Let’s check in with the Pacific Northwest where some of our
biggest numbers have been the last two weeks.
A week ago in Mt Vernon WA the Bell Vernon Kennel Association hosted two
shows and the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Brighton Lakeridge Encore, made the most
of the close to home venue, taking both of the BIS offered.
On Saturday Ally and handler Tim Brazier impressed judge
Kent Delaney more than did the Irish Water Spaniel, GCH CH Whistlestop's Fire
& Ice, who impressed him more than did his remaining five finalists, the Smooth
Dachshund, GCH CH Spellbound's You Go First, the Newfoundland, CH Susitna's
Deal Me In, the West Highland White Terrier, CH Camcrest Andsurely Jasmine, the
Pug, CH Moonstruck's Smooth Sailing, and the Belgian Tervuren, CH Blackfyres Wyld
Kazmanian Devil CD.
At Sunday’s closer Lou Guerrero liked Ally more than he did
his Reserve, the Brittany, GCH CH Sanbar’s Ride The Winds, an Afghan Hound from
the classes, Kaimar’s The Truth Will Set You Free, the same Newfoundland, the
Parson Russell Terrier, GCH CH Shasta N Sonship It’s A Skip, the Cavalier King
Charles Spaniel, GCH CH Full Of Malarky Miles Of Aisles, and an Australian
Shepherd from the Bred By Exhibitor class, Polaris Goldcrest Notorious B.I.G.
Ally is the Number One Standard Poodle, the Number One
Non-Sporting Dog, and the Number Ten Dog All Breeds with 12 BIS this year.
Meanwhile down in Redmond OR, AKC’s Number Three Dog All
Breeds, the Miniature Pinscher, GCH CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, was enjoying
her west coast visit, snapping up all three big rosettes offered by the Mount
Bachelor Kennel Club.
GCH CH Flying Ford
I'll Lasso The Moon For Ya
On Friday Classie and the Boston Terrier, GCH CH Flying Ford I'll Lasso The Moon For Ya, finished one/two under judge Christie Smith. We suppose she might have chosen the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Hil-N-Don & Canyonwood Seemore Of Me, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Siberian Husky, Kaniska' Kauz For Komotion at Talkeetna, the above named Parson Russell Terrier, or the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Woodstock’s Belle Star, but she didn’t.
GCH CH Woodstock’s Belle Star
Charlotte Patterson had Saturday’s final and she chose
Classie as her Best and the returning Australian Shepherd, Belle, as her
Reserve. Also on hand were the same Springer, Saluki,
the Doberman Pinscher, GCH CH Tiburon’s Arsenal, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH
Absolutely Talk of the Town, and the Dalmatian, CH Alfredrich Indigo Dark Roast
of Robbsdale.
CH Absolutely Talk of the Town
At Sunday’s closer judge Terry Stacy pulled Classie and the
aforementioned Smooth Fox, Taylor, for his top awards. Joining them were the German Wirehaired
Pointer, GCH C H Mountain View National Acclaim, the now familiar Saluki,
Doberman, & Australian Shepherd, and the Dalmatian, Merry Go Round Express. The three wins would bring Classie’s 2013
take to 33 BIS in 61 final appearances.
GCH CH Alpine’s Ring of Fire CGC
This past weekend, Classie would head back to the east coast
and Oregon fanciers would move to Bandon OR for the Coos Kennel Club’s two
offerings. Mike Macbeth had the day one
final and assembled the Sussex Spaniel, GCH CH Chatapa Jason And The Argonauts,
the Whippet, GCH CH Cottonwood Versace at Coreymore, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Highwood
Call of The Wild, the American Staffordshire Terrier, GCH CH Alpine’s Ring of
Fire CGC, the Silky Terrier, GCH CH Tawny Mist Myan Mystic, the Keeshond, GCH
CH Jen’ndi’s Lyrical Dreams For Jo-Lyn, and the Border Collie, Lacey Cashel Ewe
Green Eyed Monster Ewe.
GCH CH Chatapa Jason And The Argonauts
It was the AmStaff, Phoenix, taking the BIS and the Sussex, Jason,
with the RBIS. It was Phoenix’s second
BIS of the year. Both have come in the
last six weeks.
GCH CH Penndragon Owain
Phoenix and the above named Whippet were back on Sunday for
judge Charles Trotter’s final along with the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH
Hil-N-Don & Canyonwood Seemore of Me, the Newfoundland, GCH CH Linkville’s
What About Me, the Pomeranian, GCH CH AC Dynasty Dream Works, the Standard
Poodle, GCH CH Penndragon Owain, and the Puli, GCH CH Mt Hood Leapin Linni Of
Tordor. This time Phoenix would get the
RBIS. The BIS would go to the Poodle,
Owain. The white Standard Poodle has two
BIS in 19 visits to the final ring this year.
