HAWAIIAN RESULTS

We’ve been remiss here in not telling you about past show results from our 50th state. The Windward Hawaiian Dog Fanciers Association held two shows in the Honolulu neighborhood of Kaneohe.

CH Xeralane’s Face The Future

Raymond V Filburn Jr’s final on Saturday included the Golden Retriever, CH Lalique All In With Aces, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, Pupukea Ridge Kaulanaikamakua, the Boxer, CH Jem’s Jamming At Koawood, the Norwich Terrier, CH Loxwood’s Black Tide, the Shih Tzu, CH Xeralane’s Face The Future, the Lhasa Apso, CH Desiderata Il Paradiso, and the German Shepherd Dog, RicherslutsLaila Ali. Fittingly the BIS in Paradise went to the Lhasa, Il Paradiso, bred by Arlene Miller, who co-owns with Kathy Bogatin. Congratulations to them both.

Sunday, the Norwich, the Shih Tzu, and the Lhasa would all be back for a second attempt at a BIS, this one with judge Gary Doerge. Alos asking for consideration were the Golden Retirever, CH Lalique’s She’s A Hottoe, the Longhaired Dachshund, CH Xeralane’s Supersize, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Fantasy Island’s Inspiration, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Miqelon Mosaic.

It was the Shih Tzu, Future, picking up the BIS. Congratulations to breeder/owner Xerajane Kennels, co-owner Lauren Jacklin and handler Adrian Agard, If you haven’t visited the Xeralane Kennels web site, do so. Very impressive.

BEAUTIFUL BURBANK

While most of the US is experiencing the colors of fall, out in California it is perennial summer. The Burbank Kennel Club set up this weekend in Van Nuys CA, one of the many neighborhoods that make up greater Los Angeles.

We told you that the newly arrived British import, the Lakeland Terrier, Saredon For Your Eyes Only, was Dr Roger Pritchard’s BIS on Saturday. Now we can tell you that Ginger and handler Jenny Wornall were accompanied by finalists, the Weimaraner, CH Smokycity Silhouette Dbl Ur Pleasure, the 13” Beagle, CH Jabrwoki’s Le Jazz Hot, the Akita, CH Minda Fujisvs Violets Are Blue, the Havanese, CH Bellatak My Funny Valentine, the Schipperke, CH Schip-By-Me Butch Cassidy, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Avalon Frontier Sleepnlady Webber.

CH Smokycity Silhouette Dbl Ur Pleasure

Sunday the Weimaraner, the Akita, and the Schipperke were all back for a second shot with Davod Kirkland. The new four were the Afghan Hound, CH Khandu Olympia, the Manchester Terrier, CH Oasis Hi Jack The Show, the Brussels Griffon, CH Cashin’s Walk The Line, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Lov’N;Stuff Mak’N a Difference. It was better the second time around for the country’s number one Weimaraner, Wrigley, who got her third all breed BIS this year.

NEVADA & WASHINGTON SHOWS

CH Legacy Empress Of The Copa

Carson City NV was the site for this weekend’s Bonanza Kennel Club Of Carson City’s two shows. Saturday saw Kathleen M. Grosso in the final ring with the English Springer Spaniel, CH Tara’s Master Of ‘D’ Game, the Harrier, CH Jackpot Kingsbury Beamer, the Rottweiler, CH Chancellor’s Gorgeous Patrone, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Warfox Double Exposure, the Maltese, CH Delcost Marc By Design, the Bulldog, CH Legacy Empress Of The Copa, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Sea Haven Legally Blonde. The Bulldog, Emmy, rolled right into her second BIS of the year, both collected this month.

CH Aviator’s Luck Be A Lady

Emmy was the only one of Saturday’s finalists to return to see Jeanne D. Zuver on Sunday. The six new supplicants were the English Setter, CH Kelyric Blues Traveler JH RN, the Harrier, CH Hartshire Walkabout, (That’s right two different Harriers going Group One on the same weekend in the same location.), the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Aviator’s Luck Be A Lady, the Border Terrier, CH Banner's Rory At Ranthorn, the Japanese Chin, CH Victory Viceroy Of Kirin, and the Beauceron, CH Arco Du Chateau Rocher Pt. It was the PWD, Lady Bug, receiving her second BIS this month for a total of four this year.

CH Brighton Lakeridge Summer In Hamptons

As we told you the Irish Water Spaniel, CH Poole’s Ide Got Water took Back2Back BIS out in Kennewick WA at the Richland Kennel Club’s two shows. We still owe you the names of Sunday’s other six finalists. They were the Saluki, CH Shadaglen Thunder Mtn Fidler. The Akita, CH Mojo's Rock'n Your World, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Frenchpark Moon Of Wintertime JE, the Toy Fox Terrier, CH Valcopy Kasey Kahne, the Standard Poodle, CH Brighton Lakeridge Summer In Hamptons, and the Puli, CH Lajosmegyi Singin' In The Rain.

