BACK2BACK BIS IN GEORGIA

GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction

We just heard that things are hot in Perry GA where the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction has posted back2back BIS, winning both Friday’s Southeast Alabama Kennel Club show and Saturday’s Macon Kennel Club’s day one show.

On Friday, London and handler Ann Rairigh swept by the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, the  the Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song At Morningstar to impress judge Toddie Clark.

Saturday London & Ann were joined in Carlos Navarro’s final by the above named GWP, Pharaoh, Giant, & Corgi and the Norwich Terrier, CH Shorttales the Secret of the Mansion of K-Town,  & the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy.

London, the 2011 Poodle Club of America National Specialty winner, keeps turning up the volume, winning big shows across the US.  His 2011 record includes nine BIS & 24 Non-Sporting Group firsts.

RIO GRANDE KC DAY ONE

Dog fanciers descended on Albuquerque NM for the first of four days of doggy fun in the Land of Enchantment.  Helen Lee James’ day one final for the Rio Grande Kennel Club showcased the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Otein Cap'n Jack Sparrow, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek's Kiss and Tell, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria's Wildwood Silver Sixpence, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Dalriada's Mystic, the Havanese, GCH CH Bellatak McDreamy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Enchanted's American Thunder.

She chose as her Best In Show AKC’s Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Poodle, Ally.   Ally & handler Tim Brazier have been turning up the heat lately, bringing their 2011 record to 16 BIS & 35 Non-Sporting Group wins.

KLAMATH KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

Show results are starting to come in now from the west coast.  Up in the Pacific Northwest, the Klamath Dog Fanciers kicked off their two day set in their hometown of Klamath Falls OR.   Day one BIS was handled by Michelle Billings, who chose her Best of the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Gaia of Yoshida Enterprise Jp, the Petit Basset Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Soletrader Donald Duck, the Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Alpenspirit Who’s on First, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Highwayman, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the Bulldog, Devine-A-Bull Cherry Garcia, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Sandfox Winter Sonata.


Her BIS was the Bulldog from the six to nine month bitch class.  We are not certain, but at eight months old, this has got to be a Bulldog record.  We did find a copyrighted photo of this cutey, but you will have to visit Ryan Estrada’s Smiles & Sourmugs to view it.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Kimberly Ann Lucier, co-breeder David Wayne Long, co-owner Thomas Lucier.

MIDLAND MICHIGAN KC DAY ONE

GCH CH Thaon’s Wall Street

The Midland Michigan Kennel Club is hosting two shows in their hometown this weekend.  Today ended with Lee Canalizo choosing the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Wall Street, as the day one BIS.   Wally & handler Mark Bettis shared the big ring with the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Mt View’s Ripsnorter Silver Charm, the Boxer, GCH CH Boca’s Royal Palms Splish Splash, the Lakeland Terrier, GCH CH Talydale friend of the Force, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Hallmark Jolei Austin Powers, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Northwind Nothing But Trouble, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, GCH CH Swan Crest Windy City Robert Henry.

Wally just picked up his first all breed BIS two weeks ago.  Just shy of his third birthday, Wally is just hitting his stride.   Look for him at a show near you.

INDIANHEAD KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

Up in Eau Claire WI, the Indianhead Kennel Club got their two show weekend underway with Betty Anne Stenmark choosing a BIS on day one.  Her options were the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Robin Crest Spectacular Bid JH, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Paradigm Aariel's Entourage RA CD, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Border Terrier, GCH CH Meadowlake  Simpy Sinful, the Long Coat Chihuahua, GCH CH  Kokura Yama JP Emirio, the Bulldog, GCH CH Evergreen's Miss Congeniality, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Blue Heavens Forget Me Not.

Her Best was the Border Terrier, Maya.  It’s the first BIS for Maya and breeder/owner/handler Karen E Fitzpatrick and her lucky 13th Terrier Group First this year.  Congratulations to Karen, co-breeder Tracy VanNiel, and fellow owners David Fitzpatrick DVM, Joyce Wilkinson, & Kiki Courtelis.

