This is a light show weekend with just 17 all breed shows in
six different locations. Last week we
had 43 all breed shows at 15 different sites.
The week is already over in Stormville NY where the Putnam Kennel Club
started their two days on Friday.
Gene Blake’s final were the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH
Whistlestop’s Riley on Fire, the Whippet, GCH CH Sporting Fields Heavenly Body,
the Rottweiler, Eis Haus Ivy League Big Red CD, the Kerry Blue Terrier, GCH CH
Class Act By Hallsblu, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the Standard
Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Mikamoto, and the Briard, GCH CH Lighting Strike El

His top two were the IWS, Riley, and the Toy Poodle,
Sakura. Riley is the country’s Number
One Irish Water Spaniel and Number Three Sporting Dog with ten BIS this
year. The question is how close is she
to a Top Ten berth. Check back with us
mid-week and we will tell you.
Riley and the above named Rottweiler, Standard Poodle, &
Briard would all be back on Saturday to see BIS judge Ken Murray along with the
Afghan Hound, CH Scaramouche Show Must Go On, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, Sheaman’s
Son Of A Irishman, and the Italian Greyhound, GCH CH GDM Zenyatta at Lakeridge.
Saturday Riley would play bridesmaid to the Standard Poodle,
who would take the BIS. It’s the first BIS for the two year old
bitch. Congratulations to breeder Cindy
Rochow, owner Robert McL Smith III, and handler Kaz Hosaka.