TEXAS & COLORADO SHOWS

CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune

Deep in the heart of Texas, Lubbock, that is, there were shows from the Heart Of The Plains Kennel Club. We told you about Saturday’s show already. Sunday’s BIS judge was Dr Steve Keating and his finalists were the Vizsla, CH Renaissance Girls Gone Wild, the Rhodesian Ridgeback, CH Tji-Wara's Distant Drums, Saturday’s BIS winner, the Boxer, CH Bravo N Sunset Stealing Time, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, the Maltese, CH Rhapsody's Too Many Remarks, the Miniature Poodle, CH Alegria Shamus, the Rough Collie, CH Gentry's Braveheart.

BIS went to the nation’s number three Terrier, the Lakeland, Ranger. Ranger is currently the country’s number 15 dog all breeds. Has anyone noticed that the US’s top three Terrier all have won a BIS this weekend as a warm up for this coming weekends all Terrier Super Bowl, Montgomery County?

CH Goldentrip Snow Dream

Continuing to the west, we head to Gran Junction CO and the Grand Valley Kennel Club. Saturday, Kenneth Buxton collected the Golden Retriever, CH Goldentrip Snow Dream, the Whippet, Amberwind Nassau Indigo Moon FCH JC, the Samoyed, CH T-Snow Star’s Journe Of The Heart, the Irish Terrier, CH X-Tra Special Kalaney Girl, the Pekingese, CH Dunkirk’s I’m Gonna Live Forever, the French Bulldog, Dejavo It’s Al About Me, and the Australian Cattle Dog, CH Briarbrooks All Wound Up. Bis went to the Golden, Sarah, her second this year.

Sunday’s Best In Show was judged by Dr Robert Smith who had the pleasure of the company of the Golden Retriever, CH Sonora’s Havin’ A Good Time, Longhaired Dachshund, CH Xerlane‘s Supersonic, Sarturday finalist, the Sammie, the Welsh Terrier, CH Cambrian Four Star General, the abovementioned Peke, the Schipperke, CH Bonchien Mr. Monopoly, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH Bugaboo’s Georgie Girl. It was a big day for the ring’s smallest dog, as the Peke collected his second BIS of the year.

CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice

Guy Spagnolo’s final included the Irish Setter, CH Jewelset Second Attraction, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Daybreak's Garden Party W, the Samoyed, CH Stolichnaya, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH J’Cobe Kemosabe Vigilante Justice, the Shih Tzu, CH Xeralane's Face The Music, the Miniature Poodle, CH Splash Di Caprio, and the Australian Cattle Dog, CH Kurpas' Promise Land.

It was the nation’s number two Terrier, the Smooth Fox, Dodger, who walked away with the BIS. Along the way he had to take the Terrier Group over the nation’s number one dog, the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot.

Moving on to Freeport IL where the Rockford-Freeport Illinois Kennel Club held two shows. On Saturday judge George Vukich saw the Spinoni Iltaliano, CH Sharpshot Aris, the Wirehaired Dachshund, CH Rosethorn Unique Answer, the Samoyed, CH Polar Mist X-Tasy, the Smooth Fox Terrier, CH Flair-Rill Versace, the Pekingese, CH Briar-Mar Fan The Fire, the Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Spitfire, and the Bouvier des Flandres, CH Limerick’s Shakespeare.

His BIS was the Dachshund, her first this year. Congratulations to breeder/owner Sheila D Parish and handler Debbie Melgreen.

Sunday, only the Dachshund and Standard poodle would make it back to see Eugene Blake who alos saw the Black Cocker Spaniel, CH EXL’s Leather N Lace, the Bull Mastiff, CH True rit Muscle Mayhem, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Kaylynn’s Strollin In The Park, the Cavalier King Charles Spanie, CH Mondrian VH Lamslag, and the Old English Sheepdog, CH lambluv’s Daydream Believer. BIS went to the big black Poodle, Spitfire, her ninth this year.

SOUTHEAST REGION RESULTS

Moving down to the Southeast Region, we have two show locations to report on. In Millwood VA, there were three shows. Check our earlier posts for the results on Saturday’s and Sunday’s Warrenton Kennel Club shows.

