WWW: THE STANDARD POODLES

If there is an iconic show dog in the public’s mind, it is the Standard Poodle. This year we have several that could be contenders at this year’s Westminster. Whom will we Watch at Westminster (WWW)?

CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely

The number one Standard Poodle in the US last year was CH Hillwood Dassin De-Lovely. She finished 2009 with 19 all breed Bests and a hefty 81 Non-Sporting Groups. Sissy is the collaboration of four of the most influential Poodle people in history, breeder/owner/handler Dr Joseph D Vergnetti and co-owners Ellen Charles, Karen LeFrak and Wendell Sammet.

CH Dawin Spitfire

The Standard Poodle that dominated the last quarter of 2009 was CH Dawin Spitfire. Jetta and handler Sarah Riedl capped their 13 BIS & 54 Non-Sporting Groups with a Group win at the 2009 AKC/Eukanuba National Championship. Jetta was bred and is owned by Linda Campbell.

CH Jaset’s Satisfaction

The Standard Poodle that has dominated 2010 thus far is CH Jaset’s Satisfaction, who collected two all breed Bests & eight Non-Sporting Groups in January. Ann Rairigh handles the 22 month old London for breeders/owners Sandra Tompkins & Chris Bailey.

CH Brighton Lakeridge Summer In The Hamptons

Last year’s Westminster Non-Sporting Group was won by Tim Brazier with the incredible Standard Poodle, CH Randenn Tristar Affirmation. Tim has stayed close to his Washington State home this year with his white Standard Poodle, CH Brighton Lakeridge Summer In The Hamptons. Yet he and Summer still collected seven BIS & 24 Group Ones. Tim & Summer have three Groups thus far this year, two at Palm Springs & one in Portland, ‘nuff said.

We’ll be right back with the rest of the Non-Sporting Group.
