Region Five, the South Central Region, is where we reside and there were plenty of show options for us this weekend.
As we have written we were at the Memphis Kennel Club’s two days in Southaven MS, just a couple of miles down the street from Graceland where the Elvis faithful were marking the 32nd anniversary of the singer’s death.
CH Rivendell Applauds Janesa
Although there was not one white jumpsuit anywhere, there was a Hound Dog in Dorothy Martin’s final, the Afghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado. There were also the English Springer Spaniel, CH Crossroad Crown Royal Miracle, the Great Pyrenees, CH Saddle Ridge Power Of Won, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Tamedale Orinoco, the Pomeranian, CH Rivendell Applauds Janesa, the Boston Terrier, CH Charlies Man Oh Man, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Sunburst One Cool Dude.
BIS went to the Pom, Baxter, his first this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Carolyn Bonin and co-breeder Jerry Freia.
West of us in Topeka KS, there a whole lot of shaking going on five shows that started on Sunday. We gave you Thursday’s complete line up and told you that the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, had won three of the four shows thus far. Here’s the rest of the story.
CH Devlons Fame And Fortune
On Friday, it was Tomas Gomez judging the final. His seven were the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH Exl’s Leather N Lace, the American Foxhound, CH Devlons Fame And Fortune, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Phillmar Sobe Monster, the abovementioned Scottie, Sadie, the Affenpinscher, CH Tamarin Tug, the Schipperke, CH Dante Fire When Ready, and the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams. Friday, the Cocker made it BIS lucky number seven this year, denying Sadie a clean sweep of the weekend.
CH Sno Klassic Play The Game
Saturday the same Cocker, Scottie, and Puli joined Glenda Dawkins and the Whippet, CH Starline Chanel, the Boxer, CH Bravo N Sunset Stelaing Time, the Pomeranian, CH Pufpride Somewhere In Time, and the Lhasa Apso, CH Rushmar’s Charmer. Sunday, it was the Cocker, Scottie, Puli, and Lhasa with Lorraine Bisso and the Whippet, CH Andauer Porsche Carrera, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Sno Klassic Play The Game, and the Italian Greyhound, CH Bo Bettt Buttons N Bows.
CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice
The west most stop in Region Five was Greeley CO where the hometown Greeley Kennel Club gave us two shows. Saturday’s BIS judge was Ann Hearn and her final group included the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty’s Treasure Island, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Gleneagle’s Who’s Famous Now, the Saint Bernard, CH Alta Vista’s billion Kilowatt CD, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Pug, CH Loralar’s Bachelor Pad, the Dalmatian, TCJ N Satin Star Appeal, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Georgie Girl.
The Smooth Fox, Dodger, picked up the big win, worth more than 2000 points. That should help him move up a spot or two in the top ten.
CH WillowWick Talltean
On Sunday, Dodger was back asking judge Judith Goodin for a second look as were the Doxie, the Dal, and OES. The three new comers were the Brittany, CH WillowWick Talltean, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Nashem’s He;s The Man Of Woodmoor, and the Affenpinscher, CH Tamrin Tug. (That’s right, the same frequent flying Affenpinscher that was in Topeka on Friday)
It was the Brittany, Tally, who grabbed all the points on Sunday. This pretty girl had taken some maternity leave, but she is back and ready to challenge the boys. Congratulations to breeder/owner Catherine Fitzgerald and handler Kellie Martin.
