VENTURA FINALISTS, FINALLY

It may be stale news, but it was an important show with one of the year’s largest entries. We are talking about last Saturday’s Santa Maria Kennel Club show in Ventura CA. We did tell you that the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot took home the BIS and the 2500 points for dogs defeated, but for some unknown reason Jack Bradshaw Dog Show Superintendents and the AKC kept the results secret until today.

CH Thaon`s Mowgli

At a show where group placements were worth as much as BIS at many of the all breed shows elsewhere this past weekend, we think it’s important to recognize the following Group One winners: the Golden Retriever, Gala Of Yoshida Enterprise, the Afghan Hound, CH Thaon`s Mowgli, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Aviator`s Luck Be A Lady, the Brussels Griffon, CH Cashin`s Walk The Line, the Standard Poodle, CH Monfort Ariel Arietta, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepnlady Webber.

We are unabashed fans of the big BIS winners, especially our current national leader. After all, we do own a Scottie, but we don’t want anyone to lose sight of the fact that every BIS final (and the majority of group judgings) are packed with quality AKC dogs. Congratulations to all the Santa Maria KC BIS finalists.
