BRANDON FLORIDA KC DAY ONE

GCH CH Ne Orageux's Flash Point 

David Bolus was in Plant City FL today for the Brandon Florida Kennel Club’s day one final. The seven dogs he considered were the English Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Fieldstone Carousel Hell's Kitchen, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Regimes Thriller Of Elmo, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Monarch's Empire Maker, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Abbapoola's Mr Slice Of Life, the Miniature Poodle, CH Lavandaire Storybook Dreams, and the Briard, GCH CH Ne Orageux's Flash Point. 

Finishing one/two were the Briard, Sparkles, and the Doberman, Grant. It was the second BIS in 11 trips to the final ring this year for Flash.

DAY ONE IN DELAWARE OH

GCH CH Stargazer'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell 

The Delaware Ohio Kennel Club opened their two day set in their hometown today and put judge Carol Spritzer in the final ring with the English Setter, GCH CH Stargazer'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don't Tell, the Whippet, GCH CH Ableaim Question Me NA NAJ CGC, the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Garcini Rangels Rock N Rolla, the Shih Tzu, Indigo's Golden Elegance, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH ByRequest Bon Mot, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Yasashiikuma Lest We Forget.

Going to the head of the line was the English Setter, Teller, followed by the Wire Fox, Rocky. Teller is the Number Two Sporting Dog and Number Seven Dog All Breeds with 15 BIS and 59 Sporting Groups.

DAY ONE IN SIOUX FALLS SD

The energetic Sioux Empire Kennel Club is hosting three shows this weekend in Sioux Falls SD. They kicked it off on Friday and asked Barbara Dempsey Alderman to take the day one final. Her seven options were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the Saluki, GCH CH Starlite’s Made Of The Best Stuff On Earth BN RN JC, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Kyllburg’s Silverdawn Vnuchka, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Shorepointe’s Buddy Dazzler, the Keeshond, GCH CH Trumpet’s No Questions Asked, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Serenity’s Walk In The Park.

 It was the Springer, Randy, taking the BIS and the Sheltie, Walker, corralling the RBIS. Randy is the country’s Number One English Springer Spaniel and Number Four Sporting Dog with 11 BIS and 79 Sporting Groups this year.

DAY TWO IN AUSTIN TX

Judge Lesley Chalmers had the final at the Cen-Tex Kennel Club’s day two show in Austin TX on Friday. The seven dogs she considered were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Ehrenvogel Achy Breaky Heart, the Afghan Hound, Khasbek Full-Option, the Anatolian Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Carpe Diem’s Amadeus, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Solana Demolition Man, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowat’s The Gladiator, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Riverside Telltail Coco Posh.

Her Best was the Corgi, Coco, and her Reserve the Papillon, Jackson. Coco is the country’s Number One Cardigan Welsh Corgi and Number Herding Dog with ten BIS and 46 Herding Groups in 2014.

QUEENSBORO KC DAY ONE

The Xoloitzcuintli, GCH CH Bayshore Giorgio Armani, was judge Michael Sosne’s Best In Show at Friday’s Queensboro Kennel Club show in West Springfield MA.

Joining Armani and handler Gwen DeMilta in the final ring were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Random Titleist, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, his RBIS, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Highwood’s Whirling Dun, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Piccadil’s Twist And Shout CD BN RN, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Bagatelle Rolling Moon Stone. 

Armani is the winningest Xoloitzcuintli of all time with 14 career BIS, nine of which have come this year.

The Cen-Tex Kennel Club opened the four day set in Austin TX on Thursday and put Carolyn McKenna in the final ring. The seven dogs who joined her were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Ehrenvogel Achy Breaky Heart, the Whippet, GCH CH Debmar Lovin Dixie, the Anatolian Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Carpe Diem’s Amadeus, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Tullybloom's Classified Credentials, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Bulldog, GCH CH Dowat’s The Gladiator, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Her Best was the GSP, Cyrus, and her Reserve the Bulldog, Don Juan. It was the fourth BIS in 24 trips to the final ring this year for Cyrus and breeder/owner/handler Renee Lara DVM.

