CH Wingssong Rock Star, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Glen Oaks Firekeeper's Gambler, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Babheim's Captain Crunch.

Her BIS was the Dachshund, Cheese.  Cheese has been on a roll lately with four of his six Bests this year coming in the last two weeks.

Saturday at the CKC’s day two show Jon Cole would see the above named GWP, the Saluki, CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Of Jatara, the aforementioned Kuvasz, the Colored Bull terrier, CH Aragon's Ruffin It At Honeytree, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Knolland Amber Moon, the Miniature Poodle, GCH CH Divine No Doubt Deagra, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, GCH CH Swan Crest Windy City Robert Henry.

He chose the Saluki, Bubbles, as his BIS.  It’s the first of the year for Bubbles.  Congratulations to breeder Kathleen Morton and owners Jackie Harrington & Sara Winsted.

On Sunday the crowd would move to Racine WI for two with the Greater Racine Kennel Club.  Dana Cline’s all new seven  included the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summits Emery It's In The Bag, the Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Cambria's Must Be Fate, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Waybroke Broxden Turning Tanner, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, GCH CH Loujon Backroads To Paris, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Royalty's Taylormade Call Me Sir, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Travler's Pierce Arrow.

Best went to one of the rarest breeds in AKC, the Harrier, Chet.  It’s the third BIS of 2011 for Chet.  The fun continues today in Racine.  Check back with us later for results.

BALLSTON SPA NY DAY FIVE

Barbara Keenan had the final final in Ballston Spa NY today.  Her seven at the Bennington County Kennel Club show were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Signature of Telltale RN CD, the Saluki, CH Vogue Watch Well What I Do, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH D’s Devil Wear Prada, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Saredon It Had to be You, the Pug, GCH CH Foursquare I'll Be A Shostopa Tu, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Riverside's The Sisters and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Windfall Slam Dunk.

Taking home the last big rosette of the week was the Springer, Dustin.  We have this as Dustin’s fifth BIS of the year.

GREENSBORO NC DAY FIVE

The nation’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, closed out the five days in Greensboro NC with his third straight BIS.

Joining Beckham and handler Michael Pitts in James Reynolds’ final for the Carolina Kennel Club were the Irish Wolfhound, GCH CH Desert Dune At Curiann, the Komondor, GCH CH Meadow View Officer N A Gentleman, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hightide Eclipse, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song At Morningstar.


Beckham’s 32nd   BIS of the season will put a little distance between him and the rest of our Top Ten.

LORAIN COUNTY KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici

The Lorain County Kennel Club gathered exhibitors in Oberlin OH today for a leisurely one show event.  William Stebbins’ final included the Irish Setter, GCH CH Rosette’s No Stone Unturned, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Gemdach Red Rocker, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Jay-Roy Byrne’s Hot for You, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Randalet’s Let’s Go Dutch, the Shiba Inu, GCH CH Sno-Storm’s Playboy Pinup, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

BIS was the Doberman, with the very un-Doberman name, FiFi.  FiFi started the year out west, but is now back home in Ohio with breeder/owner Jocelyn Mullins who handled her to the win, her eighth this year.
