HAPPY BIRTHDAY BIS!

We’ve heard that the Pug, CH Winsome’s Trouble At Coral Bay, has copped a BIS just shy of his first birthday. It happened today in Helen Lee James final ring at the Central Florida Kennel Club in Orlando FL. Congratulations to breeder/owner Virginia Flatley, co-breeder Christa Reisinger, and co-owner and handler Carol Giles.

ANOTHER BACK TO BACK BIS

It’s day three in Waynesburg PA and today it was Mrs. Terry M. DePietro at the helm for the South Hills Kennel Club.

Her finalists were the Labrador Retriever, CH Beechcroft Study's Top Secret, the Otterhound, CH Scentasia’s Shake Rattle N Roll, the Great Pyrenees, CH Rivergroves Trump This, the White Bull Terrier, CH Action Pure Class, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, the Boston Terrier, CH Keynote‘s Knockout Kid, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Woodside Pacino.

And is just us, or do we have a large number of back to back BIS winners this weekend. Well, add to the list the Great Pyrenees, Trump, who picked his second top prize this weekend.

PEKE IN RICHMOND

Richmond VA is a lovely city full of gracious homes and monuments. Today it was full of dogs.

CH Lin-Lee’s For The Good Times

Best In Show went to the latest charge of Pekingese maven David Fitzpatrick. The race for number one Pekingese this year is so close, we’re not sure if this boy is number one. But we know that he is a multi BIS winner that ou won't forget once you see him.

MONDO IN MAINE

They do have dog shows in Maine, as proven by today’s Penobscot Kennel Club event in Cumberland.

CH Mondrian VH Lamslag RE

Joseph Gregory’s New England clambake was attended by the Brittany, CH Tonan-Hope's R U Kiddin' Me, the Afghan Hound, CH Shenandoah Smoke And Mirrors, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Magis Crown Destiny, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Lil Itch Cheerleader, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, CH Mondrian VH Lamslag RE, the Dalmatian, CH RK's XTerra's Makin' Whoopee, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Schaefer Vinelake Impulsive.

BIS belonged to Mondo, the country’s number one Cavalier, his third this year. Mondo was bred by J G A Boelaars and is owned by the gifted New York artist, Janet York.

TWO IN A ROW FOR DODGER

We’ve heard some of yesterday’s results from the moving Montana multi-show. Yesterday they were in Great Falls for the first day of the Electric City Kennel Club’s two show.

CH Silveroaks First & Foremost

Jon Cole’s BIS was the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, who made it two in a row. Also in the final were the Akita, CH Mojo’s Rock'n Your World, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tug, the American Eskimo Dog, CH Silveroaks First & Foremost, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepn Lady Webber.

Here at midyear, the top ten is stating to come together. The Smooth Fox, Dodger, has been a consistent contender and appears to destined to become a permanent fixture in the top ten.

CJ POSTS ANOTHER BIS

We have heard that Edd Bivin had pretty much a repeat crowd yesterday at the second show of the Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club in Cambridge MN.

CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton

His finalists included the Irish Setter, CH Vineyard's Bad Boy, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, the Lhasa Apso, CH Northwind Amaze Me, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Marquis' Stealing The Show TC. We are still waiting for the names of the Afghan Hound and Pekingese that rounded out the ultimate seven.

However, we do know that the Doberman, CJ, posted her second BIS in as many days. Number one may be way out in front, but number two is closing.

HAVANESE IN NEW PALTZ

The Shawangunk Kennel Club (We don’t name ‘em, we just report ‘em) had the field in New Paltz NY today and they offered up Dr John Ioia for Best In Show.

It was a day for the little guy as the Havanese, Sweepea, took home his firs BIS of the year. The seven year old is a local dog bred by Judith E Jones and Steve & Alice Lawrence and owned by the Lawrences. Bravo to them all.

GREAT PYRENEES BIS IN WAYNESBURG PA

We have results from the Mountaineer Kennel Club in Waynesburg PA, where Beth Speich had BIS duty today.

