Terrier devotees headed to Grayslake Il this weekend where the Great Lakes All Terrier Association mini-Montgomery was sandwiched in between Friday’s Little Fort Kennel Club Of Waukegan and Sunday’s
Chain O'lakes Kennel Club all breed events. Friday’s BIS judge was Ken Murray and his super seven were the German Shorthaired Pointer, CH Robin Crest Spectacular Bid JH, the Saluki, CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles Of Jatara, the Samoyed, CH Rexanne’s Excalibur, the Norwich Terrier, CH Abbedale Take Two At Taliesan, the Pekingese, CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Schipperke, CH Talawandas Makers Mark, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Limerick’s Shakespeare. It was the country’s Number Three Dog All Breeds, the Peke, Malachy, taking home BIS number 19 for the year.
At Saturday’s all Terrier tussle Melinda Lyon chose the Irish Terrier, CH Fleet St Fenway Fan as her Group One. Rounding out her placements were the Norwich Terrier, CH Abbedale Take Two At Taliesan, the Welsh Terrier, CH Marydale’s Limited Edition, and the Scottish Terrier, CH Amstaam Wild West. So where were the non-Terriers on Saturday? Well, David Fitzpatrick & Malachy were in Fort Dodge IA picking up the hometown Club’s BIS from Dr Ronert Smith. Also on hand were the Pointer, CH Solivia’s A Walk In The Clouds, the Afghan Hound, CH Majic Whatever I Want, the Siberian Husky, CH Topaz T.R.O.U.B.L.E., the Miniature Schnauzer, Suelen Frosty Gusty V Amore, the Miniature Poodle, CH Amisty Mystical Horizons Heaven Sent, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Clemwoods Nobel Laureate.
Sunday, The Peke and the Irish Terrier would be the only repeaters back to see Clay Coady. The newcomers were the Vizsla, CH Sir Winston Of Sienna Pointe, the Longhaired Dachshund, CH Homar’s Solo Aviator SL, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Cetera’s Fun Fast N World Class, the Boston Terrier, Ch Ammalee Told Ya So, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH StarPon’s Mustang Sally Rae. He also liked the Irish Terrier, Fynn. It's his third this year. Suddenly, the race for the Number One Dog in America is looking very interesting.
CH Solivia’s A Walk In The Clouds
Sunday’s Fort Dodge show featured the Mrs Robert D (Polly) Smith and the previously mentioned Pointer and Bouvier, the Norwegian Elkhound, CH Aspens Power Play, the Boxer, CH Mahoganys Its About Time, the Parson Russell Terrier, CH Thunder Hill Soul Journey, the Papillon, CH Forevr Errol Flynn, and the Bichon Frise, CH Bibelots Purple Heart O'Mine. She chose the Pointer, Airy. It’s the second this year for Airy and handler Greg Myers, with both wins coming in the last month.
