While we wait for today’s show results we will give you the last of the past week’s results. First from Grand Junction CO we have a report of the Grand Valley Kennel Club’s four shows.
On Thursday Jon Cole had command of the day one final. His seven hopefuls were the Weimaraner, GCH CH Silhouette’s LifeInTheFastLane, the Pharaoh Hound, GCH CH Northgate’s As You Like It, the Mastiff, GCH CH Jadem’s Oliver Twist, the Welsh Terrier, CH Shaireab’s Bayleigh Look At Me, the Affenpinscher, GCH CH Tamarin Top Banana, the Bulldog, GCH CH Itsa Brix, and the Shetland Sheepdog, Karosel Kartwheels.
AKC’s tallest judge chose AKC‘ winningest Pharaoh Hound ever as his Best. Qing & handler Brian Livingston now have 27 BIS & an amazing 93 Hound Groups this year.
Friday James White would see Qing, the above named Weimaraner, Mastiff, Affenpinscher, & Bulldog along with the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Sunlyn Soon to be Famous, & the Australian Cattle Dog, GCH CH Carben Copy If The Shoe Fits. BIS went to the Weimaraner, Jimmy. The Number One Weimaraner in the US and handler Keith Pautz now have six all breed Bests & 38 Sporting Groups.
Saturday some of the finalists from the prior two days headed for other venues giving Mary Lou Kniola a look at some new faces, including the Weimaraner, GCH CH Win'Weim's It's My Grey Goose, the Saluki, GCH CH Blue Nile Vanilla Ice, the aforementioned Mastiff, the Miniature Schnauzer, GCH CH Belgar’s Desert Sand, the previously named Affenpinscher, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Sunclipse Mystique, and the Australian Cattle Dog from the prior day’s final.
Her choice was the Weimaraner, Goose. Goose is the nation’s Number Three Weimaraner with four BIS & 12 Sporting Group top prizes.
Jane Forsyth would close the set with prior finalists the Mastiff, Affenpinscher, & Bulldog, the Irish setter, GCH CH Tramore Galewinns Mak’n an Impact, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Heather’s A Little Night Music, the West Highland White Terrier, GCH CH Deerhaven An heir About Him, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Me and My Shadow of Cornus.
Taking home the final big rosette of the weekend was the Irish Setter, Pierce. This is the first Best In Show for the four year old. Congratulations to breeders/owners Ginny Swanson & Pam Gale and co-breeder Debbie Tissot.