CH Rivergroves Trump This

THURSDAY IN BILLINGS MT

Our final Thursday show to report is from the Montana mélange. Thursday was the crowd’s last day in Billings with the Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club.

CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice

With this many shows and this many dogs, we get a chance to see a lot of different faces in the finals. Yesterday they were the Pointer, CH Coralwood Valcopy Switch Hitter, the Whippet, CH Sonsteby’s in a Pickle, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Perfex Cyclone Mahina, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamrin Tug, the Keeshond, CH Kemont’s Skyline’s Game Boy, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier, Sleepnlady Webber.

BIS went to the number two Terrier in the country, the Smooth Fox, Dodger. We won’t be sure until we get the actual count, but we believe that this put’s Dodger in the top ten all breeds.

MORE THURSDAY FUN

Yesterday the Anoka County Kennel Club held their first of two shows this week in Cambridge MN.

And it was the number two ranked dog, the Doberman, CJ, adding to her BIS tally and increasing her lead over the rest of the field.

CH Gaia Elfin Dance

To the south, the Valparaiso (IN) Kennel Club asked Andrew Bruce Kidd to select a BIS. He chose from the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, CH Flatbrook Royal Point Attitude JH, the Greyhound, CH Gaia Elfin Dance, the Great Pyrenees, CH Pyrless Les De Lourdes, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Whitefire's You Keep Me Hangin' On, the Papillon, CH Wingssong Rock Star, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Chao-Yang Take It To The Limit, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lambluv's Daydream Believer.

And we have one more show to report. Check back in a few.

BUSY THURSDAY

Normally, on a Friday morning we would be lucky to have one or two shows to report on, but this morning we have five! So let’s get started!

CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins

First from region one and New Paltz NY, we have this on the WalKill Kennel Club. Victor Clemente’s final was made up the Weimaraner, CH Liberty's Dancin In The Moonlight, the American Foxhound, CH Kiarry's Walk This Way, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Blumoon Tazenite V Blackrock, the Welsh Terrier, CH Marydale's Limited Edition, the King Charles & Ruby English Toy Spaniel, CH Southdown Nonetheless, the Bulldog, CH Kepley's Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

And it was the another great American Foxhound from the Kiarry kennel taking BIS. Congratulations to breeders Claudette Dupont and Harry & Lisa Miller and owners Paul Reilly, and Walter & Carol Sommerfelt. All Kiarry Foxhounds are handled by Lisa.

CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely

Meanwhile out in Waynesburg PA, judge Eldetraud Laurin made the call for the South Hills Kennel Club. Her finalists were the German Shorthaired Pointer. We’ll be back with more in a moment.

BACK 2 BACK BIS 4 BOSCO

It’s day three of the moving Montana marathon and yesterday they were in Billings for day two of the Yellowstone Valley Kennnel club.

CH Duba Dae’s Who’s Your Daddy

Janet Sinclair selected from the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty’s Treasure Island, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Afterglow Ebeneezer, the Boxer, CH Duba Dae’s Who’s Your Daddy, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Papillion Queem Bless Jp World Idol, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Guthrie’s How Sweet It Is, and the Rough Collie, CH Gentry’s Braveheart.

MICHIGAN FINALLY CHECKS IN

We finally have the results from Traverse City MI where the Grand Traverse Kennel Club had a couple of shows this past Saturday and Sunday. We are not sure why it took them so long to tally the results of a 359 count show. After all, the Iranians were able to count 38 million paper ballots in three hours.

CH Star’s Gold Ringer

Nonetheless, we are happy to report that Saturday judge Dennis Kniola’s finalists were the English Setter, CH Kaska’s Capture The Moment, the Borzoi, CH Aurora’s Ajax, the Bullmastiffs, Brude Murbe Samson, the Australian Terrier, CH Benayrr Nessun Dorma, the Shih Tzu, CH Xerlane’s Face The Music, the Lhasa Apso, CH Northwind Nothing But Trouble, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Star’s Gold Ringer.

