Exhibitors in the Heartland were in Des Moines IA for the Heart of Iowa Kennel Club’s weekend.  Day one ended with judge Norm Patton in the final ring with the Spinoni Italiano CH Bela’s This Time Its Hudson, the Whippet, GCH CH Kamada’s New York Minute, the Boxer, GCH CH Cinrhee’s V Card Stud at Heartacre, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Buchanan Focus Cat Ballou, the Chinese Crested, GCH CH Déjàvu I Want’A Talk About Me, the Standard Poodle, CH Safari’s This Side of Paradise, and the Shetland Sheepdog, GCH CH Grandgables The Frat Boy.

Best went to the Crested, Toby, Reserve to the Smooth Fox, Doodle.  Toby was 2013’s Number One Chinese Crested with two BIS and ten Toy Groups.  Congratulations to breeders  Karla Matlock, Ann Freeman, & Sharon Jacobson, owners Roy & Jo-Ann Kusumoto, and handler Daryl Martin.

Sunday Doodle and the Sheltie, Brother would return to try their luck with judge Clay Coady.  Joining them were the Flat Coated Retriever, GCH CH Beacons Jesse James II, the Bloodhound, GCH CH Citation’s First and Foremost, the Giant Schnauzer, GCH CH Nightline Viking at Tanglewood, the Brussels Griffon, CH Fist Face A Penny For Your Thought, and the Chinese Shar-Pei, CH Nustar’s Dolly Pardon Me Boys I’m Here.

Terrier specialist Clay Coady would go with the Smooth Fox, Doodle, as his BIS and the Giant, , as his RBIS.  It was the first BIS for 13 month old Doodle, who was the breed winner at last year’s super competitive Devon Kennel Club show at just nine months old.  Congratulations to breeder Donna L Knipes, owner/handler Taylor Shwartz, and owner Emily Barker.
