CLUSTERS EVERYWHERE

Verrazano Bridge from Staten Island

The Montana Marathon is not the only extended cluster of shows this week,  In Valparaiso IN the Valparaiso Kennel Club, the Michiana Kennel Club, & the Berrien Kennel Club will team for five shows on the same site starting Thursday.

There are also four day clusters in Cumberland ME with the Lewiston-Auburn Kennel Club & the Penobscot Valley Kennel Club, in Waynesburg PA with the South Hills Kennel Club & Mountaineer Kennel Club, in Cambridge MN with the Anoka County Minnesota Kennel Club & Cambridge Minnesota Kennel Club, and in New York with the Wallkill Kennel Club, the Shawangunk Kennel Club, the Mid-Hudson Kennel Association, & the Staten Island Kennel Club, although exhibitors will have to pack up Saturday afternoon in New Paltz and motor down to Staten Island for Sunday.  All the four day venues will begin on Thursday.

If you are looking for majors, try the limited breed offerings in Richmond VA where Friday’s Virginia Terrier Club will precede the Virginia Kennel Club’s two shows or in Orlando FL where Thursday’s Central Florida Working Group Association show will open for the Brevard Kennel Club, the Central Florida Kennel Club, & the Space Coast Kennel Club Of Palm Bay’s all breed shows.

Out on the West Coast, Terrier Aficionados will eschew the all breed competition for the company of 700 Terriers each day at the Great Western Terrier Association Of Southern California’s two limited breed shows in Long Beach CA.  Working Group exhibitors can work on their tans while attending the Aloha State Sporting Dog Association two shows in Honolulu HI.

There are plenty of standard Saturday/Sunday offerings.  Try the Macomb Kennel Club in Armada MI, the Hawkeye Kennel Club in Iowa City IA, the Clackamas Kennel Club in    Canby OR, or the Alaska Kennel Club in Anchorage AK    So whether you have a week to spend in Montana or just a couple of hours to spare before hitting the beach at Waikiki, visit an AKC dog show this week.