BIS went to the Australian Shepherd known as James Bond. We believe this was not only his first BIS, but is first Group One. Congratulations to breeder/owner Laura J. Baylis and handler Guy Fisher.

CH Auroral's Ajax

Sunday the English Setter, the Borzoi, the Australian Terrier, and the Lhasa were all joined in Frederick Dewsbury’s final by the Newfoundland, CH Top Shelf’s Rob Roy At Pouch Cove, and the Bouvier des Flandfres, CH Quiche’s Demitrius. And for the Borzoi, Ajax, it was lovlier the second time around. Once again we believe this is his first BIS and Group One. Bravo to breeders/owners Jon & Jennifer Steele.

Once again, we point out that even a small AKC show gives you a chance to see some wonderful dogs.

THE WEEKEND HAS ALREADY STARTED

It’s summer vacation time and dog show folks are going to spend that time at…dog shows. Coming up over the next seven or so days, fanciers will have plenty of choices for an extended stay ring side.

Great Falls MT

Let’s start with what we’ve dubbed the Montana Motorcross. It started yesterday in Billings with the first of three shows hosted by the Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club. Friday, the RVs caravan moves a little over 200 miles up the road to Great Falls where the Electric City Kenne Club (We did tell you the Affenpinscher, Taser is among the temporary residents of Montana?) is hosting two shows. Sunday, we’re 200 miles west in Missoula taking advantage of the hospitality of the Fire Valley Kennel Club for three days.

If eight days on the road is a little too much for you and the family, try one of the following four day offerings. New Yorkers can spend three days starting Thursday in suburban New Paltz with the Wallkill Kennel Club, the Shawangunk Kennel Club, and the Mid-Hudson Kennel Association before fighting 90 miles of New York traffic to attend the Staten Island Kennel Club show. Also starting Thursday Washingtonians have an easy 80 miles to Waynesboro PA for four days with the South Hills & Mountaineer Kennel Clubs.

Verazzano Bridge Staten Island NY

Starting Thursday the Valparaiso, Michiana, & Berrien Kennel Clubs have a four day stand in Valparaiso IN while the Anoka County Minnesota & Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Clubs will also give us four shows Sun in Cambridge MN, on those same days. The Brevard Kennel Club, the Central Florida Kennel Club, & the Space Coast Kennel Club Of Palm Bay join forces for three days in Orlando FL starting Friday. Traditional two day fare is available in Cumberland ME, Richmond VA, Iowa City IA, and Canby OR.

And we will loose our Terrier ID card if we don‘t mention the Great Western Terrier Association Of Southern California’s two days of shows in Long Beach CA Sat & Sun. This mini Montgormery County show has consistently drawn 800 scrappy dogs year after year. Sunday, the Terrier folk will be joined by the Toy Dog Breeders Association Of Southern California. The Virginia Terrier Club will also present an all Terrier show on Friday before the Virginia Kennel Club’s two shows in Richmond VA. Finally, the Aloha State Sporting Dog Association plans a one day limited breed show Saturday in Honolulu HI.

THEY'VE MOVED

Remember that six day doggy marathon last week in Idaho? Well, that crowd spent Monday motoring on up to Billings MT for the first day in an eight day Montana motorcross. More on that in our upcoming shows feature. Right now we have results from yesterday’s Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club show.

CH Duba Dae’s Who’s Your Daddy

Lawrence Sinclair’s final seven were the Pointer, CH Coralwood Valcopy Sitch Hitter, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, CH Afterglow Ebeneezer, the Boxer, CH Duba Dae’s Who’s Your Daddy, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamrin Tug, the Bichon Frise, CH PaRay Rime Time, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepnlady Webber.

The Boxer, Bosco, picked up the BIS, his second this year, but then he’s got seven more chances before he heads home to Perris CA. We’ll be right back with the details on upcoming shows.