RAVENNA KENNEL CLUB DAY ONE

Great Lakes exhibitors joined the action today in Tallmadge OH for the Ravenna Kennel Club’s day one show.  The seven dogs that BIS judge Linda More saw were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Pharaoh Hound,, GCH CH Tiara Ne-Kabu Abu Simbel Ankh, the Samoyed, GCH CH Stolichnaya, the Airedale Terrier, Victorianne Mr. Big, the Japanese Chin,  Lanceian Pleasant Abi at Dekobras, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwood Ale Kai Walking On Air, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Heiress.

Her BIS was the latest contribution to the dog fancy from Poodle People Extraordinaire, Karen LeFrak, Wendell Sammet, Joseph Vergnetti, & Ellen Charles.  The 20 month old bitch has been consistently collected Group wins, with four Non-Sporting Group Ones so far this year.  Maybe someone can take time to get a photo of this girl?

CHESTER VALLEY KC DAY TWO

Several of our top ranked dogs are in Ludwigs Corner PA for the day two show of the Chester Valley Kennel Club.  Today’s fell to Peggy Beisel-McIlwaine who had her choice of the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca's Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagic’s Candie Hamm of Pebbles’Run, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknoor Cross the Ts, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Dalmatian, CH Spotlight’s Ruffian, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Nchanted Silk Lining.

Her Best In Show was the Country’s Number Five Dog All Breeds, the Affenpinscher, Joey.  Joey has collected eight all breed BIS, enough to make our Top Five a game of leap frog.  Where will Joey land?  Check back with us after the weekend is over.

ST HUBERT KC DAY TWO

The St Hubert Kennel Club capped their two day stay in North Stonington CT this weekend with Theresa Hundt’s final with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is The Night, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Kuluta Along the Watchtower, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Kenro’s Stealing Time, THE Cairn Terrier, GCH CH Maverston’s Double Dutch, the Long Coat Chihuahua, CH Krispin on the Fly, the Dalmatian, GCH CH Riverside’s The Sisters, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree’s Mister Baggin.

Her Best was the Ridgeback, Toren.   it’s the first for the two year old.   Congratulations to breeders Marsa Hatfield, Linda Clark, & Michael & Cindy Well, owners Marsa Hatfield, Cindy Well , & Eric Belt, and handler Patricia Clark.

GREATER FORT MYERS DC DAY ONE

Pat Hastings was in Fort Myers FL for today’s day one show of the Greater Fort Myers Dog Club.  Her BIS was the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman.  Buddy and handler Larry Cornelius were challenged for the BIS by the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Gemini Fallchase the Butler Did It, the Saluki, GCH CH Baha Persian of Interest NAJ, the Samoyed, CH White Magic Seasoned Traveler, the Pomeranian, CH Starfire’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen's He's A Heartbreaker, and the Briard, GCH CH Le Coeur D’Ange de Briardale.

It’s the fourth BIS for Buddy and his 38th Terrier Group top prize.  Only one dog in the US has won more Group Ones.  Congratulations to Larry, breeders Eugene Z Zaphiris & Matthew H Stander, and owners Carolyn Koch & Victor Malzoni Jr.

SOUTH OREGON KC DAY TWO

The South Oregon Kennel Club completed their two show set in Klamath Falls OR with Darryl Vice naming his BIS from the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH CH Javahill Surf N’ Aloha Sun, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Catawba’s Take No Prisoners CD, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH Trozian Onyx at Torum, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Highwood’s Big Shot, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Sanfox Winter Sonata.

BIS was the Kerry, Troy.  It’s the first for Troy this year.  Congratulations to breeders NA Lawson & W Orton, owners Ed & Lynn Yingling, and handler Bill McFadden.

