It’s Monday Morning Mop Up time and we will start with another club that practices that secret catalog thing.  You know, withholding the on line catalog in the hopes you might sell another $50 worth of printed catalogs, even though it’s gonna cost you $500 in next year’s entries.

The Virginia Kennel Club passed the weekend in Richmond VA and the weekend belonged to the Boxer, GCH CH Winfall Brookwood Styled Dream, who swept both of the VKC’s shows On Saturday Scarlett was joined by the English Cocker Spaniel, CH Brasswinds Roadracer At Warwick, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Wheatridge’s Pecan Sandie, the Welsh Terrier, GCH CH Bayleigh Shaireab’s Passion, the Pug, GCH CH Kenshei And That’s The Way It Is, the Bichon Frise, CH Vogelflight’s Taywyn Tarragon, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Brookridge Pop Secret.

Sunday Scarlett and handler Diego Ferrnando Garcia bested the ASCOB Cocker Spaniel, CH Kaplar's I Got Rythym, the 15” Beagle, CH Lochnow Something Good, the Sealyham Terrier, GCH CH Efbe’s Goodspice Easy Money, the above named Pug, the Dalmatian, Troika Nspird Magical Thinking, and the Border Collie,
Hamilton’s Drummer Boy.

Scarlett, the nation’s Number Four Dog All Breeds, now has 71 career BIS, 17 of which have come this year.

  1. I wish they would put up the rest of the results. This hiding the catalog is crazy!

  3. Attended these shows, refuse to buy a catalog when clubs have this policy. Short drive but will not enter again, can't support what you so accurately describe as "that secret catalog thing."

  4. Billy I agree with you about the catalogs. As a marketing specialist I have given a past club many ideals on how to increase catalog sales but they still selected this method, because the others required to much work. MBF offers a nice feature with real time results, surprise clubs don't utilize this functionality. They should list real times results in their premium as an asset over the other superintendents. I am excited when I find out my special is being shown at a MBF show.

  5. I agree with you... I think this is cheesy. I like to check results on Saturday because its so much easier to get them corrected the next day while the judges are still there if needed. And if you think no one knows where the rest of the specials are or who is at what show... unless ALL shows hide the catalog, it doesnt take a rocket scientist to figure it out, now does it. Its too bad that Virginia seems to lead the way with this bad practice.

  6. Scarlett tied the record for BIS boxer bitches on Saturday and broke the record on Sunday.

  7. Don't tar all Virginia shows with this brush! These are Virginia Kennel Club and Virginia Terrier Club, but most of the clubs in Virginia dislike this as much as you do! If they are not selling enough catalogs, the simple answer is to not order so many next year! MBF is to be commenended for providing the results to us so quickly, and that is one of the reasons my club continues to hire MBF.
