GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe

Anyone who has shown dogs on the west coast of the US knows the I-5, the freeway that runs from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington.  It’s I-5 that makes traveling the extended distances required to participate competitively in the sport.  This week west coast exhibitors were in Stockton CA, some 80 miles due east of San Francisco for four shows hosted by the Kennel Club Of Salinas and the Sierra-Tuolumne Kennel Club. 

GCH CH Absolutely Talk of the Town

The KCS got things started on Friday and put Fred Ferris in the final ring with the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Dogwdcreek’s La Vita E Belle, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Steinhaus Maxim Courage RN, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely Talk of the Town, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Victory’s Spencer, the Keeshond, GCH CH Summerwind's Rumor Has It, and the Border Collie, GCH CH Kensington's Artful Dodger.

Collecting the stop’s first BIS was the Basset, Tiger.  The Smooth Fox, Taylor, took the RBIS.  Tiger, now under the guidance of handler Mike Stone, has four BIS and 15 Hound Groups this year.

Saturday the KCS did it all over again this time with Gloria Geringer choosing the top two.  Her options were the Sussex Spaniel, CH Sundowners Orion Coast To Coast CGC, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Boxer, CH Daybreak's Bad Influence, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole Baye, the same Chin, & Keeshond, and the Puli, CH Mt Hood's Leapin' Linni Of Tordor. 

Finishing one/two were the Schnauzer, Justin, and the Bloodhound, Kissy.  While there is little likelihood that any one will catch the Number One Terrier who is also the Number One Dog All Breeds, Justin, the Number Four Terrier, is certainly looking to improve his standing with nine BIS and 36 Terrier Groups.

CH CH Quiet Creek’s Kiss and Tell

The STCK took over on Sunday and finished the day with judge Sidney Marx choosing a BIS and RBIS.  The seven hoping for one of the awards were the Vizsla, CH Jen's Penny Tamaron Tiana's Perfect Alibi, Bloodhound, Kissy, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Spyglass N Aviator Sail With The Wind, the Miniature Schnauzer, Justin, the Maltese, GCH CH Richelieu Valentino, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH PaRay's Power & Privilege, and the Canaan Dog, GCH CH Pleasant Hill Magnum Of Samara.

Best In Show was the Bloodhound, Kissy, and Reserve was the Schnauzer, Justin.  Kissy is AKC’s Number One Bloodhound and Number Three Hound with seven BIS and 28 Hound Groups.

GCH CH Karisma Heart And Soul

At Monday’s STKC closer the previously seen GSP, PWD, Miniature Schnauzer, & Keeshond were joined by the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Oxford Victim of Love, the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Karisma Heart And Soul, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential, in Gloria Kerr’s final.  Taking home the last big rosette was the Silky, Jedi.  Packing up the reserve ribbon was the Miniature Schnauzer, Justin.  It was the first for Jedi.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Kathleen Gilbert and owners Margaret Hodge, Margaret Gagliardi & Pam Laperruque.