AMERICAN BOXER CLUB

The American Boxer Club wrapped up their week long stay in Fort Mitchell KY with Shirley Bell choosing the 2011 National Specialty winner.  Ms Bell’s BISS was the country’s Number Four Dog All Breeds, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream.  Other major awards included the Best of Opposite Sex, GCH CH Katandy’s Fast Forward, Best of Winners/Winners Dog, Naja’s Mi-T Alliance, & Winners Bitch, Carrillon’s Grand Monet.  Among the preliminary competitions were the Top Twenty, judged by Joseph Gregory, won by GCH CH R and G’s Mystical Dancer.

BISS Scarlett’s 12 all breed BIS & 33 Working Group Firsts have contributed to a very tight race among our Top Five.  This Specialty win, Scarlett’s third straight National, contributes another 443 points to her total.  Congratulations to breeders Tina Porter & Lee Stanton, owners Debbie McCarroll & Mark Fagan & Mrs Jack Billhardt & Sergio Tenenbaum, and handler Diego Fernando Garcia.

CHESTER VALLEY KENNEL CLUB

Ken Buxton was in Ludwig Corner PA today to choose a BIS for the Chester Valley Kennel Club.  His special seven were the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, the Rottweiler, GCH CH D’Oro’s Solido’s Felicano Uno, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Cracknor Cross the Ts, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Chow Chow, Ch Jenuine Absolut  Gold, and the Puli, GCH CH Cordmaker Rumpus Bumpus.

The BIS went to AKC’s Number One Dog All Breed’s the Cocker, Beckham.  Beckham has an almost 10,000 point lead on the rest of the Top Ten, with 17 all breed Best and 52 Sporting Group firsts this season, 52 Group ones…in May…enough said.

ST HUBERT KC DAY ONE

The show weekend got underway in New England today with the day one show of the St Hubert Kennel Club in North Stonington CT.  Dr Robert Indeglia’s final featured the Vizsla, GCH CH Suzu’s Hard Nut To Crack, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Kuluta along the Watchtower, the Bullmastiff, GCH CH Highpoint’s Fifth Wheel Don’t Blink, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Castle Rock's SBigStaff Mad About You , the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Foxfire’s Silk Nitey, the Miniature Poodle, CH Surrey Sugar Barry, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Propwash Reckon.

Best today went to the AmStaff, Maddy.  Maddy and handler Kim Rudzik now have six all breed BIS this year, three in the last week.  That’s called momentum.

COLUMBUS KENNEL CLUB

Our second Thursday  this week, the Columbus Kennel Club show,  was in Perry GA, just south of Atlanta.  Stephen Hurt’s final included the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here JH, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Bayleigh Shaireab Pinball Wizard, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Dalarno Nite Song At Morningstar.

His Best was the country’s Number Two Dog All Breeds, the Peke, Malachy.  Malachy  has been steadily pursuing the Number One Dog.  He now has 12 all breed BIS and 32 Toy Group top prizes this year.

BICHON FRISE CLUB OF AMERICA

The cotton candy of the dog world were in Houston Texas on Mothers Day this year for the 2011 National Specialty of the Bichon Frise Club of America.  Jacqueline Stacy was surrounded by walking clouds of perfectly coiffed canines as she chose the country’s Number Nine Dog All Breeds, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy as her BISS.  Joining Drummer in the winners’ row were the Best of Opposite Sex, CH Gemstone She Is a Belle of the Ball, the Winners Dog/Best of Winners, Glenleigh Gangs N’ Roses, and the Winners Bitch, Risgae’s Catch the Rainbow.

Drummer and Bichon maven, handler Scott Sommer, have collected 13 all breed BIS and 30 Non-Sporting Group firsts so far this year, earning them the Number Four spot in the Dog Show Poop all breed rankings.  Congratulations to Scott, breeders Sandra & Keith Hanson & Shirley & Richard Hamilton, and owners Barbara Weidner, Laurie Darman, Kim Griffin, & Cecelia Ruggles.

