MEMORIAL DAY, JERSEY STYLE

When we lived in Brooklyn NY, Memorial Day weekends were spent in New Jersey with the Monmouth County Kennel Club.  These days the weekend has evolved into the four day Atlantic Shore Memorial Classic.  The lineup this year included the Staten Island Kennel Club, the Monmouth County Kennel Club, the Plainfield Kennel Club, and the Union County Kennel Club.   We told you that the Black Cocker Spaniel, GCH CH Dawnglo Knight Rider, at the SIKC’s opener onFriday.  Here’s a look at the remaining three shows.

GCH CH Kan Sings Tenzin

Saturday’s MCKC Best In Show carried the most points and it was hotly contested by the Irish Setter, GCH CH Cairncross Concierge With Tullane, the American Foxhound, GCH CH Kiarry’s Pandora’s Box, the Samoyed, GCH CH McMagics Candy Ham Of Pebbles’Run, the Wire Fox Terrier, GCH CH Crispy Legacy, the Pug, GCH CH Riversongs Doc Holiday, the Tibetan Spaniel, GCH CH Kan Sings Tenzin, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Pine Hills Payday Of Hayshill.

Walter Pinsker’s BIS was the GSD, Solo, and his RBIS, the Tibbie, Tenzin.  It’s the first for Solo this year in seven final appearances.

Up next was the PKC who put Carlos Quinones in the final ring with the aforementioned Black Cocker, Foxhound, Sammie, & Wire Fox, the Toy Poodle, GCH CH Smash Jp Sakura, the French Bulldog, Diva's Bastille My Heart, and the GSD, solo.  Judge Quinones would go with the Wire, Sparky, and the Toy Poodle, Sakura as his Best and Reserve.  The Swedish born Wire now has seven BIS and 11 Terrier Groups.

Malcom Moore had the closer for the Union County Kennel Club on Monday.  The seven that stayed to the end were the Black Cocker, Kitt, the Afghan Hound, GCH CH Exlysta Aries Ciel Noir, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist's Quicksilver Speigas, the Airedale Terrier, GCH CH Joval Angel’s Wispa, the Toy Poodle, Sakura, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Mikamoto, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Mercury's Scene Stealer.

Taking home the last big rosette of the stop was the Poodle, Sakura, while the Cocker, Kitt collected a Reserve ribbon to go with his early BIS.