The last of last weekend’s reports is from Sunday’s Bell County Kennel Club show in Belton TX.  The seven dogs BIS judge Allen Odom considered were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Karagold’s Boom Boom Boom, the Whippet, GCH CH Debmar Lovin Dixie, the Boxer, GCH CH Cherkei’s Dick Tracey, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Dancy’s Rough Rider, the Pug, GCH CH Bookmark’s Uncommonly Good, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Winning Card, and the Smooth Collie, GCH CH Travler Kelise Overdrive.

Finishing one/two were the Bichon, Bingo, and the Norwich, Ted.  Bingo is the country’s Number One Bichon Frise and Number Six Non-Sporting Dog with five BIS and 46 Non-Sporting Groups.

The Upper Potomac Valley Kennel Club followed Friday’s Laurel Highlands Kennel Association show in Cumberland MD with two of their own.

Judge Roger Gifford had the Saturday final and his pick of the Pointer, GCH CH Hipoint Here Comes The Sun, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Foxcliffe Chelsea Piers, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Dynasty's Husky Lucky Strike, the Colored Bull Terrier, CH Action Spark Of The Divine CA CGC, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Palmetto's Flying Dutchman, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Are-Jay’s Harlem Renaissance, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Windfall’s Blah Blah Blah V Chablis.

His Best was the Bull Terrier, Rocky,  and his Reserve the Deerhound, Chelsea.  It was the first BIS for Rocky. Congratulations to breeder/owner Franne Berez MD, owner Deanna Dean, and handler Lindsey Cook.

Chelsea and the above named Pointer, Chow, & GSD would all be back in judge Joan Anselm’s  final on Sunday.  They were joined by the Mastiff, GCH CH Goldleaf's Trouble Coming CGC, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Sweet Time, and the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Yarrow Hi-Tech Ben There Done That.

Chelsea would add a big rosette to Saturday’s reserve ribbon.   The Affenpinscher, Ben, collected the RBIS.  Chelsea  is the country’s Number One Scottish Deerhound with two BIS and six Hound Groups.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Cecilia L Dove & R Scott Dove DVM, co-breeder Sally Sweatt, and handler Angela L Lloyd.

TWO DAYS IN NEW JERSEY

The Gloucester County Kennel Club had the coveted Saturday spot in Buena NJ and judge Kristen Francis had the day one final. Her seven options were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Doc's Greyborn North Star Of Acadia, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Icecream V Tum-Tums Vriendjes, the Akita, GCH CH CR-Wicca’s Trade Secret, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Class Act by Hallsblu, the Papillon, GCH CH InVolo The King of Pop, the Schipperke, GCH CH DeLaMer See Ya at the Top, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey's Moon River.

She chose the Corgi, Rebecca, as her BIS and the Weimaraner, Bella Blue, as her RBIS. It was Rebecca’s second BIS of the set and her third of the year.

Judge Murrel Purkhiser had the final at Sunday’s South Jersey Kennel Club show. The seven dogs that stayed all day to see her were the Irish Setter, GCH CH Evergreen Good Intentions, the Scottish Deerhound, GCH CH Hobarra's I Dreamed A Dream, the returning Akita, Trader, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Rivendell's Tinker Toy, the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH South Fork’s Sweet Harmony, the same Schipperke, and Rebecca, the Corgi. 

Best went to the Chihuahua and Reserve to the Schipperke. It’s the first for Harmony and breeder/owner/handler Mary Jane Held. Congratulations to them both.

The 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtin’s Lookin for Trouble, took the BIS at Saturday’s Albany Kennel Club encore in West Springfield MA.

The Troy Kennel Club had the Sunday closer and they put judge Filiberto Arniella in the final ring with the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Sandpiper's Castles In The Air, Miss P, the Beagle, the Samoyed, GCH CH Pebbles' Run Play It Again Ham, the returning Scottie, Knopa, the Pug, GCH CH Belaire’s Special Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs, the aforementioned Dalmatian, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Classical’s My Turn.

