LIKE FATHER, LIKE SON

GCH CH  Classical's My Turn CGC CGN HIC

After seven seasons of covering the AKC conformation show scene here on Dog Show Poop, one of the most gratifying things is seeing the off spring of prior years’ competitors in the ring.  As much as we love the competition, the real proof of a dog’s greatness is his/her ability to pass along it’s greatness.  So we are pleased to report that the Bearded Collie, GCH CH  Classical's My Turn CGC CGN HIC, the son of GCH CH Tolkien Raintree Mister Baggins, the winningest Bearded Collie in AKC history, picked up his first Best In Show at yesterday’s Kennel Club Of Niagara Falls show in Hamburg NY.

CH Dawin Wildrose Raisin’ the Stakes

Joining Turner and handler Cliff Steele in judge Jim Martin’s final were the German Shorthaired Pointer, GCH CH Skypoint’s Our River Runs Free, the Treeing Walker Coonhound, GCH CCH Alexanders Gold Rush Xcetera, the Siberian Husky, GCH CH Snowmist’s Quicksilver Speigas, the Staffordshire Bull Terrier, CH Sheaman’s Son Of A Irishman, the Pug, the RBIS, and the Standard Poodle, CH Dawin Wildrose Raisin’ the Stakes.

It was the first BIS for Turner, who  becomes the fourth of Roy’s offspring to win an AKC BIS.  Congratulations to Cliff, breeders/owners Julie Kempster & Bea Sawka, and owner Wendy Marciant.

  1. I might mention that "Turner" was Canada's Top beardie in 2013 after just 2 weekends of showing, picking up a large Best In Show under Dr. Robert Indeglia. Turner is the grandson of Harrison, Canada's top dog all breeds in 1997! Julie Kempster, Turner and Harrison's co-owner and breeder