His BIS was the Bichon, Beau.  Beau was fresh from the Bichon Club of America’s National Specialty where he picked up an AOM against the toughest breed competition around.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Vickie Halstead, owner Mary Wangsness, and handler Bill McFadden.

Best went to the Dal, Gambler.   It’s the first for Gambler, Congratulations to breeders/owners C. Glen Walter & Edite B. Walter, breeder Kathrine Everett, and handler John Benoit.

Sunday Gambler and the above named Whippet & GSD would be joined in Terry Berrios’s BIS ring by the  English Cocker Spaniel, GCH Nonnies No Doubt, the Samoyed, GCH Sammantic Now Or Never, the Norwich Terrier, GCH Huntwood's Joy Ride Of Moorcroft, and the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Knolland Amber Moon.

Here on Wednesday morning we are still gathering results from this past weekend.  We hear that the Giant Schnauzer, CH Skansen’s Holy Knight, won both top prizes at Saturday & Sunday’s Greater Panama City Dog Fanciers Association     shows in Marianna FL.


On Saturday Knight and handler Adriano Rocha were accompanied in Ruth Prehn’s final by the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Black Diamond‘s Angel Dust, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Birnam’s sweet Tea, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Carywyre High Voltage, the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH Bo-Bett’s Open Button, the Lhasa Apso, CH Xerlane’s Kid Rock, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Sunburst one Cool Dude.

On Sunday Arlene Benko chose Knight over the Weimaraner, GCH CH Moonstone‘s Earth Angel, the Saluki, CH Baha Persian of Interest Naj, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, GCH CH Prada Classic Aran Isle at Donellas, the above name IG, the Bulldog, CH Lakeshore‘s Can‘t keep a Good Man Down, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Equinox Ad Astra.

This handsome guy won a four point major at just ten months of age, a remarkable accomplishment for a large breed.  Now at just 20 months of age he has his first two Working Groups and his first two BIS.  He will just get better.  Congratulations to Adriano, breeder, Sylvia Hammastom, and owner Cornelia King.

IRISH SETTER CLUB OF AMERICA

The Irish Setter Club of America drew nearly 300 entries this past week for their National Specialty in Oklahoma City OK.  Sam Houston MacDonald completed the regular dog classes and then handed over his Winners, Tramore Notorious (from the 9-12 Puppy class!), to Robert McKay to finish up with the regular bitch classes & the intersexes competition.  His Winners/Best of  Winners, from the Bred By Exhibitor class, was Kellyglens All About The Journey.  Best of Opposite Sex went to the three year old dog GCH CH Windntide Mr. Sandman.  You may remember Clooney as the BIS of this past November’s Kennel Club of Philadelphia show.  The big prize, ISCTA 2011 BISS, went to GCH CH Antares Ameilia Earhart.

The win will make four year old Lucy the Number One Irish Setter in the US based on breed points.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Mary & Pat Goeke and handler Monica Lamontagne.

TRENTON KC DAY TWO

Our weekend ended today with the second of the Trenton Kennel Club’s two shows in West Township NJ.  Joan Zielinski’s final included the Golden Retriever, CH Sweetlea’s Follow Me, the Greyhound, GCH CH GrandCru Clos Erasmus, the Rottweiler, GCH CH D'Oro Solidos Feliciano Uno, The Welsh Terrier, CH Bayleigh Shaireab’s Pinball Wizard, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, The Schipperke, GCH CH De Lamer Sea Ya At The Top, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins.

Her Best was the top Bearded Collie in AKC history, Roy.  This win will make Roy the Number One Herding Dog in the country once again.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Larry & Angela Stein, Lesley Woodcock, & Robert Lamm,  owners Ellen Charles & Susan Ross, and handler Clifford Steele.

Our last western stop is Pomona CA where the Rio Honda Kennel Club held sway for two days.  You will recall we told you about Saturday’s winners.  

