Our friends from the Midwest have checked in with the results from this weekend’s Illinois shows.

Saturday the Blackhawk Kennel Club was in Amboy with Kent Delaney in the final ring. His seven were the Irish Setter, CH Vineyard’s Bad Boy, the Basset Hound, CH Topsfield-Sanch American Express, the Doberman Pinscher, CH Francesca’s Bewitched, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Cornerstone Soliloquy, the Blenheim & Prince Charles English Toy Spaniel, CH Royalist Ready To Reign, the Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Spitfire, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, CH Sasquehanna Malinnik Ponadto.

His BIS was the Staffordshire, Piper, the only Staffordshire Bull Terrier to win a BIS this year.

CH Sno Klassic Play The Game

On Sunday, the crown moved to De Kalb for the Greater De Kalb Kennel Club’s two day stand. Piper was back Sunday in Richard Lashbrook’s final as were the Irish Setter and the Standard Poodle. Also asking for consideration were the Irish Wolfhound, CH Highgate’s Andrew Of The Ridge, the Alaskan Malamute, CH Sno Klassic Play The Game, the Yorkshire Terrier, CH Gloveshire’s Allure, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, CH Bleazak’s Blue Nude.

BIS went to the Malamute, Player, making him the highest scoring Malamute in AKC conformation.

CH Dawin Spitfire

Yesterday, Jay Richardson closed the weekend with prior finalists, the Basset, the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, and the Standard Poodle. Making their first appearance of the weekend were the Chesapeake Bay Retriever, CH Sandbar’s Stock Exchange, the Newfoundland, CH Paladin’s Thomas Jefferson, the Norfolk Terrier, CH Max-Well’s Viper, and the Smooth Coat Chihuahua, CH Galway’s Dark Eyes.

Taking home the remaining big rosette was the big Poodle, Spitfire, her fifth this year. She is one of the six Standard Poodles to win a BIS this year. We were lucky enough to see Spitfire earlier this year. We highly recommend the experience.

ANOTHER 6,OOO POINT WEEKEND

OK, we've waited all day for AKC to publish all the Ventura results, but we think we need to give you what we have. First of all, the headline...the Scottish Terrier, CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot, the nation’s number one dog all breeds, swept all three shows in Ventura CA, Friday’s Channel City Kennel Club, Saturday’s Santa Maria Kennel Club, and Sunday’s Ventura County Dog Fanciers Association .

CH Roundtown Mercedes Of Maryscot

We previously gave you all results from Friday’s event, but unfortunately we do not have the complete results from Saturday’s show. We can tell you Sunday Sadie was accompanied in Roger Hartinger’s BIS ring by the Golden Retriever, CH Dalane Doizaki Buckingham's Pride, the Basset Hound, CH Splash's The Professor, the Mastiff, CH Southports Ulysses S Grant, the Brussels Griffon, CH Cashin's Walk The Line, the Tibetan Terrier, CH Players Protocol, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, Segni At Coventry.

It was the second 6,000 point weekend in a row for Sadie. Whew! We’re tired just watching.

TEXAS AND OREGON

Deep in the heart of Texas, dog show enthusiasts were in Dallas for three days. We have given you most of those results, but we missed these two Sunday finalists, the Lakeland Terrier, CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune, and the Pekingese, CH Franshaw Hear Me Roar.

CH Hi-Kel Terrydale Soldier Of Fortune

One site we have not visited this weekend is Bandon OR where the Coos Kennel Club hosted a pair of shows.
