LOTS OF LOUISIANA RESULTS

GCH CH Skyscot's Poker Chip

You can’t beat southern hospitality and beautiful dogs and there were both in Monroe LA this week where the Bayou Kennel Club, and Vicksburg Kennel Club Of Mississippi combined for four shows.  It all began Friday with the BKC who asked Maxine Beam to choose a BIS.  Her options were the Pointer, CH Solivia's Walk In The Clouds, the Redbone Coonhound, GCH CWSG Sidearm Jungle King Mufasa, the Siberian Husky, CH Indigo's Hilltop Istate, the Norwich Terrier. GCH CH Skyscot's Poker Chip, the Miniature Pinscher. CH Marlex Classic Red Glare, the Standard Poodle. GCH CH Kaylen's By Invitation Only, and the Pembroke Welsh Corgi, CH Riverside In The Dark Zone.  Her BIS was always on Norwich, Pokey.  Pokey never lets up and he and handler Brenda Combs have collected eleven BIS this year, three in the last ten days.

GCH CH Lazy D's Bonnie Blu

The BKC did it again on Saturday, this time with Dr Alvin Krause.  He would get an all new slate save one.  His seven included Pokey. the German Wirehaired Pointer, GCH CH Star K's Mile Hi Valentine, the Pharaoh Hound, CH Northgate's As You Like It, the Mastiff, GCH CH Lazy D's Bonnie Blu, the Papillon, CH Alfa's Forevr Rebel Spirit, the Keeshond, GCH. CH Karina's Bourbon Street Beat, and the Shetland Sheepdog, CH Leeason Rock My Soul.  If you are in the Deep South and you have a name like Bonnie Blu, you do have a built in following.  (If you don’t get the reference order Gone With The Wind from Netflix) BIS went to the Mastiff, Bonnie.  It‘s the first BIS for a Mastiff this year.  Congratulations to breeder/owner Nancy Walker and owner Colette Livingston.

CH Marlex Classic Red Glare

Sunday the VKC took over with Joe Walton getting the BIS duty.  He would see the aforementioned Pharaoh Hound, Siberian, MinPin, & Norwich, the Vizsla, CH  Regal Point Pinnacle Of Kilauea, the Chinese Shar-Pei, GCH CH Elite's By Design, and the Polish Lowland Sheepdog, GCH CH Starpons Mustang Sally Rae..  He would choose the MinPin, Classie, as his Best.  Just 13 months old, it’s the first BIS for the stylish girl.  Classie was owner handled to the win by Armando Angelbello.   Congratulations to Armando, breeder Carole Ann Mohr-Rio, and co-owner Leah Monte.

CH Indigo's Hilltop Istate

Six of Monday’s VKC final seven were repeat visitors.  Raymond V. Filburn Jr. saw the previously mentioned GWP, Siberian, Norwich, MinPin, Standard Poodle, & Sheltie, and the Basset Hound, GCH CH Topsfield-Sanchu American Express.  Persistence would pay off for the Siberian, Stacey.  It’s the third BIS this year for the multi BIS/BISS winner, who will turn six next month.  Best of all, this win gives us an excuse to feature the below vanity video!

  1. How nice to see some fresh faces! I'm tired of always seeing the same ones take BIS! There are two many good dogs for it to be this way. Come on judges - get brave and find one of the good ones that hasn't been put up by everyone else!