Sunday Douglas Johnson chose his BIS from the Irish Water Spaniel, CH Whistle Stop’s Wind on the Water, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Splash’s The Professor, the Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Magic Berner’s Phoenix Rising CD RA, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Major Impact of Hansenhaus, the Chinese Crested, CH Kulana’s Revolution, the French Bulldog, GCH CH Lebull’s new Hope Wooly Bully, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Segni at Coventry.

Best went to the Corgi, Molly.  Molly is the Number Three Herding Dog, with 19 Herding Group top prizes and four all breed BIS.

OLYMPIA DOG FANCIERS

From Elma WA, we have our third instance this weekend of a first timer winning back2back BIS.  The Toy Fox Terrier, GCH CH Valcopy C-Lyn Dracula, took both the top prizes at this weekend’s Olympia Dog Fanciers Association’s shows.

On Saturday the 23 month old was Dr Roger Pritchard’s pick over the English Springer Spaniel, CH Oxbow's Gold Medal, the Longhaired Dachshund, GCH CH Add-Sim's Scout of MT, the  Bernese Mountain Dog, GCH CH Alpenspirit Who's On First, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Highway Man, the Lhasa Apso, Chic Choix Parti Parade, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Snowdowne When In Rome.

Sunday, the Toy Fox, the AmStaff, & the OES returned to see Jospeh Joly.  Rounding out the final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Poole's Ide Got Water RN, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Foxtail's Master Of The Sea, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Big Dog Farm Oh My Baby Huey, and the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Xu-Fei's Ruff-Cut Black Magic.

We remind you, that like all three of these first timers, Dracula was challenged by multiple BIS winners.  For all you folks out there that think you don’t have a chance at the big win, take heart.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Dana Plonkey & Lynn McKee.

The day two show of the Utah Valley Kennel Club finished off with Saturday’s BIS winner, the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Harrier, GCH CH Hitech Innovator, the Kuvasz, GCH CH Szumeria’s Wildwood Silver Six Pence, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH The Highway Man, the Maltese, GCH CH Rhapsody’s Regarding Henry, the American Eskimo Dog, GCH CH Silveroaks First & Foremost, and Friday’s BIS winner, the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH GCH CH Rocheuses Me And My Shadow Of Cornus.

It was the Bouvier, Casper, picking up his second BIS of the set.  At three years old this guy is just hitting his maturity.  I see a whole lot of winning yet.

BIG SPRING KENNEL CLUB

The second Texas club that brought us shows this weekend was the Big Spring Kennel Club who gave us two this weekend in their hometown, 300 miles west of Dallas.  The big news in Big Spring is the Havanese, GCH CH D'Vas Spellbound In Motion, who grabbed both the BIS this weekend.

On Saturday GraDee was challenged by the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea, the Petit Bassett Griffon Vendeen, GCH CH Jodells Boogie Back To Texas Of MNM, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Shalimars Golden Ticket, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Itsy Bitsy Troubadour , the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH Pikkinokka Badgr Sir Barksalot, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Rainey Creeks Roll The Dicem before catching Edd Bivin’s eye.

Sunday Toddie Clark had four of  Saturday’s finalists and the Neapolitan Mastiff, CH Bruno Dellla Vecchia Roma, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Solana Big Lebowski, & the Old English Sheepdog, CH To-Jo Rhapsody In Blue Denim.

Six year old GraDee is no stranger to the BIS ring.  He’s made finals since 2008.  However, we believe these are his first all breed BIS.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Deeanna Hinkle & Breanna Ehlers, co-owner Suzanne Johnston., and handler Luis Calderon.

The Caddo Kennel Club was one of two clubs holding shows in Texas this weekend.  They held their two shows in Marshall TX just west of Shreveport LA.  On Saturday the lucky seven who made it to Jane Roppolo’s final were the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Summit’s The Titanic, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Horizon's Absolute Cosmopolitan CGC, the Scottish Terrier, CH McScots Karascots Rufftons Six Shooter, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH  Bekenhall Jailhouse Rock, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Sunsclipe Mystique, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Happiharbor Saddle Lane Ty.