APOLOGIES TO THE BULLDOG

As we have written many times before we make mistakes. This blog is a one man operation and given the number of posts we do (836 these past ten months), we make our share of errors. Usually they are mere typos or misspellings.

CH Silverspoon’s Nothing Personal

However, in reporting on the group winners from Sunday’s Gridley show, we transgressed more seriously. We did not report the Non-Sporting winner, CH Silverspoon’s Nothing Personal, correctly. There was an unfortunate transposition in our cut and paste operation which understandably offended the breeder/owner/handler of this BIS/BISS winner and former number one Bulldog. We offer our most sincere apologies to breeders/owners Mary Aiken & Rick Sturiza, but are thankful for the opportunity to share a terrific photo of this magnificent boy, known as Cooper to his fans, with our readers.

CH COVENTRY VANITY FAIR RETIRES

We have learned that the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Coventry Vanity Fair last appearance in the ring was at Sunday’s Bahia Sur Kennel Club show in Chula Vista CA.

As we reported here, Carly and breeder/owner/handler Bill Shelton walked away with that event’s top prize. That win made Carly the top breeder/owner handled Pembroke in AKC history. Carly also finishes as the second winningest Pembroke bitch ever, right behind her great aunt, CH Coventry Queue.

Carly finished 2008 as the country‘s number one Herding Dog and the number ten dog all breeds. Corgis are not flashy dogs. It takes an incredibly great breed specimen with outstanding ring presence to win Groups and BIS weekend after weekend. Among her memorable wins was BIS at the almost 4,000 dog 2008 Palm Spring Kennel Club and Group One at the 2008 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship.

Statistics alone do not tell the story. If you were lucky enough to see Carly and Bill these past two years, you know that they had an incredible rapport that just charmed the judges and the gallery. We will always have a smile on our face whenever we think of the two of them in the ring. Behind every great dog is a great team and Bill and Carly were blessed with the loyal and supportive group of co-breeders Steven Leverly, Lisa Weiss-Nolechek, & Becky Williams DVM and co-owners Kevin Foist, Kerry Kirtley, & Deborah Salow.

Our thanks to Bill and Team Carly for sharing this lovely girl with us.

MORE ON SUNDAY'S SHOWS

We promised to bring you the remaining results from Sunday’s shows in Blackfoot ID and Chula Vista CA and here they are.

CH Guthries How Sweet It Is

At the Pocatella Kennel Show the BIS winner, the Doberman, Mimi, was accompanied in the final by the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty's Treasure Island, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Pupukearidge Ikaika O Sprngvly, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Arbroath's Rosewood Rise N' Shine, the Pekingese, CH Dunkirk Center Stage, the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Guthries How Sweet It Is, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Sky Acres Spy Plane.

At Sunday’s show hosted by the Bahia Sur Kennel Club, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Coventry Fair was Queen for a Day and her court consisted of the Wirehaired Pointing Griffon, CH Flatbrook Royal Point Attituded JH, the Afghan Hound, CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Doberman Pinscher, CH. Sevenly Above The Law, the American Staffordshire Terrier, CH. Doggy World’s Apple Jack Junior, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH Jocal‘s Dancing With The Stars, and the Chow Chow, CH D-Jin Gang Of Anna Kennel.

We have a major announcement for you so check back with us.

WE FORGOT THIS

CH Perrisblu Paris

Remember Gridley? That picturesque little town up the road from Sacramento? Well, we forgot to give you these details. We did tell you that the Doberman, Mimi, went Best yesterday, but we didn’t tell you that the other finalists were the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Robin Crest Charismatic JH, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, Soletrader Donald Duck (how many groups does this dog have to win before we can call him CH Soletrader Donald Duck?), the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Perrisblu Paris, the Silky Terrier, CH Safire Rock It To The Stars, the Bulldodg, CH Silverspoon's Nothing Personal, and the Shetland Sheepdog, P.Blume Coyuki.

