NEW DOG2WATCH IN IOWA

CH CR Simply Irresistible

We hadn’t heard much from Amana IA’s four shows this week other than Saturday’s BIS winner.  However, now we have all the details.  The Tri-City Kennel Club started it off on Friday with Fred Bassett’s final with the Gordon Setter, GCH CH Firethorn & Sandpiper Easy On The Eyes, the Longhaired Dachshund, Homar’s Solo Aviator SL, the Neapolitan Mastiff, CH Bruno Della Vecchia Roma, the Border Terrier, Gch CH Meadowlake Eight Belles At Meadowlake, the Pomeranian, CH CR Simply Irresistible, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Cedar C Barnstorm L&D Edition, and the Belgian Sheepdog, CH Chargany’s Voyageur.   His BIS was the Pom, Palmer, the latest collaboration of Noble Inglett and Marge Koga.  This is Palmer’s third BIS since his debut three weeks ago, good enough for us to say this is a DOG2WATCH.

GCH CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout

Saturday Palmer was on hand to see Jay Richardson give the BIS to the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Ripsnorter’s Mt View Lookout, along with the above named Dachshund & Tibetan Terrier.  Also joining the party were the Great Dane, GCH CH Lobato‘s Code Red, the Smooth Fox Terrier, GCH CH J’cobe Broxden The Headliner, and the Bouvier des Flandres, GCH CH Rocheuses Pretty In Pink.  Scout & handler Frank Murphy have been quietly working the bottom half of the Top Ten over the past month.  It should be interesting to see where they come out this week.

Tangens Maverick Red Planet

Sunday, Dr John Shelton would see a mostly new seven for the Cedar Rapids Kennel Association, the Weimaraner, CH Bowbent Carousel’s Perfect World, the Whippet, Tangens Maverick Red Planet, the Siberian Husky, CH Topaz T.R.O.U.B.L.E., the previously mentioned Border Terrier & Pom,  Tibetan Terrier, Misong’s No Mountain High Enough, and the Briard, CH Le Coeur d’Ange de Briardale.  He would choose the Whippet, Fanci.  We don’t have the catalog yet, so we can’t tell you if Fanci was from the classes, but we do believe this is her first BIS.  Congratulations to breeders Eva Engvall & Rachel Amado and owner Donna Pardi.

Monday, the CRKA closed it out with Allan Pepper considering the previously mentioned Gordon & Pom, the Whippet, Apprasin Hotor Free Agent At Willowcrest, the Portuguese Water Dog, CH Driftwooe’s I Have A Dream, the Norfolk Terrier, GCH CH Max-Well’s I Have A Dream, the Tibetan Terrier, GCH CH Cedar C Barnstorm L&D Edition, and the Australian Shepherd, GCH CH Clemwood’s Nobel Laureate.   His BIS would go, once again to the Pom.   Is it just us or are we starting to see some 2011 contenders emerge.
