A Greyhound dog that is. While we were in Greeley this weekend we missed two Memphis staples, the week long memorial to Elvis Presley’s death (August 15, 1977) and the Memphis Toy Dog Club, the Olive Branch Mississippi Kennel Club, & the Memphis Kennel Club four day weekend. The all breed action started on Friday, just five miles down the road from Graceland, at the Arena in Southaven (that’s just over the state line in Mississippi).
GCH CH Rubicon’s He’s So Fine

Finishing One/Two were the Chow, Chance, and the Shih Tzu, Willy. We are not surprised to see Chance taking home the big rosette. We first saw Chance in the breed ring Kalamazoo in May and were impressed enough to feature him in our daily write up for Best In Show Daily. It is the first BIS this year for Chance. Congratulations to breeders/owners Kathy & George Beliew and owners Deborah & Thomas Spence.
Nancy Smith Hafner closed the set for the MKC. The final final seven were the previously seen Curly Coat, the Greyhound, Duncan, the Mastiff, CH Lazy D’s Charmed n Dangerous, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding V Sole Baye, the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Stratford’s Diamond Jim, the Chow, Chance, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Kosmar Striking Back of Bridgelady.

When it was all over the two still in the ring were the RBIS, the Yorkie Jimmie, and the Greyhound, Duncan. It is also Duncan’s first of the BIS in six final appearances. Congratulations to breeder/owner Pamela Rubinstein, co-breeder Susan Cassem, and handler Jamie Clute.