And we are still waiting for Michigan results.

ALL THE REST

We have some more loose ends to tie up. First, we owe you the names of the Affenpinscher and the Tibetan Terrier from Sunday’s Kennel Club of Texarkana (AR) final. That would be CH Frolicn Handsome Hercules and CH Kimik's It's Tough To Be A Bug, respectively.

Ambasciatori Gladius Bean

Out in sunny California, there were two shows in the border town of ChulaVista. We have told you the BIS winners for both (the Welsh Terrier, CH Sanherpinc Paisa, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Ch Coventry Vanity Fair) and now we have the names of Saturday’s finalists. They were the English Springer Spaniel, CH Master of “D’ Game, the Afghan Hound, CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Neapolitan Mastiff, Ambasciatori Gladius Bean, the Toy Manchester Terrier, CH Bright Light’s Rosewood, the Miniature Poodle, CH Drandel Fashionista, and the Border Collie, CH Majestic Avatar Storm Warning PT.

We have similar circumstances with the Idaho shows. We have been giving you results all week on this six day road show that started on Tuesday In Flier ID. We’ve already told you about Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday results, but you haven’t heard about Friday’s Eagle Rock Kennel Club in Blackfoot.

CH Afterglow Ebeneezer

Donovan Thompson’s finalists were the Labrador Retriever, Starquests Right On Que, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, CH Afterglow Ebeneezer, the Akita, CH Mojo's Rock'n Your World, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Arbroath's Rosewood Rise N'Shine, the American Eskimo Dog, CH Silveroaks First & Foremost, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepn Lady Webber.

And it was the Akita, Coupe, repeating his BIS win from Tuesday’s Flier show.

CH Arbroath's Rosewood Rise N'Shine

We did tell you that Saturday, judge Jean Fournier’s BIS at the Pocatello Kennel Club show was the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tug, but we did not tell you that Taser’s fellow finalists were the same PBGV, Westie, and Bouvier, nor did we tell you that they were accompanied by the Clumber Spaniel, CH Monarch American Pie, the Great Danem CH Double D Daynakin Party Brew, and the Standard Poodle, CH Penndragon Masaniello.

We are still waiting for the details on Sunday’s shows. We will bring those to you as soon as they come in.

THE OTHER POODLE

There were three shows in Topsfiled MA this weekend and we have reported on two. Yesterday’s show was hosted by the Middlesex County Kennel Club.

CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely

Fred Bassett’s finalists were the English Cocker Spaniel, CH Pineridge Jake's Best Chance, the Scottish Deerhound, CH Gayleward's Jaraluv Nike, the Samoyed, CH Pebbles'Run Hammy Davis Jr, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Sterling Patten Pending, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash JP Moon Walk, the Standard Poodle, CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely, the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkein Raintree Mister Baggins.

His BIS was the nation’s number one Non-Sporting dog, the Standard Poodle, Sissy. This girl has hit her stride and is steadily climbing up the rankings.

We will be back with more results.

WORKING THROUGH THE REST, PART TWO

We continue with the weekend mop up. Elsewhere in Region Three, we had the Echo Hills Kennel Club of Ohio two shows in Troy OH. We previously posted Saturday’s results. Now we have Sunday’s winners for you.

CH Sporting Field's Bahama Sands

Betsy Yates did the BIS honors on Sunday and she selected from the Gordon Setter, CH Firethorn & Sandpiper Easy On The Eyes, the Whippet, CH Sporting Field's Bahama Sands, the Border Terrier, CH Tyrolian Eight Belles At Meadowlake, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH Ayrwen Star Kissed Delight, the Keeshond, CH Sprookje Lunar Appellation, and the Australian Shepherd, Thornapple Dirty Mind.

It was the second BIS in as many weeks for the Whippet. Congratulations to breeder/owner Dionne Butt, co-breeder Jesse Martin, and co-owner, and handler Amanda Giles.

