FROM THE MOUNTAIN TIME ZONE

GCH CH Cottonwood Versace at Coreymore

Last weekend Rocky Mountain exhibitors had an unheard of choice of two shows in that time zone.  Some opted for the Durango Kennel Club’s three shows in Cortez CO.  The first seven dogs to make it to the final ring were the Vizsla, GCH CH Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea JH, the Whippet, GCH CH Cottonwood Versace at Coreymore, the Great Dane, CH Lobato's Caught Red Handed, the Welsh Terrier, CH Malvado Devil Woman, the Pug, CH Bookmark's Uncommonly Good, the Lhasa Apso, GCH CH Sundancer Hylan Shotru Secret Dawn, and the Cardigan Welsh Corgi, GCH CH Aubrey’s Tails of Mystery.

James White’s Best In Show was the Whippet, Gianni, and his Reserve Best In Show was the Cardigan, Libby.  Both of Gianni’s BIS this year have come this month.

GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara

Saturday’s final belonged to judge Keke Kahn.  She would choose her top two from the above named Vizsla, the Saluki, GCH CH Sandstorm Blue Nile Bubbles of Jatara, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Jazzland Rain On Quileute, the Scottish Terrier, CH Kingsview Just Ebony, the aforementioned Pug, the Chow Chow, GCH CH Dreamland's Wanna Be A Billionaire, and the Cardigan, Libby.

One again, the Cardigan Libby would get the RBIS and once again, BIS would go to a Hound Group winner, this time the Saluki, Bubbles.  Bubbles is AKC’s Number One Saluki with five BIS and 23 Hound Groups.  We look for Bubbles to be  closing fast on the three hounds in front of her in the rankings.

GCH CH Ventures Boys N Toys

Ken Buxton closed it with the Golden Retriever, GCH CH Ventures Boys N Toys, the Saluki, Bubbles, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Highwood's Call of The Wild, the Wire Fox Terrier, Gravitas MGK Bodacious Bugsy, the Miniature Pinscher, Marlex Kisa Wildfire, the now familiar Lhasa, and the Corgi, Libby.

Judge Buxton would go with the Golden, Tonka, as his Best and the Lhasa, Dawn, as his Reserve.   It’s the first for Tonka and handler Rebecca Heimann.  Congratulations to Rebecca, breeder/owner Tiffany McCray, and owner Amy Heuslein.

CH GCH Dunkirk Hop To It

Another option was Logan UT and the Mount Ogden Kennel Club’s two shows.  The seven finalists on opening day were the English Springer Spaniel, Cedarwood's Legendary Vision, the Greyhound, GCH CH Shylo The Party Spot, the Alaskan Malamute, GCH CH Jazzland Rain On Quileute, the Border Terrier, CH Full Throttle's Bis-cuit Eater!, the Japanese Chin, CH GCH Dunkirk Hop To It, the Schipperke, CH Bonchien Park Place, and the Bearded Collie, CH Coloquhoun's Noble Wizard RN.