It was the Pharaoh Hound, Qing, adding to his breed record number of BIS wins.  The win brings the record to 32 Bests, 17 this year.

Sunday Qing and handler Brian Livingston were back with the above named Golden & Tibetan, for a second round in Carol Jean Nelson’s BIS ring.  Making their first final of the weekend were the Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Zilya's Chicago Blues Fusion At Runes RN CD, the Kerry Blue Terrier, CH Torum The Spaniard, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Chic Yes We Can At Joyal, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Coventry Pennant.

Best went to the two year old Chin.  This was his first Toy Group and the first BIS  by a Chin this year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Vicki Dovellos and co-owner Colleen Hines.

The first report we bring you in the Monday Morning Mop Up is from a club that opted to withhold results until this morning for some reason known only to the show committee.  Too bad, we would have loved to tell you in real time about the spectacular Black Russian Terrier, GCH CH Lancelot Chiornyy Prints RN TT CGC, who swept both of  the secretive Oconee River Kennel Club’s two shows in Watkinsville GA this weekend.

On Saturday Saint and handler Jennifer Bittner were accompanied in David Bolus’ final by the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Reece Afterhours The Buck Stops Here, the 15” Beagle, CH Lochnow Something Good, the Miniature Bull Terrier, GCH CH Evolution’s Eddie Izzard, the Yorkshire Terrier, GCH CH Tophat That’s Amore, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dacun Kaylen’s He’s A Heartbreaker, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Dalarno Nite Song At Morningstar.

Sunday Judith Goodin’s options were Saint, fellow Saturday finalists the Beagle, Mini Bull, Yorkie, & Poodle, the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Gemini Fallchase The Butler Did It, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Myshara’s Dream Girl.

Three year old Saint is yet another great import now here in the US.  Saint is the Number One BRT (all breed points) in the country and the only BRT to win a BIS this year.  Congratulations to Jennifer, breeder Ludmilla Lameko and owners Earl Archer & Patricia Archer.

ST LOUIS DOG BREEDERS

The St Louis Dog Breeders Association  closed the three day set today with Susan St John-Brown’s final seven, the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Cerise Tender Is the Night, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Torquay Midnight Confession, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Protocol’s Veni Vidi Vici, the Standard Manchester Terrier, GCH CH Oakwoods Hollywood, the Pug, GCH CH Caper's Sirius Endeavor, the Keeshoden, GCH CH Confetti's St Nick, and a Pembroke Welsh Corgi from the Bred By Exhibitor class, Riverside Believe in Me.

Her BIS was the Beagle, Lola.  That’s the fifth all breed BIS for Lola and breeder/owner/handler Marcelo Chagas this year, bringing Lola’s record setting career total to 37.

TRENTON KC DAY ONE

With over 2500 dogs entered, today’s Trenton Kennel Club’s BIS was the weekend’s big prize.  The seven hopefuls who gathered for Barbara Dempsey Alderman were the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Thaon’s Mowgli, the Giant Schnauzer, CH Kenro's Stealing Time, the Skye Terrier, GCH CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Banana Joe V Tani Kazari, the Standard Poodle, GCH CCH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, and the Bearded Collie, GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins. 

Taking home the heavy silver was the Affenpinscher, Joey.  The win, Joey’s seventh this year, gives us a four dog race for the Number Two spot.  There is still one more show to go in New Jersey tomorrow and we already have three of the Top Five there and the other two within driving distance.  Could be a real interesting Monday.