CH Bluebeard’s Suddenly Bridey

There were three shows in Grayslake IL, two all breed shows and an all Terrier show. We have reported on Friday’s all breed show and the Terrier show and we told you that the BIS winner at yesterday’s Chain O’ Lakes Kennel Club show was the Keeshond, CH Daimler’s Caviar Dreams. The remaining six finalists were the Irish Setter, CH Vineyard’s Bad Boy, the American Foxhound, CH Kiarry’s Foolish Pleasure, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Sno Klassics Play The Game, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Bluebeard’s Suddenly Bridey, the Papillion, CH Arkeno’s Ears To You, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH Sasquehanna Malinnik Ponadto.

We abhor negative reporting, but we would be remiss if we did not mention that the Kerry Blue had to beat the country’s number one dog, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, to get to this final. To give you an idea of how rare that is, As of June 1, Sadie had appeared in 60 Groups and won 53 of them, roughly 90 percent.

We’ll be right back.

WORKING THROUGH THE REST, PART ONE

Now we are going to work our way through the remaining results, which are a bit fragmented. So expect to get confused. We were.

CH Westwood Aladdin

In Region two, we had one place holding shows, Waynesville NC. We’ve already reported on Saturday’s Western Carolina Dog Fanciers Association show and told you that the PBGV, CeeJay, won that club’s show yesterday. Now we can tell you that the other six finalists were the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Star K's Mile Hi Valentine, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Bernherr's Storm Surge V Ayehli, the West Highland White Terrier, K's Camus Of Highland Glen, the Pug, CH Atlantis' Denim N Diamonds, the Standard Poodle, CH Brighton Meadow At Lakeridge, and the Rough Collie, CH Westwood Aladdin.

CH Opdyke's Drive Me To Drink

In Region Three, there were shows going on in three areas. In upstate New York, there were four shows in the town of Stockton. We have reported out on three of those. Yesterday’s day show was hosted by the Olean Kennel Club with Dr Harry Smith holding the judge’s book. The final seven were the Clumber Spaniel, CH Quail Hollows Gelato, the Saluki, CH Cat Tales Cat Mandu, the Saint Bernard, CH Opdyke's Drive Me To Drink, the Border Terrier, CH Meadowlake Overnight Celebrity, the Shih Tzu, Nanking's Teist And Tango, the Keeshond, CH Quest Stand By Me, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Jesstar Affirmation.

The second BIS by a Keeshond went to breeders/owners Maureen Winters & Jennifer Sturgeon. Congratulations to them both. Yes, we know the difference between a Saint and a Keeshond. We just couldn’t foind a photo of the BIS winner. Pity.

Back in a moment.

FORT DODGE RESULTS

We gave you a glimpse at the Fort Dodge (IA) Kennel Club’s results over the weekend. Here’s the complete story.

CH Derbys Destination Moon JH

On Saturday, judge Roger Hartinger chose the 15” Beagle, CH Torquay Midnight Confession, as his BIS out of a group that included the Vizsla, CH Derbys Destination Moon JH, the Standard Schnauzer, CH Jordan Brody Of Windtree RE CD, the Norwich Terrier, CH Skycots Poker Chip, the Papillon, CH Marrics Northland It Takes A Thief, the Boston Terrier, Klassics Lord Stanley, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer.

CH Kylene Eden The Dragonslayer

On Sunday, Paula Hartinger had the same Beagle, Norwich, and Sheltie, but also had the pleasure of seeing the Vizsla, CH Derbys Destination Moon, the Boxer, CH Lattalanes Kiss Me Im Irish, the Shih Tzu, CH Istas Tearin' It Up, and the Dalmatian, CH Paisley Nspird By Broadway.

Her BIS was the Sheltie, Thomas, his second this year. I was lucky enough to see this beauty up close last month, so I am not surprised he has another BIS under his belt.

We have more results to report yet.

