Purina Farms in Gray Summit MO, near St Louis, always draws top competition and this week was no exception.  However, it was the unranked Toy Poodle, GCH CH Sharbelle Silhouette, that came away with two big rosettes.

It all started Friday with the Mississippi Valley Kennel Club’s opener and Col Joe Purkhiser mulling over the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration with Traddles, the Saluki, Starlite-Karob's Shaken Not Stirred, the Newfoundland, CH Pouch Cove's Seabrook Enough Said, the Russell Terrier, GCH CH Goldsands Columbus, the Brussels Griffon, CH Fist Face A Penny For Your Thoughts, the Dalmatian, CH Centurion Anticipation Charming Dalfield, and the Puli, CH Cordmaker Topsy Turvey.

It was the country’s Number Two Terrier, the Russell, Bosse, picking up the top prize, while the little guy, the Griff collected the Reserve.  Bosse now has ten BIS and a Number Eight All Breeds ranking.

Day two found Jackie Stacy in the final ring with the same Clumber, Seymour, the Saluki, GCH CH Aurora’s The Song and Dance Man, the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall I Dream of Style, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Shaireab Bayleigh Maid of Honor, the above mentioned Toy Poodle, Silly, the Finnish Spitz, GCH CH Finkkilas Nalle Poika, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

Taking home the BIS was the Clumber, Seymour, and the grabbing the RBIS was the Welsh Terrier, Jennie.  Seymour is the country’s Number Two Sporting Dog, and the Number Seven Dog All Breeds with five BIS this season and a very healthy 35 Sporting Groups.

The rest of the weekend belonged to the Toy Poodle, Silly who would collect the first BIS from  Terry Stacy in Sunday’s Missouri Rhineland Kennel Club final ring.  Judge Stacy would also like the  Beagle, Miss P, whom he gave the RBIS. Looking on were the Pointer, GCH CH Seasyde Edgehill Heart Of Gold, the 15” Beagle, GCH CH Tashtins Lookin For Trouble, the previously seen Newfoundland, the Russell, Bosse, the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Déjà vu Im The Prince, and the above named Puli.

Silly would close it out on Monday with the MRKC day two Best In Show.  Judge Barbara Dempsey Alderman’s Reserve was the now familiar Corgi, Libby.  Also looking for the win were the Pointer, GCH CH Chesterhope State of T Art, the Beagle, Miss P, the aforementioned Boxer, Macey, the Russell, Bosse, and the returning Finnish Spitz.

It was a little more than a month ago that Silly collected her first BIS.  Now she and owner/handler Janet Lange-Moses have three.  Nothing like a little encouragement.
