We wrap up our WWW, Whom to Watch at Westminster, with the Herding Group.
The number one Herding Dog in 2009 and the 2009 Westminster Herding Group winner was the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams. Conrad finished 2009 as number three Dog All Breeds with 33 BIS & 112 Herding Group Firsts, repeat, 112 Herding Group Firsts. He was bred by Patricia Turner, Anna Quigley & Alice & Steve Lawrence, is owned by Susan Huebner & Jackie Beaudoin, and is handled by Linda Pitts.
The number three Herding Dog last year was the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins, who finished the year strongly with 18 all breed Bests and 80 Herding Group top awards. Roy is the current Herding Group leader in 2010 with nine Group firsts. Roy was bred by Larry & Angela Stein, R Lamm & Lesley Woodcock, who co-own Roy with Ellen M Charles & Susan Ross. He is handled by Alessandra Folz & Clifford W Steele.
The Rough Collie, CH Sylvan Argent Simply Irresistible, 2009’s number four Herding Dog, finished 2009 with a bang winning the Herding Group at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship, just one of her 54 Herding Group wins last year. Sax also collected 13 all breed Bests along the way. Sax was bred by Cindi Bossart, Connie Dubois (who also are owners) & James Efron. Additional owners are Nancy Comparato, Debbie Green, Jennifer Mosing, Dr. Stacy Smith and Leah Warner. Sax is handled by Brian Livingston.
The Westminster Herding Group will be judged by Linda C More, a former professional handler and Shetland Sheepdog breeder. We like the Shetland Sheepdog, CH PaRay’s Cirque Du Soleil. Cirque is another dog who finished 2009 strongly accumulating five BIS and 18 Herding Groups. She capped 2009 with a Group Two behind Sax at the National Championship. She has carried the momentum into 2010 with Group Ones at both Palm Springs shows and at one of the giant Portland shows. Cirque was bred by Tray Pittman, Paul Flores & Mark Hersman, is owned by Tray, Joann Wixson & D Ann Clabby, and handled by Tray.
We will be bringing you breed results from Westminster through out tomorrow. Be sure to join us tomorrow at 7:45 EST for our Garden Party. Almost 25,000 people did last year!
Go Sax!!!!