PENNSYLVANIA RESULTS

One of the larger entries in the country this weekend was in Ludwigs Corner PA, near Philadelphia.

CH Riverside Wicked Wonderful

On Saturday Frank Sabella was on deck with the Brn Mawr Kennel Club. His finalists were the Labrador Retriever, CH Casbar’s Hart To Hart, the Bloodhound, CH Ridgerunner Beecher’s Brook, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Allure Blazing Star Alisaton, the Scottish Terrier, CH Blueberry’s Surely You Jest, the Pekingese, CH Linn-Lee’s For The Good Times, the Chow Chow, CH United’s In A Different Light, the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Riverside Wicked Wonderful.

His BIS was the country;s number two all breed dog, the Doberman, CJ. CJ is starting to open up a substantial lead on the rest of the field, though she is still well behind number one.

CH Casbar’s Hart To Hart

On Sunday, CJ, the Lab, and Peke, were all back to see judge James White. Rounding out the final seven were the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Of Afrikka Spring Valley Dorian Gray.JC, the Airedale, CH Stirling Cool Hand Luke, the Bulldog, CH Kepley’s Showbiz Razzle Dazzle, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Whisperwoods Wild Biscuit.

BIS went to the black Lab, RJ. A month ago this dog was not even in the top 25, now he is closing in on the top 15. We have him as the highest scoring Lab and the number three Sporting Dog. Whatever his position is today, look for it to be improved in a month.

WE'RE SLOW THIS MORNING

It’s Monday morning and we have twice started writing up show results only to realize we don’t have complete results for many areas. We are not sure what’s behind that, but if it’s all right with you, we will just keep writing until we run out of results to report.

CH Tacara's Touchstone Takoda

Let’s talk about some of the two day stands we haven’t reported on earlier. In Gray Summit MO, Beth Speich did BIS for the Rolla Missouri Kennel Club. Her seven were the Irish Setter, CH Vineyards Bad Boy, the Afghan Hound, CH Amare Rider In The Rain, the Rottweiler, CH Cammcastles Friar Tuck, the Norwich Terrier, CH Foxglyns Once Upon A Time, the Papillon. CH Wildfire On The Rocks, the Dalmatian, CH Royaltys Splash Of Taylor, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Tacara's Touchstone Takoda.

We don’t know where this six year old Tervuren has been hiding, but he now has a BIS to add to his resume. Congratulations to breeder/owner Linda Newsome, co breeder Carol Hein Creger, and co-owner Donna Unsell.

CH Cornerstone Soliloquy

Sunday, it was Linday Robey with the same Afghan, Rott, and Papillion, and the Clumber Spaniel, CH Celtics Nose For News, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Cornerstone Soliloquy, the Bulldog, CH K's Note-A-Bul Cisco Kid, and the German Shepherd Dog, CH Keggi Fairs Ubetcha Kos Mar. Her BIS would be the Staffordshire, Piper. She is the only Staffordshire to win a BIS and now she has two. Congratulations to breeders Damon Folmar & Sam Royall, owners Maryanne & Larry Goethals, and handler Holley Eldred.

We’ll be right back.

BACK TO BACK FOR THE PULI

We’re up late again and we just heard that the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams, copped another BIS courtesy of the Kennel Club Of Texarkana (AR). This came under the watchful eye of judge Donald Booxbaum.

CH Bravo Sunset N Stealing Time

We don’t have all the names of the other finalists, but we do know that the English Springer Spaniel, CH Capulet’s Innovation, the Boxer, the Saluki, Ch Hajjis Porshe JC, CH Bravo Sunset N Stealing Time, and the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, were all back in the final as well as an Affenpinscher and a Tibetan Terrier, whose names we do not have yet. That top five is getting awfully tight.

DOBIE IN IDAHO

We have a late report from Blackfoot ID, where they wound up their six day marathon with W Everett Dean Jr calling the BIS for the Pocatello Kennel Club.

CH Perfex Cyclone Mahina