Up in Bucyrus OH the Crawford County Kennel Club closed out their two show stop with Robert Stein’s final featuring the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Casablanca’s Thrilling Seduction, the Wirehaired Dachshund, GCH CH J’s Starbarrack’s Babybug’s Devil of a Bug, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Wonderland‘s Heavily Armed Agitator, the Japanese Chin, CH Marquis Tiz Karuz'n For Hotties,  the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Hillwood Ale Kai Walking On Air, and the old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Aryakas Hermes.

He went with the Number Four Dog in the US, the Boxer, Scarlett.   Can she regain the Number Three spot?  We will have to await the results from West Windsor Township NJ where dogs are scrambling for major points at the Trenton Kennel Club’s two shows today & tomorrow.

Before we start with the Mothers Day offerings, we have one more of yesterday’s events to bring to you.  California fanciers were in Pomona for the day one show of the Rio Honda Kennel Club.  Sandy Wheat’s final included the Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retriever, GCH Javahill Surf N'Aloha Sun, the Whippet, GCH CH Counterpoint Painted by Bohem, the Newfoundland, GCH Kilyka's King Of Cool, the Airedale, CH Brisline's Goforit Energizer Bunny, the Brussels Griffon, GCH CH Cashross' First Griff Tina Fey, the Lhasa Apso, CH Rufkins Squeezin Into A Speedo Kh, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Avalons Frontier Hotspur.

Best went to the 23 month old NSDTR, Nalu.  It’s her first and we understand the first for a NSDTR bitch.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Linda Fitzmaurice & April Pasko.

We now have all the details from Friday's & Saturday's shows in South Jordan UT.  You can read about the Intermountain Kennel Club’s day one show here.  Friday’s IKC day two event ended with Peggy Conger picking the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me And My Shadow Of Cornus, as her Best In Show.  Also on hand were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Borzoi, GCH CH Aashtoria Wildhunt Hidden Agenda, the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Caryola's Antigua, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, the Maltese, GCH CH Rhapsody Regarding Henry, and the Bulldog, GCH CH River City's Poetic Justice.

It was less than four weeks ago that the Bouvier, Casper, picked up his first BIS.  Looks like he’s here to stay.

Yesterday, the Utah Valley Kennel Club took over for their first of two.  Their day one final included above named Weimaraner, the Afghan Hound, CH Mahali Arriva Meadowlark, the Samoyed, GCH CH Glacier's N Rowdy's Czargent Trouble, the previously mentioned Smooth Fox, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the Lhasa Apso, CH Sera Mar Anasazi Thunder, and the Bouvier, Casper.

Jean Fournier would choose as her Best the country’s Number Three Sporting Dog, the Weimaraner, Jimmie.  That brings Jimmie’s 2011 record to four all breed BIS and 19 Sporting Group Firsts.  This one is a comer.

We have some bits & pieces for you from yesterday.  First from Jefferson WI we hear that the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel was Richard Byrd’s BIS at Saturday’s Janesville-Beloit Kennel Club show.  Joining Cha Cha and handler Lori Wilson were the Brittany, GCH CH Star Flight Jumpin Jack Flash RN OA OAJ, the Samoyed, GCH CH Sammantic Now Or Never, the Border Terrier, CH Meadowlake’s Sharp Dressed Girl, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Ken's N' Roobarb N' The Horse Ya Rode In On, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Heartlands Creme Da La Creme CD.

The competition continued yesterday in Gray Summit MO with the Jefferson County Kennel Club Of Missouri show.  Nancy Smith Hafner chose her Best from the seven of the Weimaraner, CH Kolata's Moving Violation JH, the Longhaired Dachshund, CH Vongays Rubears Black Velvet Wrap SL, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Reddawn’s Eminent Horizon,, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Brackley He's My Warrior, the Keeshond, CH Confetti's St Nick, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Bandheim Captain Crunch.

He celebrated his third birthday on Friday and won the BIS on Saturday, the Dachshund, Sammy.  Sammy has only been shown sparingly.  We hope this win encourages him to get out more.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Gail & Von Richards and handler Debbie Melgreen.
