The place to be in the Heartland this weekend for fanciers was St Joseph MO for the hometown kennel club’s two shows.  Saturday Betty Ann Stenmark lined up the English Springer Spaniel, GCH CH Wynmoor Champagne Supernova, the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu Eeenie Meenie Miney Moe, the Doberman Pinscher, MiraVia UR Time is Gonna Come, the Norwich Terrier, GCH CH Skyscots Texas Hold’Em, the Shih Tzu, GCH CH Symarun's Love T'Look, the Standard Poodle, GCH CH Dawin Hearts on Fire, and the Old English Sheepdog, GCH CH Lambluv Live The Dream.

Claiming the top two prizes were the Springer, Peyton, with the BIS, and the Shih Tzu, Looker, with the RBIS.  2012’s Number Two Dog All Breeds takes three 2013 BIS into the Garden next week.

Sunday’s closer was called by Fred Bassett who saw the same Springer & Basset, the Rottweiler, GCH CH Hemlock's Jack of Hearts RA, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH High Mountain Everso in Command, the Papillon, GCH CH Blairwynn’s He Gives Me Chills, the Lhasa Apso, Monarch’ s Destination Dreamscape, and the German Shepherd Dog, GCH CH Wolf Creek Galaxy Of Merivern.

Judge Bassett would go with the Basset, Tiger, as his Best and choose Peyton, the Springer, as his Reserve.  Tiger was 2012’s Number One Basset Hound and Number Seven Hound with eight BIS and 48 Hound Groups.  Congratulations to breeders/owners Claudia Orlandi & Claire Steidel and handler Bryan Martin.
