We are back on line after a few days spent with Best Buy’s
Geek Squad. We hate it when all these
wonderful pieces of technology turn on you.
Let’s start up with that wonderful road trip that is the Idaho/Montana canine
equivalent of an Iron Man. When last we
visited our ambitious group of road trippers were in Blackfoot ID where the
Eagle Rock Kennel Club was set up for two days.
GCH CH Absolutely Talk of the Town
At the ERKC’s day two show on Friday, June 14th, BIS
judge Peter Green gathered the Clumber Spaniel, GCH CH Clussexx Collaboration
with Traddles, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Doberman
Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon Arsenal, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Absolutely
Talk of the Town, the Japanese Chin, GCH CH Dunkirk Hop to It, the Standard
Poodle, GCH CH Del Zarzoso Salvame From Afterglow, and the Shetland Sheepdog,
CH Mistybrooks Panda Crossing.
His BIS was the handsome Poodle, Dino, and his RBIS was our
Dog2Watch, the Smooth Fox, Taylor. Dino
and Amy Rutherford now have five BIS in 11 final appearances.

The next two days belonged to the Pocatello Kennel Club who
chose Anne Hearn to choose a Best In Show and Reserve on day one. Her options were the above named Clumber, the
Harrier, GCH CH Downhome Hitech Innovator, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Kenro’s
Witching Hour, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Allaruth Just Kidding v Sole
Baye, the Pekingese, GCH CH Dunkirk Imagine That, the Bulldog, GCH CH Newcomb's
Pandemonium @ Beda, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH PaRay Preferential.

Taking home the top prize was the Harrier, Chet. Close behind was the Sheltie, Satoshi. Chet is the country’s Number Two Hound with
five BIS and 34 Hound Groups.

The day two final was in the hands of Houston Clark. His seven hopefuls were the Irish Water
Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop's Fire & Ice, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Quiet
Creek’s Kiss and Tell, the Standard Schnauzer, CH Chateau Palos Treaty of
Goarhein, the Smooth Fox, Taylor, the previously seen Peke, the Bichon Frise,
GCH CH PaRay Power & Privilege, and the Beauceron, GCH CH De Joie Du
Chateau Rocher.
Judge Clark went with the Bloodhound, Kissy, as his Best and
the Smooth Fox, Taylor, as his Reserve. Kissy
and handler Bruce Schultz have collected six all breed Bests and 22 Hound
Groups in 2013.

The crowd spent Monday caravanning the 375 miles to Billings
MT for three days with the Yellowstone Valley Kennel Club. Judge Murrel Purkhiser had the opener and a
powerhouse seven to choose her top two from, the aforementioned Clumber &
Bloodhound, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Highwoods Call Of The Wild, the Miniature
Bull Terrier, GCH CH Cambria’s Kin N Play, the Cavalier King Charles Spaniel,
GCH CH Miletree Northern Star At Shirmont, the previously seen Bulldog, and the
Border Collie, GCH CH Tang Dynasty Rocky.
The two she liked were the MiniBull, Kid, and the
Bloodhound, Kissy. Kid is the nation’s
Number One Miniature Bull Terrier, with four BIS and 14 Terrier Groups.

The next day Kid and the aforementioned Border Collie were
joined in judge Cindy Vogel’s final by the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Trance
Mission JP Cunard Adventure, the Harrier, Chet, the Standard Schnauzer, GCH CH Vikingus
Caesar Eytukan, the Pug, GCH CH Winsome-Nirvana-Blaque Triple Play, and the
Chow Chow, CH Padows Too Hot To Handle. She
would go with the Border Collie, and Kid, as her BIS and RBIS.
On Thursday judge Nancy Popovich would also choose Rocky as
her Best and give the previously mentioned Rottweiler as her Reserve. Rounding out the seven were the Clumber, Seymour,
the Bloodhound, Kissy, the MiniBull, Kid, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin
Tarheel, and the now familiar Chow.
These were the first BIS for the two year old Rocky. Congratulations to breeder/owner Tang Nan,
owner Henry Su, and handler Clint
Livingston.
The fun continued the next day 250 miles away in Great Falls
MT with the Electric City Kennel Club.
Paula Hartinger had the set’s first final and her pick of the Clumber,
Seymour, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Polo’s Air Force One, the returning Doberman,
Gunner, the Smooth Fox, Taylor, the Maltese, CH Rhapsody Someone Like You, the above
named Bulldog, Panda, and the Border Collie, Rocky. Best went to the Smooth Fox, Taylor, Reserve
to the Bulldog, Panda. Our Dog2Watch Taylor
and handler Eddie Boyes have gathered seven BIS in the past 90 days.
