FISHING FOR POINTS IN WYOMING

GCH CH Chaparral Tour De France

When we were children we spent summers trout fishing in the streams of Wyoming.  Dog fanciers spent Memorial Day weekend fishing for points in Casper & Laramie WY.

The fun started on Friday in Casper where the Central Wyoming Kennel Club held their two shows.  Day one’s final was in the hand of judge Neil Graves.  The seven dogs he considered were the Brittany, GCH CH Rainbow Splash's Ruggedly Handsome, the Greyhound, GCH CH Chaparral Tour De France, the Siberian Husky, CH Takhari Stinkin Ice Winter Haven, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Laroh's Irish Road Warrior, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Miletree Northern Star at Shirmont, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Sundancer Hylan Shotru Secret Dawn, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Von Zecher’s Broken Arrow.

His Best was the Greyhound, Lance, and his Reserve was the Brittany, Beckett.  It’s the first BIS for the three year old dog.   Congratulations to breeder/owner Carol Curlee, co-breeder Mercedes Vila , and handler Tiffany Marzluf.

The Laramie Kennel Club took over in their hometown on Sunday and put Stephen Hubbell in the final ring with the previously seen Springer, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, GCH CH Superridge’s Axl Of Lionridge , the above named Rottweiler, the Miniature Schnauzer, CH Carmel Kwic Sonte Pony, the Pekingese, GCH CH Dunkirk Imagine That, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Kimik's Sir Gawain, and the OES, Swagger.

His top two were the Rottweiler, Buck, and the Springer, Seemore.  It’s the first BIS for Buck and handler Alvin (Beep) Lee.  Congratulations to Beep, breeders Anthony Siress & Daviann Mitchell, and owners Dennis & Tracy Austin.

The OES, Swagger, would collect the BIS at Monday’s closer.  Judge Christina Hubbell would also like the Akita, GCH CH Stardust's See You At The Show.  Looking on were the Springer, Seemore, the previously seen Ridgeback, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Random Ruse, the same Peke, and the Lhasa, Dawn.   Swagger is the nation’s Number One Herding Dog with six BIS in 21 final appearances.
