AKC/EUKUNUBA NATIONAL CHAMPION

CH Propwash Reckon

Tonight’s final at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship in Long Beach CA featured seven of the best in the dog world, including four of AKC’s Top Ten Dogs All Breeds.  Jean Fournier’s seven choices were the Nation’s Number Eight Dog, the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Ripsnorter’s Mt Vie Lookout, the Number Six Dog, the Whippet, GCH CH Starline’s Chanel, the Nation’s Number Ten Dog, the Portuguese Water Dog, GCH cH Aviator’s Luck Be A Lady, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH Slyfox Sneaks A Peek, the Number One Dog, the Pekingese, GCH CH PalaceGarden Malachy, the Bichon Frise, GCH CH Saks Hamelot Little Drummer Boy, and the Australian Shepherd, CH Propwash Reckon.

Taking home a check for $50,000  and bragging rights in perpetuity was the Australian Shepherd.  Bred in the US  by Leslie B Frank, Reckon has spent part of this year in Europe.  The three year old is now back in the US and obviously read to win.  Congratulations to Leslie and co-owner Judy Harrington.

  1. I love it that the Hype Machine completely failed on this one. I'd never heard of the dog until 5 minutes ago. He must be magnificent!

  5. I completely agree with Patty. Any one of those final seven dogs could have won, but it's awesome to see that the underdog pulled through! Congratulations to everyone involved!

  7. The dog might have been new to showing in the US, but Leslie Franks has produced some of the top winning Australian Shepherds of our breed for YEARS. She is known for coming in with a dog and winning it all. Way to go Leslie!

  11. To Roberta Semenzato and Richard Helming,
Thank you for the wonderful year with you and the magnificent condition upon Reckon's return to the US on November 30th. Truly a team effort when a dog arrives just a few days before such a major event and gives you his all. Congratulations on his exceptional record as #1 Herding dog and #2 All Breeds while he was with you. I love the "heart" Reckon sign on his crate! Judy