Going to the head of the line was the Dalmatian, Flash, followed by the Sammie, Bogey. It was the first BIS in 14 final appearances for Flash. Congratulations to breeders Patti & Rod Strand & Julie Bryant, owners Susan M Carter & Paulo Carneiro Ribeiro Filho, and handler Howard Huber III.

When last we visited Springfield IL we told you the country’s Number One Dog All Breeds, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH CH Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, was judge  Chris Walkowicz’ Best In Show at Thursday’s Illinois Capitol Kennel Club.  Matisse would spend the rest of the weekend in Atlanta.

The seven dogs that made it to judge Toddie Clark’s final at Friday’s Mattoon Kennel Club show were the English springer Spaniel, GCH CH Telltale American Ride, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Foxtail's Race For The Chase, the Great Dane, GCH CH Naples Tlbrk Dana Sanroque Cause And Effect, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the Toy Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Cottage Lake's Our Lady Of Fatima, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Cher Ami's Toast With Remy Martin, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Her BIS was the Welsh Terrier, Jennie, and her RBIS, the Springer, Randy.  Jennie is the country’s Number Two Terrier and Number Dog All Breeds with 18 BIS and 76 Terrier Groups this year.

Judge Ann Hearn would see an all new seven at Saturday’s Sandemac Kennel Club final.   They were the English Setter, GCH CH Stargaze'R 'N Wingfield Wait Wait Don'T Tell, the Whippet, CH Meisterhaus Something Royal, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Kamterra's Legato, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Appassionato Jp Monamour's Star, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Fist Face A Penny For Your Thought, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Major Leagues Mighty Joe At Winsome, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Lockenhaus' Rumor Has It V Kenlyn.

Finishing one/two were the GSD, Rumor, and the Russell Terrier, Tribute.  It was the fourth BIS this season for Rumor and breeder/owner/handler  Kent Boyles.

The Illinois Capitol Kennel Club had Sunday’s closer and they asked judge Sharon Krogh to take the final final.  Her seven hopefuls were the retuning Setter, Beagle, Doberman, Bichon, & GSD, the Dandie Dinmont Terrier, GCH CH King's Mtn Angelina Ballerina, and the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Ouachitah One Life To Give.

Taking home the set’s last big rosette was the Doberman, Legato, and the Beagle, JJ.  It was the first BIS for the three year old dog and breeder/owner/handler Kathy Moats.  Congratulations to Kathy and co-breeder/owner Mike Moats.

CHIHUAHUA THREE-PEAT IN IDAHO

One of the most interesting races this year is in the Toy Group where the Pomeranian, GCH CH Hitimes What the Inferno, is being hotly pursued by the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH Sonnus Filho (Sanchez), and the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Rocket Power. This week the Chihuahua, Sonnito, made major gains with three consecutive BIS at the Rapid City Kennel Club show in that Idaho city.

On Sunday judge Carolyn Herbel chose Sonnito out of a lineup that included the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Forever's All Jacked Up CGC, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Houndwalkers Sebastian Of The Groves, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Mandre’s Just My Style Glen Coe, her RBIS, the Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Janwell Midnight Ryder, the French Bulldog, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Thunderhill's Apple Bottom Jeans. 

 Sonnito’s 2014 resume now stands at 25 BIS and 79 Toy Groups, the most by any Toy Dog this year.

NEWNAN KENNEL CLUB

GCH CH Starfire’s Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy 

Judge Dana Cline had the final at Sunday’s Newnan Kennel Club closer in Atlanta GA. The seven dogs that stayed all day were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Ashdown’s Time to Thrill, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Flessner’s International S’Cess, the Portuguese Water Dog, Claircreek’s Impression de Matisse, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Good Time Charlie, the Pomeranian, GCH CH Starfire’s Spank Me Hard Call Me Crazy, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Shine’s Deck the Hall, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

Packing up the big rosette was the Pom, Spanky. Taking home the reserve ribbon was the Skye, Charlie. Spanky did not pick up his first BIS this year until just four months ago. Since then he has been a regular in the final ring. Sunday’s win, against Top Ten competition, was his fourth BIS of the year.