CH Kiarry’s Walk This Way

Sunday’s Old Dominion Kennel Club’s BIS was judged by Alfred Ferruggiaro who chose from the German Wirehaired Pointer, CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout, Friday’s BIS winer, the American Foxhound, CH Kiarry’s Walk This Way, the Great Pyrenees, CH Rivergrove Ttrump This, the American Staffordshire Terrier, CH Wonderland’s Heavily Armed Agitator, the Toy Poodle, CH Smash Jp Moon Walk, the French Bulldog, CH Diva’s Foregin Affair, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Tim Tam Avant Garde.

It was the rare breed poster boy Foxhound winning his second BIS of the weekend. Attention you out there who want another reason to fight anti breeder legislation, this is the breed that is the face of American dog breeders. Ask your elected officials if they want to participate in its extinction.

Elsewhere in the Southeast, there were two shows in Deland Florida. Again look to our previous articles for Saturday’s results. Sundaythe BIS judge for the West Volusia Kennel Club was Dr Harry Smith. His final seven were the Labrador Retriever, CH Salty Dog of Tampa Bay, Saturday’s BIS winner, the AFghan Hound, CH Genesis Silverado, the Boxer, CH Sabo’s Majestic Provocation, the Skye Terrier, CH Cragsmoor Buddy Goodman, a Cavalier King Charles Spaniel from the classes, Lastars Phoenix In Flight, the Standard Poodle, CH Chrystal's Totally Chromed Out, and the Puli, CH Cordmaker Field Of Dreams.

BIS went to the country’s number three dog all breeds, the Puli, Conrad. We have more reports coming.

MONDAY MOP UP

It’s time for Monday Mop Up. We will bounce around a bit so pay attention. Our first stop is in Topsham ME where the Lewiston-Auburn Kennel Club held a pair of shows this weekend. We did give you the BIS winners for those shows. Here’s the rest of the story.

CH Foxcliffe Hickory Wind

We don't have all the details, but we can tell you about these four dogs. In Romulus NY Saturday it was the country’s number one Scottish Deerhound, CH Foxcliffe Hickory Wind, who went BIS Saturday at the Finger Lakes Kennel Club. Bravo to breeders/owners Cecilia L Dove & Dr R Scott Dove, and handler Angel Lloyd.

CH Poole’s Ide Got Water

It’s Back2Back BIS wins for the Irish Water Spaniel, CH Poole’s Ide Got Water, at the Richland Kennel Club Saturday & Sunday shows in Kennewick WA. Congrats again to Keegan’s breeders G H Siner & D Patterson, and owners Stacy Duncan, Colleen McDaniel & Greg Siner. Stacy does the handling.

CH Tamaron's Leonidas

Saturday in was the Boxer, CH Tamaron's Leonidas, getting his first BIS of 2009 on day one of the Lewiston-auburn Kennel Club in Topsham ME . Leo was bred by Vi Campos & Joy Iannaconi , who co-owns Leo with Vanja Milic. Leo is handled by Carmen N Skinner. Congratulations to them all.

CH Sportingfield Be Noble

Day two in Topsham ME went to another first timer, the Border Collie, CH Sportingfield Be Noble. Congratulations to owner/handler Juli Lacey-Black, breeder/co-owner Dionne Butt , & co-owner Cynthia Geiss.

ALL GOLDEN IN HOT SPRINGS

They had a hot time in Hot Springs AR this weekend. Today’s BIS judge at the Hot Springs National Park Kennel Club was Robert Shreve.

CH Toasty’s Treasure Island

His seven left standing were the Golden Retriever, CH Toasty’s Treasure Island, the Petit Baset Griffon Vendee, CH Rokeena Carte Blanche, the Great Dane, CH Warwick’s Dark Vader V Dmania, the Norwich CH Skysot’s Poker Chip, the Shih Tzu, CH Symarun’s Look N Good, the French Bulldog, and the Rough Collie, CH Sylvan Simply Irresistible.

BIS went to the US’ number one Sporting Dog, the Golden, Treasure. Treasure is currently the nation’s number four dog all breeds.

WHIPPET WINS WESTBURY

They wrapped up the weekend in Oyster Bay NY with the Westbury Kennel Association in charge.

BIS judge Elaine Young saw repeat finalists the Bernese Mountain Dog, CH CH Bluemoon Tazenite V Blackrock CD, the Bedlington Terrier, CH Velvety Angel Eyes, the Affenpinscher, CH Velvet Dandy Dipsy, and the Bearded Collie, CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins along with the English Springer Spaniel, CH Cerise Mint Julep, the Whippet, CH Sporting Field’s Bahama Sands, and the Tibetan Spaniel, CH Timbroke’s Crime Of The Century.

BIS went to the Whippet, Tawny, who continues to lead her breed in the number of all breed BIS and Hound Group wins. We love it when a Whippet’s out front. Just seems natural.
