All the glamour may be in Long Beach this weekend, but there was hardcore competition in Cleveland OH today, where 1,933 dogs gathered (on a Thursday yet!) for the Lorain County Kennel Club show. The nation’s number eight dog, the Harrier, CH Downhome Family Tradition was there, as was the country‘s top Pekingese and number 19 all breed dog, CH Pequest Match Point, and the country‘s number one Keeshond, CH Daimler s Caviar Dreams.
They were joined in Judge Lester Mapes’ BIS ring by the Golden Retriever, CH Easthill Broxden Pop Star, the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH Adesa’s Floats Like A Butterfly, the Wire Fox Terrier, CH Jadee Top Secret, and the Puli, CH Cordmake Field of Dreams. The Keeshond came out of large breed and group entry (37 and 231 respectively) and kept of his head of steam going all the way to Best In Show. Congratulations to breeder/owners Terry & Diane Benz.

Billy Wheeler you put me to shame!! I work for Iams/Eukanuba and I have teammates at both the Cleveland show and the National who are supposed to send me "on-the-spot" reports. But you have got me beat by a mile! MAJOR KUDOS TO YOUR BLOG!!!!!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Bev. We try really hard to make our reports timely, accurate, and fun. In the end, we all have the same end in sight, promote the dogs and protect our rights to keep them. I'm glad you enjoy the blog.
